  1. Thanks, but not according to Trump. 😯 Never hire an impressionist to do court drawings.
  2. I have no idea who that is or is supposed to be.
  3. I've got a buddy who knows a guy who manages the conspiracy. The manager got his undergrad at A&M, but he kept it a secret so he could infiltrate and spread the real truth about the sips. He took this video on his phone through a hole in his shirt pocket. It's real, people.
  4. In Cabaret, the musical numbers happen on stage at the Cabaret bar. There is nothing unnatural as you describe from other musicals. That may not be enough to draw you, but I thought you should know.
  5. The movie is elite. All of Fosse's productions have conflicts like that. The outcome always carries his stamp and world view. And, as you likely know, collaboration on something big is a bloody sometimes hateful process. We'll never know how another emcee would be, but it's hard to imagine any actor ever who could have matched let alone surpassed Joel Grey. I was put off by the Bohemian lifestyles of the lead characters when I was closer to being a suburban boy than a more mature viewer. It fits these times, those times, and all times due to Fosse's vision of how people work. Only a handful of directors achieve that, IMHO.
  6. Summary judgement. Summary execution. Whatever.
  7. I've no words. I'll use two movie sequences instead: The Wall (Visual clue as to vid below) The Joel Grey insertion at the end still gives me goosebumps. I can't believe that I had to get into my 30s before I appreciated Cabaret. Fosse knew the world well.
  8. And persons I know that have been involved in the Methodist Church at the national level lament the hard anti-woman and anti-gay right wingers taking over. They couldn't be part of it, and left. It seems kind of like The Schism, but I'm not sure I know what that is. As a non-believer, I liked the Methodist. If I were a devout believer, I'd aspire to being a Quaker. They seem to be the purest expression of faith in the ways of Jesus. I'm no expert. To the outsider, the difference between Catholic and Protestant is akin to that between baseball's National and American Leagues. You've got to get down to ground level to see the various follies of man.
  9. They're more the pawn in our idiotic political argument. They benefit from that as long as Americans care about Israel. A pawn can be tossed aside and should worry about that.
  10. I feel for Biden. This is a tough situation. Our policy is mealy-mouthed in the face of a merciless displacement, killing, and starving 100s of 1000s. My opinion has been made clear enough. We're complicit. I feel for Biden because he has to negotiate a complex problem in a US that wants a simple good-evil presentation. He's also got to worry about taking any stand that makes it any easier for Trump to assume the presidency and finish destroying republic. There is no way Biden loses my vote. No way. I was driving and listening to NPR. A US government official, probably former, with the State Dept was to be interviewed. I rolled my eyes. As with many of my predictions, I was wrong. He brought up a hard fact that altered my attitude somewhat toward support for Israel. He used the example of 30% of the missiles fired from Iran were intercepted by the US and allies. I was all for the defensive measures, but I hadn't really thought of the implications. One, keeping Israel from being done like Gaza is being done is unacceptable. As unacceptable as what Israel perpetrates this very day. Two, while I still think we should cut off supply of weapons being used in Gaza, I have a deeper understanding feel for Isael's the Israeli people's dependence on the US to deter devastation. The Israeli goverment can all be kicked out of helicopters over the sea or over Gaza. Our electorate's binary mindset about conflict, good-guy v bad guy, does not allow for anything but the most simplistic discourse. The GЯP's insistence on turning any issue into a pack of lies to be used as a dagger in the back of American interests makes Biden's position even tougher. The same concern I have for the Gazans would be there for Israel pushed toward a similar situation. I wish we were not involved at all and that a Jewish State could have been set up somewhere in the West. Utah probably wouldn't work out, but somewhere they wouldn't have been immediately beset. Another fucking novel. Sorry about that.
  11. Or even accidental deaths like falling off roofs, shoe accidents, and accidental self-inflicted wounds with steak knives. It's a bloodbath out there for the poor Aggies.
  12. This is really good. Colin Farrell is hitting a great stride at this stage of his career. The twist would usually throw me out, but it's fascinating. The filmmaking is excellent. Intercutting from noir classics but not spending too much time with them. I also like how they provide little surprises. Twice tonight, they show people in a room then cut to people entering the room (hotel and classroom). When they arrive the room is empty. They've delayed maybe 15 seconds. Just a clever detail. I think this may be better film noir than the references. Bravo!
  13. I'm not much for inspirational stories, but this one moves me. It may turn out that getting his degree at Texas the way he has done will have a better impact on his life than playing. I hope so. Thanks for posting this. Proud this guy is a Longhorn.
  14. What does this say about the state of Aggie football? Replace their name with Arizona State or Oklahoma State or South Carolina, and what really changes?
  15. Aggies picked up a transfer from Iowa. Jacob Bostick. Pretty impressive.
  16. The cross helps me get in close before I grab 'em by the pussy.
  17. Ms. Daniels, at this so-called encounter with President Donald Trump, you've said at times it was a dinner but then said no food was consumed. We have that in print, Ms. Daniels! Vogue magazine! Aren't you lying? No. I was invited for a dinner that was never served. Or so you say! Objection! Withdrawn. In this story about your alleged encounter with President-for-Life Trump- Objection! Sustained Did you, Ms. Daniels have a beverage? Yes. I had a Diet Dr. Pepper. Aha! Diet Dr. Pepper? Yes. Did everyone on the jury hear that? Diet. Doctor. Pepper. You know, Ms. Daniels, that God-King Trump Objection! Sustained. -President Trump only drinks Diet Coke. No. I'll also remind you of the Vogue interview. Do you recall? Yes. There you say you had a Diet Sprite! There were no sodas in that room other than Diet Coke, so how could you have acquired another soda? You can't even keep your story straight! One day it's Diet Dr. Pepper another day it's Diet Sprite! If you're lying about this, Miss Daniels, what else are you lying about? The defense rests!
