  1. Making a movie about that clown show prosecutor's office might make for some good black comedy.
  2. What is wrong with these people? Triggered by a baby? Really? I really showed that little kid in the shopping basket! [ETA: I just noted that he made sure the father had his back turned. Such manful manliness.] So many needle dick rivals do the horns down at Longhorns like they think it's a big spell in Dungeons and Dragons. The Aggies have done a good job with the Big Lie to make other fans think this makes us cry and that we sought the rule change because we were so offended. When other fans meet us at games, it will be funny to see Aggie stock go even lower. And this guy: What is wrong with the world when top baseball players don't have that burning desire to play for A&M in front of a dedicated fanbase (the world's only!) and for a (rookie) coach who is very popular with the players who picked him? Even playing for the natty (ugh) last year for the only time A&M has got close doesn't seem to concern (I think he means interest) these prospects. For some reason, the players seem interested in the successful coach who raised Aggie from being a regional power to a national one in only three years. Aggies have figured out that this coach was the problem. He's also of low character. Some might say he took a better job at a better place, but the bitter Aggies know better. Coach Congeniality will return them to the lip of the big time. A new big lie appears for the Aggies: When the rumor emerged that Schlossnagle was leaving, the Aggies were delighted. They got rid of him and got their guy, a guy who was an unpaid assistant two years ago, to step in and clean up Schloss' mess. Things begin to fall into place. If the talent at A&M carries them to the CWS again, Earley will get one of those big extensions. John Sharpe isn't leaving until next year. He wants to wait until he can promote an assistant on the basketball team to head coach for the trifecta.
  3. I loved those commercials. I never turn on ESPN unless we're playing on it, so I don't know what they're doing now. Used to be a very witty vibe.
  4. What about all those star players A&M brought in from the portal? They got 6 or 7 players who were on a team that the CWS finals! Aggies saying that they're kicking our ass in the portal!
  5. Forgive my ignorance of the details of college baseball, but would a player who is a very likely pro prospect may be willing to defer for a few years due to NIL? I just think maybe I would be tempted to go ahead and get some of the college experience while pulling in nice money rather than going straight to the harsh world of pro-baseball. Austin and UT (or many other colleges) sound better than AA ball for your first few years out of high school. Am I crazy?
  6. I hope the coaches who recruited him noticed that!
  7. Wow. That's quite a string of political cartoons. To the excellent Trump as dragon cartoon, I might ad a TV reporter speaking with his back to Trump, about to be devourted or torcehed, saying, "Our big story tonight is the peril of Dem election hopes and how we will all be affected."
  8. Yes. From a helicopter hovering over a volcano.
  9. I don't know what you're talking about, and I'm not going to run through this again unless you bring up something new to me and relevant. I don't believe the Screen Actors Guild sets the ulitmate policy for what an armorer does on set, but I'll listen.
  10. I've moved to rural Texas. I pass two small ranches that have Trump Flags regularly. I know these bloodsuckers exist. I'm not surprised. I'm stunned by the fact of it. I've recently had a family member reveal their Trumpiness. The person thought she had a gotcha when she brought up Biden's debate performance. Me: "I'd vote for a corpse before I'd vote that lying fascist. I never dreamed there would be an election of existential importance to the republic." Her: "All politicians lie" Idiot World. Malign Idiot World. I've got a DNA connection with it.
  11. He committed no crime. It was a horrible accident. People need to stop saying shit about what happens on a set when they don't have nor want a clue.
  12. Trump does that shit all the time. I can't listen to NPR or watch much news. The biggest story since WW2 is right in front of the news stations, but they won't see it. Of course, neither does a huge part of the electorate.
  13. They didn't fail sustaining a thread. They just ran out of lies.
  14. I'm annoyed because he seems to be a respected recruiting reporter and I'm sometimes pathetically easy to annoy. I will say, that if you are the lowest common denominator, why are you clearly a better writer than he is? I'll drop it. We've got a crumbling language where the only adjectives seem to be incredible and amazing. If a member of a sports broadcast team used the word pedantic, the other morons would hoot and make fun of it. Then they could go back to describing a team being in the shadow of their goal line or finding various ways to fuck up mano a mano. Somebody put RomaVicta to bed.
  15. Very very concerned. We don't get enough of that around here.
  16. So far, it's a huge departure from the book. You could read the book and not have a thing ruined. It's way smarter. The original movie left me cold. I put the original out of my mind to watch the current series and it's okay. I think Kelly is just cashing in. He really twisted up something else recently. His work is cloying now. He's a great story though. Back in the day, he was an attorney in NYC who couldn't type. He handwrote an episode of LA Law and paid his assistant to type it up. He sent it to the producers and, bang, new career. He's written for that show and written/produced a ton of great stuff since. The capper? Marries Michelle Pfeiffer.
  17. Not long ago for me, too. A baby is introduced in season 3. Episodes bad enough to turn me off, but I'll return at some point. I always feel like a shows producers must have babies and can't imagine anything cuter or more fun than the same fucking cliches. I hate it.
  18. I guess maybe that makes him a professional slurrer rather than writer. It's a long, losing cause, but I think writers should try to protect the language. I think my low opinion of sportswriters as writers is well known.
  19. God knows what they think it stands for. All Aggie Universities They're right there at the top of that group.
  20. You're a fucking professional writer for fuck's sake.
  21. Can't we just cut back on the food we pay the Asian slaves with? I've got a house in the Hamptons to pay off!
  22. Analyzing an article written about how A&M hasn't done much with its 12 year head start in the SEC and maybe moving to the BIG is for them. Top of page 2: Yes, you honest soul. You sat in your study and did your analysis without consulting the other thousand Aggie posts puking out the same conclusion. No, you soberly determined that 1975 was the correct watershed moment because you believe you became "normal" then. Straight up facts. You didn't even consider the straight up facts from below: That 3-19 run really shouldn't count because A&M was pre-normal. Oh, actually it's worse than 3-19. I just had trouble getting the prior 2-11-1 part of the schedule to fit. Now, back to history and straight up facts. We see how their dead even period begins as they've become "normal." Hell, we were even out of Viet Nam. All the manly soldiers boys have nowhere to go. They got girls and "non-regs" (exactly how all normal schools refer to students not in the ROTC or ROTC Auxilliary). Fuck stompings have resumed. But, our esteemed analyst now eases on by this to when he was in school. Indeed, the Aggies prevailed for a while. He likes to mention the 90s, but let's pick it up from above, shall we? Another bit of rough road for the normalized Aggies. But something changes! The dear old Aggies are 12-6 versus the Ebil Longhorns. With a six game win streak and a five game win streak. Full normalcy is achieved. They are now the awakened giant. Jackie Sherrill is a miracle worker. They're on their way to equality or dominance just as the fellow has been saying all along. I won't make mention of the sanctions they incurred. I don't need to. Let's see how the Aggies continue in their rightful place: What's this? Did we have another foreign war? Did the number of non-regs crash to give way to their various versions of the ROTC? NO GIRLS?!?!?!?! It's a national conspiracy! In every game but the last, Texas is ranked in the top ten for 8 of the 9 times then won. Shouldn't the newly normal Ags be right up there, too? The unfairness of never being in the top ten going into their final game of the season! 1 Later part of the last century, absolutely. 2 No, you were not and are not. You can't hang your hat on a single run surrounded by Texas dominating you. 3 Yep. Just one magical year. The rest was shit. Ten win seasons. Bowl victories over Ohio State and Michigan. Beating the fuck out of the dead even (that is just facts!) fully normal Aggies, playing in a second national championship game in 2009, and narrowly missing another in 2008 with arguably the best team in the period. 4 Fuck you, nut-rider. 77-0 in the third quarter ring any bells, Mr. Dead Even 5 Nobody really even knows who the Longhorns are anymore. That 4-5 run the Ags put on us after 1975 destroyed the brand. Sad, really. He then descends into jiberish. The norm. Just as the norm is Texas kicking A&M's nuts up around their neck.
