  1. Trust the Elk and the Elk Culture Elkulture. Football re-invented!
  2. I like how you don't see it's the Aggies we're playing when Ricky sets the record. Shows just how much we care. I love beating the Aggies but I love beating every team we play. The Aggies are just mouthier.
  3. While the provenance of the Gainesville billboard is in doubt, the one below's isn't. Their greatest and most prestigious achievement ever.
  4. JesusSD anticipates most of my response to you. It could be it was just another Aggie at the table tossing another of their Tourette's ejaculations. I've wondered for years now if the Aggies who generate these lies believe they are part of a psy-ops campaign against an enemy. Seriously. Their fake military can convince themselves of anything. I can imagine a meeting in a corps dorm as they pass around the "milk" jar. "Yea man! That's redass! We'll show those tu queers! Is it my turn for you to watch me jack off into the jar?" I also think the internet has concentrated their former eccentric, envious dislike for tu into a raging, jealous, self-righteous hatred. The non-2%ers are fully unhinged. I've become anthropologically obsessed them because of their unique jihad against a sports rival. No other rival in the nation is like them at all. They're more stalker than rival. I was at a meeting with people from the southeast. In one of the breaks, somebody asked where I was from. Texas. "Are you an Aggie?! We love the polite Aggies. They're always so well oriented as to their stadium which is the most awesome place and atmosphere I've ever experienced! My kids are all having second thoughts about going to my alma mater, and I don't blame them!" "No. I went to UT." "Tennessee doesn't have a school in Texas!" "The University of Texas." "Ugh! You entered the SEC like a nasty infection! The Aggies joined marching in their resplendent uniforms with unbelievable class!" They all started hissing and doing the Horns down. They became red in the face and proceeded to drag me outside for spitting on and kicking. I curled fetal like the coward Longhorn we all are. Eventually they stopped. They'd put in quite an effort as it was a Teams meeting over the phone, and I was at home at the time.
  5. They lie about how the penalty for taunting using another school hand sign came to be. A Texas receiver holstered a gun after scoring against Tech in Lubbock. We were penalized 15 yards. That's why we went to the commissioner: apply the rule equally. So they lie about us complaining simply because our feelings were hurt. Built on that lie is the even dumber one that doing the horns down to a Longhorn has some sort of magical power. You see it in their faces when they do it. They look like yokels celebrating how their sacred traditions are what make the sun rise. They think we are in for an unpleasant surprise facing the deadly grind of the SEC. They thing we're soft from top to bottom.
  6. You make your case well. I'd prefer no insignia for the conference just as you do. There's an obsession about branding that soars to absurdity. Texas and a few other schools in the SEC have brands in the since that their insignia and name carry meaning. Usually that meaning is excellence and a tradition of winning. The SEC emblem is exactly as you say: a tacky form of advertising. I am one of those persons, however, who does pull for other teams in the conference against non conference opponents because I want to believe winning whatever conference carries more weight. I also manage to actually like other teams in the conference even though I feel keen rivalry. The use of the word hate (you do not use it in your post) is over the top to me. The Aggies absolutely hate us and believe they are on a crusade against all that is evil. That's a pathology. I despised OU during the height of their cheating years and hated their ill-gotten success. I have only pulled for the Aggies a few times when they were underdogs putting up a great fight. It's one of the things I love about the sport. I haven't done so in decades now because of their absurd disposition towards us. I don't want to adopt their disposition towards anyone. I don't feel spite towards the Big 12. I hated losing to Iowa State but loved them for their upstart toughness. You shouldn't have a team on your annual schedule that never beats you. Iowa State overdid it, but I can't hold it against them. Okay, RomaVicta, stop rambling now. I'll never say anything about a brutal SEC schedule or how five wins in our conference is worth seven in any other. I'll never chant SEC. I'll never believe that belonging to the conference does anything for our prestige.
  7. How fitting to use a spar on the USS Constitution.
  8. One of the best links to open ever. That should survive as a gif/meme long after nobody remembers who Finebaum even is. I laughed twice in the pause. In that light, it appears that we make it blend into the jersey a little better by not making the letters so white like they are on the Aggie jersey. Or maybe it's just that the contrast with the colors is different. According to the Aggies, it's a magic patch that makes you SEC good the second it gets sewn on. We now can lay claim to all of the SEC success in the past as though we were part of it. I've forgotten yet again who on this site quipped that the Aggies shouild wear an SEC uniform with an A&M patch. The person usually shows up to identify himself. He should. I still laugh at the line.
  9. Fair enough. Of course, I disagree, but we've both had our say. No hard feelings.
  10. The DNC using Superdelegates to give her the nomination, and her ignoring battleground states is what made her a flawed candidate. We were going to get a disaster no matter which was elected. The obstructionist, hate-mongering GOP would have made American politics a nightmare. Given a chance, I think should would have been a fine president. Of course, she's undeniably more fit to hold office than what we got. Anybody notice what a bad person Trump is?
  11. There is no balance for a human life which you seem to think is lifelong incarceration. The guy is guilty. He's doing time. I think the justice system is up to this task. I suppose we could go with vigilantes. Certainly the Iraq Invasion to answer your other question. Enjoy inventing thoughts that you think are in my head.
  12. I don't see how the post is irrelevant to the topic as discussed. My position is not partisan. I'm not sure it's even political. I address the statements made in the thread. I appreciate your comment and how you state it. I agree that politics should be kept contained.
  13. Hard men demanding hard time for every crime. Veddy macho. Congrats. American prisons are not some abstract notion you can invoke to make yourself feel tough or self-righteous. They're hellish and a national shame. We've become so accustomed to the idea of prison rape and unspeakable brutality, that the subject becomes fodder for jokes. We are party to felonies ourselves in accepting this cruel status quo. The whole pose of toughness expressed by the vicarious thrill of sending people to be raped and brutalized in prison is similar to that that prompts the public to support military invasions. Nobody can stop our tanks, air forces, and special forces. It's a rush to watch them roll into battle. Then we're left with another expensive mess where we've killed tens of thousands of non-combatants and achieved no real objective. I love the feel of my piss being carried back to me by the stiff breeze. There is no changing American blood lust and self-righteousness. I expect to be called soft. I'm sure I'll be devastated to hear it.
  14. The stuff I read above was all too perfectly aligned with Aggie paranoia and compulsive lying. "Their whole conference told us how arrogant they are." Exactly how does that work? Conference call? Convention? Pure Aggie invention just like the absurd claim that we throw urine on war veterans. I once asked if they thought we carried around vials of urine for chance encounters or produced the pee into a cup in the moment. I will also say that some of the posts on here so vehemently saying how much we don't care and despise the SEC are also a little over-the-top. Or maybe I'm just out of touch with the mindsets of modern fans. Playing in the SEC will be fun. If they want to buy the Aggie lies, they're idiots, too. I doubt anywhere near a majority of SEC fans have any buy-in to the Aggie narratives. For one thing, the abject Aggies are telling their once-beloved brothers that they will all fall like punks before the mightiness of Texas. Who looks like idiots in that scenario? Fuck it. Let's just play the games already.
