Hamm lite STAFF Posted on 108 mins, V I P, User Since 199 months ago, User Post Count: 0 108 minsVIP 199 months After signing one of the top defensive line classes in the country in 2020, Texas A&M could end up with an even better group in 2021. The Aggies are in good shape with quite a few prospects, both in the state of Texas and nationally. Though new names will likely emerge during the spring evaluation period, here is where things currently stand with the top targets. VERY GOOD SHOTS WITH Texarkana Pleasant Grove DE Landon Jackson: A&M was the first to offer the 6-foot-6, 240-pound defender and his dad is a former walkon basketball player for the Aggies. Texas is trying to make things interesting, but A&M is in good shape. He will officially visit the weekend of the spring game. LSU will also get an official visit in May and Alabama will likely receive one, too, in addition to the Longhorns at some point. Still, though, the Aggies are in very good shape here. Texarkana Pleasant Grove DE Marcus Burris: A teammate of Jackson’s, the 6-foot-4, 262-pound four-star defender might be even higher on A&M than his teammate is. Burris could potentially end up inside but, at the moment, is being recruited as an end. He is the best bet of any of the highly-ranked prospects to end up an Aggie. Port Arthur Memorial DE Jordon Thomas: A&M has not always had a ton of success in the Golden Triangle but the four-star defender has long listed the Aggies as his top school. However, a recent Junior Day visit to Austin put Texas up there as well. This will be an A&M-Texas battle with Thomas planning to visit Aggieland a couple more times this spring and summer. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound defender missed almost all of this past season with an injury, so that is at leasy somewhat of a concern, but he should be fine going forward. GOOD SHOTS WITH IMG Academy DE Tunmise Adeleye: After transferring from Katy Tompkins, the 6-foot-3 defender has trimmed down to 240 pounds and has turned himself into more of an edge rusher. That is a scary thought for opposing offensive linemen. Though some other schools have gotten into the mix since his transfer, such as Florida, the national top-50 prospect is still highest on A&M, Alabama and Ohio State. He will be at A&M for an unofficial visit the weekend of the spring game. Adeleye plans to announce his decision on Aug. 1. Philadelphia (Pa.) Northeast DE Elijah Jeudy: Texas A&M was one of the first schools to offer the 6-foot-3, 233-pound four-star defender. Also, being from Philadelphia, he has developed a strong bond with Elijah Robinson, who is from just across the bridge in Camden. Jeudy has been to A&M before and will be back for an unofficial at the end of this month. Penn State is going to provide major competition, as are Alabama, Georgia and LSU. But, the Aggies have positioned themselves well with the No. 170 overall prospect. Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic DT Tywone Malone: The Aggies had a lot of success in South Jersey in the class of 2020 and will look to do the same in the north of the state this cycle. The 6-foot-3.5, 300-pound defensive tackle unofficially visited Aggieland during the season this past year and has A&M as one of his top schools. He, too, has built a very solid relationship with Robinson. Penn State also is in good shape there while some of the other Big 10 schools have recruited the area well. Fort Washington (Md.) National Christian Academy DE Monkell Goodwine: The 6-foot-4, 260-pound junior could end up as a defensive tackle as well. Ranked as the nation’s No. 114 overall prospect, he was blown away by an unofficial visit to A&M in the fall. He also has a former teammate, Joshuah Moten, on the roster in College Station. Much of the SEC is after him and will make this a tough battle, but he is a fan of the Aggies for sure. VERY MUCH IN THE MIX DeSoto DE Shemar Turner: The 6-foot-3.5, 260-pound defender was outstanding at A&M’s camp this past summer. He then went out and had a dominant junior season. Turner is interested in the Aggies but has a ton of suitors as well. A recent unofficial visit to Alabama before the dead period went very well and the Tide are in good shape if they push. Other than that, he is pretty open at this point. Houma (La.) Terrebonne DT Maason Smith: The five-star prospect is interested in A&M, as evidenced by multiple unofficial visits already. However, getting a highly-rated defender out of the state of Louisiana is very, very tough. The 6-foot-5, 316-pounder is someone the Aggies will continue to recruit heavily, but LSU is not going to let him go easily. Alabama is also very involved with him. Mansfield Legacy DE David Abiara: The 6-foot-4, 248-pound defender is a newer name to emerge, not just on A&M’s radar but that of several other schools as well. His sister goes to A&M, so that helps with the familiarity, but both Notre Dame and Oklahoma feel very good about their chances, especially the former. Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake DT Victory Vaka: Just like a number of others on this list, the 6-foot-3, 315-pound Vaka is high on A&M because of his relationship with Robinson. The nation’s No. 200 overall prospect, he has never been to A&M. That will change, though, as he has an unofficial visit scheduled for early May. Vaka has officials scheduled for Florida, Michigan and Oregon already, so A&M will have to work to get one of the final two. He does not plan to announce until the Early Signing Day and will then enroll early. Others still looking at A&M: Gaithersburg (Md.) Quince Orchard DT Marcus Bradley; Vero Beach, Fla. DE Keanu Koht; New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine DE Byron Turner Jr.

Way-too-early predictions: Who will end up in A&M's 2021 class? VIP ByBRIAN PERRONI 4 hours ago Share 31 Comments Texas A&M is officially done with the class of 2020 after signing a pair of players on Wednesday. Now, the attention has completely turned toward the class of 2021. Though it is still a year away from their signing day, the picture is already a bit clear on who the Aggies have the best chance with. Based on all the intel at the moment, this is our best guess as to how the class could end up finishing. Keep in mind, though, that there are always players that end up in the class that were not even on the radar at this point in their careers. This will almost assuredly not be the exact 25 that sign with A&M come December and February, but it is at least a picture of what the class should look like. QUARTERBACK Eli Stowers, Denton Guyer (A&M commit): The ultra-athletic four-star prospect is already committed to A&M. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound dual-threat is still being pursued by other schools with Auburn offering just last week. However, he is solid to the Aggies. RUNNING BACK Earnest Crownover, Kilgore J.C. (A&M commit): Crownover is already an A&M commit and will technically be on campus once school starts in August. However, due to the ‘blueshirt’ rule, the 6-foot-1, 220-pounder will count toward the 25-man limit in the 2021 class. LJ Johnson, Cy-Fair: The national top-100 back is a player that Jimbo Fisher has personally been recruiting quite a bit. At 5-foot-10, 205-pounds, he fits the offense really well in that he is both big and fast. Stanford and Texas will be players here as well, but A&M is in good shape. Audric Estime, Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph Regional: Not counting Crownover, the Aggies want to take two backs in the class. Estime is being recruited by Elijah Robinson and the 6-foot-1.5, 210-pound big back plans to visit this spring. This spot honestly could go to a number of players, though. WIDE RECEIVER Shadrach Banks, North Shore (A&M commit): A&M absolute loves the 6-foot-1 210-pound junior and there’s a reason he was the first commit in the class for the Aggies. He has grown up a big fan of A&M and people around North Shore say the national top-100 prospect is locked into his pledge. He can play inside or outside. Ketron Jackson, Royse City: This second wide receiver spot could honestly go to anybody, including someone who isn’t even on the radar yet. But the 6-foot-1, 175-pound speedy four-star prospect was in College Station for the Super Bowl this past weekend and seems as good a bet as anyone at this point. TIGHT END Dametrious Crownover, Grandview: A&M is recruiting the 6-foot-6, 235-pound four-star prospect as an athlete. The Aggies think he can play either tight end or defensive end and just want to get him on campus and sort it out later. However, most of his offers are at tight end. His older brother will be on the team beginning in August and, even before Earnest committed, Dametrious was high on the Aggies. Elijah Arroyo, Frisco Independence: Arroyo is the lone other in-state tight end to have been offered by A&M so far. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder has seen some big offers come in as of late after he became a key receiver in one of the top passing offenses in the state. He is currently ranked as a three-star but it would not be a shock to see his rating go up by every service. There are a number of players who could end up filling this second tight end spot, but Arroyo is a good guess at the moment. OFFENSIVE LINE Trey Zuhn, Fort Collins (Colo.) Fossil Ridge (A&M commit): The 6-foot-6, 300-pound junior committed to A&M this past weekend, choosing the Aggies over his other two finalists – Ohio State and Oklahoma. He is a big kid already and moves well. The four-star is a pure tackle in a class where the Aggies badly need several of them. Reuben Fatheree, Richmond Foster: The 6-foot-7, 315-pound tackle has been a target of A&M’s since early in his freshman year. Also a standout basketball player, he would like to play both sports in college. Fatheree has been to A&M as much as any other school and really likes both the football and basketball staffs. Baylor and LSU are the biggest threats at the moment. Bryce Foster, Katy Taylor: The Aggies’ top target at guard, the national top-100 prospect is strong as an ox and already a very polished blocker. Foster comes from an Aggie family and is high on A&M. He plans to take his official visits, but there’s a good chance he ends up in Maroon and White. Jaeden Roberts, North Shore: The 6-foot-4.5, 330-pound Roberts recently visited Alabama and did not include the Aggies in his top three after. However, A&M has been on him a long time and he will be back to Aggieland this spring and summer multiple times. He also has a teammate in Banks committed to A&M. This one is more up in the air than others, but he’s as likely as any other player to fill this spot. Javonne Shepherd, Butler (Kan.) C.C.: A big A&M target out of high school in the class of 2018, Shepherd signed with Texas. He transferred after one semester and wanted to make it to Aggieland. However, he had to go the junior college route. He still plans on playing for A&M and could be able to get out as soon as December of 2020. With a decent spring and beginning to his season, there’s a good chance he gets his wish and becomes an Aggie. He would have three years of eligibility remaining. DEFENSIVE END Landon Jackson, Texarkana Pleasant Grove: The 6-foot-6, 240-pound five-star is the son of a former A&M walkon basketball player and has been to Aggieland a ton as a recruit. A&M was also the first school to offer him as a freshman. He is a huge priority for the Aggies. While Texas is making a run, I believe he ends up in College Station. He is set to officially visit the weekend of the spring game. Marcus Burris, Texarkana Pleasant Grove: A teammate of Jackson’s, Burris is a national top-100 prospect in his own right. If you are taking bets on who could be the next Aggie pledge, the 6-foot-4, 265-pound defender would have good odds. The talk around Texarkana is that he is likely to end up at A&M. Jordon Thomas, Port Arthur Memorial: It will be interesting to see how hard the Aggies push for the 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end prospect. Thomas was injured in the first game of the season and missed his entire junior year. However, he has the tools to be an elite pass rusher and the four-star prospect currently has A&M on top. Tunmise Adeleye, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy: After transferring from Katy Tompkins to IMG last month, the five-star prospect has even more schools after him. He visited Florida this past weekend and the Gators are very much in the mix now. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound defender has A&M, Alabama and Ohio State as his top three, though, and a strong season by the Aggies will go a long way toward landing him. DEFENSIVE TACKLE Tywone Malone, Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic: The nation’s No. 38 overall prospect, Malone is going to be a tough pull out of Big Ten and Notre Dame territory. However, A&M went into New Jersey for a pair of top defensive linemen this past class. The 6-foot-3.5, 300-pound Malone is very interested in A&M and has already made his way to campus once. He will return on an official. Victory Vaka, Westlake, Calif.: The 6-foot-3, 315-pound four-star prospect has yet to visit A&M but continually includes the Aggies in his top group of schools. He has grown close to the A&M coaching staff. He is going to officially visit at some point and the Aggies will have the chance to win him over even more. Some of the defensive end targets are already big, so one of them could potentially end up as a tackle as well and fill this spot. LINEBACKER Kenneth Phillips III, Fort Bend Bush (A&M commit): The 5-foot-11.5, 205-pound defender committed to A&M this past summer, not long after picking up an offer from camp. He was part of the class of 2020 but tore three ligaments in his knee late in his senior season. Since he won’t be able to play this coming season, the Aggies are grayshirting him and bringing him to campus in January 2021 so he can count toward the 2021 class. Terrence Lewis, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna: The 6-foot-1, 200-pound five-star prospect is a major A&M target. He made it to campus over the summer for the recruiting barbecue and has the Aggies in his top three with Florida and Nebraska. It will be a battle, but having good friend Donell Harris on campus will help. CORNERBACK Tony Grimes, Virginia Beach (Va.) Princess Anne: The nation’s top cornerback, the five-star prospect has spent close to a week in Aggieland each of the past two summers. He is returning in April for another unofficial visit. Grimes plans to make his decision on Dec. 1 and will officially visit A&M in the fall, potentially the weekend before that. The Aggies are in as good a shape as anybody and he just needs to gel with TJ Rushing as well as he did with Maurice Linguist. Deuce Harmon, Denton Guyer: The 5-foot-9, 180-pound defender is very physical for his size, but also has really good speed, as evidenced by his film as a returner. Currently a high three-star, Harmon is a candidate to see his ranking go up by all the services. A&M really likes him and the feeling is mutual. With his teammate Stowers already committed, it would not be a shock if Harmon were next. Ishmael Ibraheem, Dallas Kimball: Still relatively new to the football, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound defender has found himself pursued by pretty much every top school in the country. Ibraheem has speed and size and, once he puts everything together, has as high a ceiling as any member of the class. He, too, was a big fan of Linguist but Rushing should be able to make an impression. SAFETY 31COMMENTS Kamren Kinchens, Miami (Fla.) Northwestern: A teammate of Lewis’ until the five-star linebacker transferred last month, Kinchens is still close to him. The duo will likely make an unofficial visit together to A&M this spring. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound defender has heard good things about Aggieland from both Harris and Lewis. His school principal is also the father of Aggie analyst Ishmael Aristide.

Behind the Scenes: How Texas A&M's 2020 Brian PerroniSTAFF Just to start off, since his recruitment is still going on, we won’t be getting into anything about Zachary Evans. That’s going to take a book one day, anyway. -Starting at quarterback, it once looked like Malik Hornsby would be the one taken in the class by the Aggies. He was offered early and made a commitment at the Clemson game early in his junior year. However, as you guys know, he never went public with it. This was a situation where A&M was gun-shy about taking a quarterback so early. They knew that whoever they got in the class had to be considered ‘can’t-miss.’ They were high on Hornsby, but they weren’t quite sure yet that was him. The Aggies sort of played the political game of, ‘Go home and sleep on it and make sure the decision is right for you.’ They wanted to keep pursuing him, but weren’t ready for him to be in the class. His pledge was leaked, but he kept pushing the video back that he was going to announce with. We respected his wishes in waiting for the video – which never ended up coming. He did truly have an issue with making it, but A&M was also working behind the scenes to slow things down a bit. They made sure to let him know he was wanted, but also that they weren’t quite ready to take a QB. That’s when you saw Hornsby say he wanted to slow things down and look at other schools. That was partly his decision and partly A&M’s. Eventually, the Aggies went all-in on Haynes King, so it was obvious they moved in a different direction. Darrell Dickey remained in contact with Hornsby and the Aggies still recruited him as an athlete. He even took an official visit with teammate Devon Achane. But, he wanted to play quarterback and, after hearing the different pitches on his official visit for how he would be used, he eliminated A&M from consideration. He told me that the next week. There likely would not have been room anyway, even as an athlete, but that was pretty much the end of it. A&M is happy with King and Hornsby is happy to have gotten a chance to play QB in the SEC at Arkansas, so it all worked out. But, there was definitely a reason for the initial ‘delay’ in his announcement. -For a little while, Haynes King was honestly torn between Tennessee and A&M. He had been recruited by Tennessee a lot longer than he had by the Aggies. However, A&M gave him the chance to stay close to home and be the only quarterback in a class. The Aggies are also going to have the starting QB spot open in the 2021 season. For a while, he was still torn as a ‘head vs. heart’ thing, but that did not last too long. The delay was more about him finding a way to tell Tennessee ‘no.’ He had built a solid relationship with the staff. Once he did that, he announced for A&M the next day. -At running back, A&M very much wanted EJ Smith to sign in December. He had given some signals that he planned to pick the Aggies. However, an unofficial visit to Stanford late in the season opened his eyes. We were told from the Stanford side right after the visit that the Cardinal thought the trip was a home run. Still, though, he was talking to A&M a lot. Stanford’s confidence started to wane a bit. It was not until late the night before the Early Signing Period that Stanford basically got the news he would be picking them the next day. A&M tried to counter, but it just did not end up happening. I know some people here think that A&M’s pursuit of Evans hurt the Aggies with Smith, but it really was just the combination of football and academics at Stanford that won out in the 11th hour. -When five-star wide receiver Demond Demas committed to A&M at the Clemson game during his junior season, it came as a surprise. He had not included the Aggies in his most recent top-5. However, he was always changing that around and moreso wanted to ‘feel the love’ more from A&M. Not including them was certainly a way to get that attention. Demas made that commitment and wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig was a big reason why. However, there were rumors right after that he might decommit. There were legs to those rumors as he thought he might have decided too early. He was strongly considering backing off his pledge. However, Craig really went to work there and kept him in the fold and the rest was history. He became the leader of the class and was in Aggieland seemingly every weekend. -This is a short note but the Troy Omeire flip to Texas caught a lot of people offguard. Texas had remained in contact with him, but nobody really expected anything to come from it. I had just been out to his practice like a week prior, and there was talk of it. Texas worked hard behind the scenes, so give them credit. In the end, though, A&M did not need four receivers in the class, so they didn’t chase after him to try to get him to flip back. -Four-star OG Akinola Ogunbiyi took an Uber to A&M all the way from Sugar Land for an unofficial visit once he got his offer. He committed almost immediately after. Though, when Jim Turner left for the NFL, he opening things up again. Many, including the staff in Norman, thought he was Oklahoma-bound. However, he had taken an under-the-radar trip to Georgia and was sold on the Bulldogs. He put out a graphic before his Oklahoma visit that had a dog paw print small in the corner of it as sort of a hint that he planned to be a Bulldog. After committing to Georgia, Ogunbiyi made a ‘secret’ official visit to A&M. That was when he started strongly considering flipping back to the Aggies. A couple weeks later, he made a ‘secret’ unofficial visit and that is when he committed to the coaches. Just like I had with his Crystal Ball for Georgia, I had agreed with Aki that I would not switch anything until close to his announcement. He planned to return home to Sugar Land and then announce the next day. Well, A&M did not want to take the risk of the Bulldogs talking him out of things. Dameyune Craig wanted to make sure he went public with it, so convinced Aki to do it then and there. That, my friends, is how I took the first hit on my Crystal Ball picks in the class. I knew it was coming, but kept to his wishes. But, I was foiled by Craig ha! -It seemed at one point that Athens offensive lineman Garrett Hayes would be an Aggie. He came from an A&M family and A&M was recruiting him heavily. In the end, that actually sort of backfired a bit. He wanted to do his own thing, and not the thing that was expected of him. Arkansas looked like the most likely destination, but TCU got that visit on the Frogs’ bye week and that cemented them as the ones likely to land him. Hayes never did take an official to A&M. On his last unofficial, it was a bit telling that he wasn’t all that interested in seeing the campus or facilities or anything. He wanted to go fishing. So, he and some of the staff went out to Research Park and just went fishing. -Other schools, namely Florida and Maryland, were working Fadil Diggs really hard prior to the Early Signing Period. There was even a report that he was not going to sign that day. Turns out, that report was false. Diggs actually sent his NLI really early and A&M held onto it until he announced. There were some people around him worried that Elijah Robinson might leave and that’s where the rumors started, but Robinson worked hard to alleviate the concern. -With McKinnley Jackson, even before his visit, we were getting reports of some serious optimism from A&M. The Aggies had worked hard to get the final visit but, also, Jackson wanted to use his final visit to A&M as well. We got more reports after the trip that A&M really liked where it stood. However, so did Alabama. The Tide are not normally wrong in this, so it gave me pause when they seemed to feel so good about landing him. However, late Tuesday night, I talked to two different people that are quite plugged in and both said A&M was very, very confident in getting him. It still didn’t match up with what Alabama thought, but these were from two completely different sources, so I felt pretty good about putting the Crystal Ball prediction in. Even when the announcement rolled around, I still was only about 75% in my head that it would be the Aggies. Jackson apparently had done an interview earlier in the week where he said he has known for a year where he was going, but I think that was an exaggeration. However, A&M had felt good for a bit, so him saying that he told the ‘winning’ staff a couple months ago could be true. However, he also gave a couple other staffs at least the impression that he was choosing them. Jimbo, Robinson and Terry Price all did a very, very good job on this one. It was all about connections and they built those with Jackson from the beginning. -Staying at defensive tackle, the Vernon Broughton saga seems like a long time ago now. When Broughton came to camp in June, he actually did so trying to earn a spot in the class. A&M wanted to see him in action in person, and he knew that coming to camp was essentially an ‘audition.’ The fact that he showed up anyway, despite being highly-ranked, was pretty telling of his interest in the Aggies. However, Texas had his family in its corner. They also had put the full-court press on him. A&M was recruiting him really heavily as well, but probably not quite as hard as Texas. Once he decided to make a video, it was a done deal to the Longhorns. Even with the delay, it was still going to be Texas. Texas was very much in the know on everything with him and it was obvious that he was communicating way more with them than anybody else. I don’t know how many he told this, but Broughton did tell a couple A&M commits that he was going to be an Aggie. I don’t know if he was intentionally trying to mislead, if he had trouble telling them no or if he was a bit torn, but that is likely why other outlets had him predicted to be an Aggie. -As for Josh Ellison, I honestly still don’t know exactly what happened. I’m just including him in here because I know people will ask. He was a full qualifier and could leave Blinn at any point. He also could have gone to any school. In talking to both him and the Blinn coaches, I never pushed for an exact reason, but A&M just said it was going in a different direction and there was not a spot in the class anymore. -Though Illinois did make things a little interesting late, Antonio Doyle was basically committed to the Aggies for quite some time. He had rushed into making a pledge to in-state Missouri in the spring on an unofficial visit. That was surprising because everybody around him said he was expected to be an Aggie. He ended up cancelling his spring official visit to A&M. Over the summer, though, he began to have second thoughts. And he started favoring A&M again and pretty much told A&M he was coming. However, he was concerned about decommitting in that it could affect a big decision surrounding his high school team. Standout four-star junior Travion Ford had an eligibility hearing coming up after transferring in the offseason. Doyle was worried about potential political repercussions for his team if he decommitted from the in-state school. So, he held back on doing so until the decision. Then, as soon as the ruling for Ford came down, Doyle decommitted from Missouri that same day. (Side note: Ford was actually ruled ineligible. But, a few weeks later, he won his appeal). Illinois really worked hard by using the distance factor, especially with Doyle having a young child. But, in the end, he went public with his A&M commitment and signed with the Aggies. -Over the summer, A&M made a number of cornerback offers and was actually in good position to land several of them. The problem was, they all wanted to commit around the same time. The Aggies had to make a decision on which one or ones to take. They ended up deciding that their main target was Joshuah Moten. He had been a heavy A&M lean since decommitting from Penn State in order to use his official to Aggieland. There were two other players – Joseph Johnson out of Virginia and Joey Hunter out of Georgia – that were planning to commit to A&M as well. In tough phone calls, A&M had to let both know that there was not a spot. Johnson ended up at Penn State and Hunter at South Carolina. -4-star Shadow Creek S Xavion Alford told me right before his fall camp started that he was about to commit to A&M. He had a public timeline that was supposed to be later, but he said he was going to commit that next week. Alford ended up announcing that next week, as he had told me, but decided to go with Texas. The Longhorns did a good job there but the Aggies deciding to pass on Joshua Eaton, who was also scheduled to announce for A&M around the same time, was a big deal to him and caused Alford to look stronger at Texas. A&M really likes its secondary haul, so it worked out not getting either player. But, they basically had to choose a package of Eaton and Alford or neither and rolled the dice with neither. -If you are keeping track, here are the guys in the class that made ‘silent’ commitments quite a bit before announcing publicly: Antonio Doyle, Chris Morris, Muhsin Muhammad III and Darvon Hubbard

McKinnley Jackson (Tuesday night) 12 VIP Brian PerroniSTAFF Posted on 12 mins, V I P, User Since 198 months ago, User Post Count: 0 So this one is basically coming down to who you ask. And both sides feel good about things. However, both sides also know he could be a wildcard. -As you've seen, there is optimism on the Alabama side. They have been in this a long time and been in good standing for a long time. They also convinced him to come on an unofficial visit two weekends ago and saw Nick Saban visit his grandmother, who works in a nursing home. Alabama also usually wins these battles. There is reason for them to be optimistic and the optimism seems to be increasing as we get closer to the announcement time. -But, A&M is getting more optimistic as well. I had been hearing that the Aggies were in better shape than many people thought heading into his official. Other schools were discounting A&M a bit, but I had heard from a couple places that it was an Aggie/Tide battle. And those people turned out to be right. Jackson has remained in contact with A&M this week. He has also been talking to Alabama. But, a couple sources feel A&M is the one to beat here on the eve of the recruitment. -All this to say - People around Alabama believe he ends up with the Tide. People around A&M believe he ends up with the Aggies. This one could go either way and it wouldn't be a shock. I still am leaning towards A&M but Nick Saban is a veteran here and knows what he is doing. However, we saw two years ago that the Aggies completely caught Bama offguard by landing Bobby Brown on Signing Day, so it is possible.

aggy Super Bowl & mutton busting party VIP ByANDREW HATTERSLEY The final weekend before National Signing Day and a nearly-month long dead period will be a significant one for Texas A&M with both a key official visitor and a Junior Day set to take place this weekend. The weekend will begin with one of the final targets left in the 2020 class four-star defensive tackle McKinnley Jackson arriving on campus for his final official visit before making a decision next week. After Jackson departs on Sunday, A&M will host its first junior day later in the afternoon with plenty of top targets expected to be in attendance for the Super Bowl party. The list is headlined by five-star defensive end Landon Jackson along with his teammate four-star defensive end Marcus Burris. The Pleasant Grove duo also received a visit from both the A&M and Texas coaching staffs on Wednesday after Jackson and Burris attended the Longhorns junior day earlier this month. Four-star linebacker target Terrence Lewis originally informed GigEm247 over the weekend that he planned to visit A&M this weekend but there are conflicting reports as to whether he will indeed make it into town and we are still working to confirm whether in fact he will be in attendance. Lewis had planned to visit with Northwestern safety Kamren Kinchens, who will not be able to make it into town. His teammate, four-star wide receiver Romello Brinson, is still expected to visit this weekend. A pair of commits North Shore four-star wide receiver Shadrach Banks and Denton Guyer four-star quarterback Eli Stowers are also expected to visit. Stowers will be joined by his teammate cornerback Deuce Harmon. After hosting four-star offensive tackle Reuben Fatheree for a visit last weekend, A&M will host another couple of key four-star offensive line targets Trey Zuhn and Bryce Foster. Four-star Cy-Fair running back LJ Johnson is also expected to be back in Aggieland after visiting for A&M’s final home game of the season against South Carolina. After Earnest Crowner committed to A&M earlier this month, he is expected to visit College Station along with his brother 2021 four-star Grandview tight end Dametrious Crownover. Jimbo Fisher and Co. will also host a pair of key four-star defensive targets Jordon Thomas and Kendrick Blackshire. Thomas also visited College Station for the Aggies final home game against the Gamecocks while this will be the first visit for Blackshire since last July when he also visited for A&M’s barbecue event on July. 26, 2019. Ridge Point offensive guard Caleb Rodkey and Dickinson outside linebacker Keith Cooper do not currently have offers from A&M but will also be at the Super Bowl party this weekend. Among the 2022 prospects expected are Armani Winfield, Bear Alexander, Bobby Taylor, Donovan Green and Jaylon Guilbeau. A couple key targets including four-stars Ishmael Ibraheem, Isaiah Brevard and Fatheree are also a couple to watch who could make it to campus. 2022 offensive tackle Kam Dewberry visited earlier this month and is also a possibility to return along with North Shore cornerback Denver Harris and 2023 El Campo running back Rueben Owens, who recently picked up an offer and has listed the Aggies among the early schools standing out to him. Full list of visitors expected: -Texarkana Pleasant Grove 5-star DE Landon Jackson -North Shore 4-star WR Shadrach Banks (A&M commit) -Denton Guyer 4-star QB Eli Stowers (A&M commit) -Texarkana Pleasant Grove 4-star DE Marcus Burris -Fort Collins (CO) Fossil Ridge 4-star OT Trey Zuhn -Miami (FL) Northwestern 4-star WR Romello Brinson -Katy Taylor 4-star OG Bryce Foster -Port Arthur Memorial 4-star DE Jordon Thomas -Duncanville 4-star LB Kendrick Blackshire -Cy-Fair 4-star RB LJ Johnson -Grandview 4-star TE/DE Dametrious Crownover -Denton Guyer CB Deuce Harmon -Frisco Independence TE Elijah Arroyo -Fort Bend Ridge Point OL Caleb Rodkey -Dickinson OLB Keith Cooper -2022 Lewisville 4-star WR Armani Winfield -2022 Dallas Skyline 4-star DT Bear Alexander -2022 Katy CB Bobby Taylor -2022 Dickinson TE Donovan Green -2022 Port Arthur Memorial CB Jaylon Guilbeau MAYBE -Hollywood (Fla.) She is lying about her mom. When I was on Hamm's super secret Facebook group, she said one of the reasons she moved to Texas other than business & Jimbo was her mom passed away and needed a fresh start. She left Hamm's FB group the 1st time because they were ragging on Winston. The 2nd time was when Hamm outed her as a bag lady.

Texas A&M to host some big-time talent this coming weekend By Brian Perroni The past couple years, Jimbo Fisher and Co. have seen some of the top 7-on-7 teams in the state of Texas make unofficial visits to Texas A&M with the entire roster in tow. They have always been in late-January and early-February. In fact, two years ago, the Aggies picked up a commitment from national top-100 safety Brian Williams out of a trip when he was thought to be leaning elsewhere previously. This coming Sunday, Jan. 26, the Fast Houston 7v7 team will be in Aggieland. That squad has a number of highly-ranked prospects. At wide receiver, the two headliners are in the class of 2021 in Dallas Skyline four-star Quaydarius Davis and Richmond Foster four-star Cody Jackson. Davis, ranked as the No. 77 prospect in the nation per the industry-generated 247Sports composite, was a one-time Texas commit that opened things back up not too long ago. He included A&M in his recent top five but the Aggies are still behind the other schools. This coming weekend could go a ways toward changing that, though. Jackson, ranked No. 95 overall, is an early Oklahoma pledge. He is solid to the Sooners, but would look around if there were a head coaching change before he arrived in Norman. A&M has yet to offer, but could do so this weekend. The other wide receivers on the roster are four-star junior and Texas commit Billy Bowman of Denton Ryan, four-star junior Theodore Knox from The Woodlands as well as a pair of sophomore in Randy Master from Alvin Shadow Creek and Decoldest Crawford from Shreveport (La.) Green Oaks. Crawford is committed to in-state LSU. Tight end Trent McGaughey of Shadow Creek will be there as well. The 6-foot-3, 224-pound class of 2022 prospect does not have an A&M offer at this point, but looked good at the Aggie camp over the summer. He has an impressive offer list. The biggest name at running back is sophomore Jaydon Blue of Klein Cain. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound class of 2022 prospect already has an impressive offer list and will be a national recruit. Like Davis, he has A&M in his top five, but the Aggies are currently behind his top three of Georgia, LSU and Texas. A&M has yet to offer, as have LSU and Georgia. It would not be a surprise to see him add them from all three schools in the near future. Four-star junior Brandon Campbell is also on the team and is a maybe at this point to be there. He played at Pearland this past season, but is currently at Lamar Consolidated. Hutto four-star defensive end Landyn Watson recently decommited from LSU and is wide-open at this point. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound junior has been to Aggieland numerous times, but has yet to pick up an offer. However, he is a player A&M is keeping close tabs on. At cornerback, there are several players that already have A&M offers that will be there. Those include Katy four-star junior Hunter Washington, North Shore sophomore Denver Harris and Port Arthur Memorial sophomore Jaylon Guilbeau. Class of 2022 Clear Lake cornerback Julian Humphrey made the move from wide receiver to defense this past season and is both big and fast. He is one to watch going forward as well. At safety, the biggest name is LSU four-star sophomore commit Bryce Anderson. Though the Beaumont West Brook class of 2022 defender made a very early commitment to the Tigers, he told us at the All-American combine that he is still planning to take visits to other schools and keep his options open. The other safeties are Clear Lake junior Mark Wilson, Richland junior CJ Baskerville and Shadow Creek sophomore Jaidan Scott. There could be some changes to the list as the team finalizes who will be there, but most of the above should be in town

OU Recruiting 2020: Everybody Hurts Sometimes
Longhornfrenzy replied to texifornia's topic in 🤫$9.95🤫
Brandon Drumm Posted on 5 hrs, V I P, User I am aware of Horns247 Mike Roach update, on Alfred Collins, where he stated Collins is saying he won’t be taking an unofficial to OU or Bama before deciding in February. If Roach reported it I 100% buy it because he is one of the best in the business. I will, however, do my due diligence on this over the next few days. Roach told me —on my 105.3 CBSSPORTS Radio Show in OKC last week — that he won’t write it off and say 100% Texas until the in-homes are done. The Sooners have two more to go and Riley will get one of those. That said, if it was to end today I would pick Texas (already CB’d them a while back) because of location and the fact he is a legacy with his mother having played basketball there. As far as why he took an unofficial to Texas? Obviously, one reason is because he wanted to do so, but the other was so he could see things in person with Texas having changed almost all of the defensive, including new DC Chris Ash. The visit just makes sense. I’ll look into it over the days to come and update on what I can find out. Just wanted to you all to have some clarity on why Texas visit makes sense and why getting to other visits isn’t necessarily the end all for OU or Bama. One last thing on Collins... I’m told Texas feels as confident as ever so OU has a ton of work to do here. Deandre Butler is a key piece in all of this, as well, with him having 4 years to play 3 years out of JUCO ranks. Two big-time DL for OU to try and close out on in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Will have more on his visit later this afternoon/evening, hopefully, as I’m slated to speak with him once the official visit has finished. Stay tuned for that and junior day updates throughout next 24-72 hours -

Where A&M stands with 15 top targets in the 2021 class VIP By BRIAN PERRONI With Texas A&M only having a few targets left in the class of 2020 after the Early Signing Period, the Aggies’ attention can now be turned to the next class. Though the first big junior day will not likely be until the Super Bowl, there will almost certainly be some top targets on campus once the dead period ends next Friday. Jimbo Fisher likes getting off to a hot start and would love to land a few more prospects in the not-too-distant future to join the current pledges in the class – four-star quarterback Eli Stowers and four-star wide receiver Shadrach Banks. This is by no means every player that Aggies are after heavily and there will also be a number of targets that pop up during the spring evaluation period, there are 15 players that are definite targets at the moment. A&M is in at least decent shape with all of them and is the outright leader for a few and in a small top group with others. Here is where things stand with 15 of A&M’s top targets in the class. KATY TOMPKINS DE TUNMISE ADELEYE Katy Tompkins five-star defensive end Tunmise Adeleye was scheduled to announce his decision earlier this month, but pushed it back to Aug. 1 as he was not ready to make a commitment. He recently released a top six but it is A&M, Alabama and Ohio State at the top right now. A&M was his first offer and has distance in its favor. If Texas runs a defense he likes more than the previous three-man front, the Longhorns could get back into things as well. TEXARKANA PLEASANT GROVE DE MARCUS BURRIS Marcus Burris is one of a pair of defensive ends at Pleasant Grove that are major A&M targets. He has long been very high on the Aggies and the talk around East Texas is that the 6-foot-4, 262-pound four-star prospect is a heavy A&M lean. If you are looking for a candidate to be the next commitment in the class for the Maroon and White, Burris is as good a guess as anybody. GRANDVIEW TE/DE DAMETRIOUS CROWNOVER Dametrious Crownover is a 6-foot-6, 235-pound four-star prospect that was offered by A&M as an athlete. The Aggies like him at either tight end or defensive end. They basically just want him in the class and will figure things out from there. He helped lead the Zebras to back-to-back state titles and is relatively open at this point. However, Crownover has been to A&M numerous times and has the Aggies as one of his top schools. If he does decide early, A&M is in good shape. RICHMOND FOSTER OT REUBEN FATHEREE This is a very strong offensive line class and the Aggies really need to do their best to clean up, especially in state. Reuben Fatheree is an athletic tackle that is also a basketball standout. An athletic 6-foot-7, 310 pounds, his ceiling is through the roof as a left tackle prospect. Fatheree has A&M as one of his top schools and has been to College Station a lot of times. The son of a basketball coach, he plans to take some official visits in the spring, but then could decide soon after. LSU is one of A&M’s main competitors for him, as is Notre Dame. KATY TAYLOR OG BRYCE FOSTER An incredibly gifted guard prospect, Bryce Foster has been starting on varsity for Taylor since his freshman year. The 6-foot-4.5, 318-pound four-star prospect helped the Mustangs to the state semifinals this season. He comes from an Aggie family as his mom is a former student and his brother a former walk-on at A&M. He has said he plans to wait a bit before making a commitment, but the Aggies are in a strong position. VIRGINIA BEACH (VA.) PRINCESS ANNE CB TONY GRIMES The nation’s top cornerback, five-star Tony Grimes has a ton of interest in the Aggies despite being from the East Coast. In fact, in each of the past two summers, he and his family have spent almost an entire week in College Station. He plans to return this coming April for an official visit. Clemson and Penn State are also going to get visits as he has a decision date planned for late November or early December. Grimes is a big fan of both Jimbo Fisher and cornerbacks coach Maurice Linguist and A&M has a very real shot at landing the elite prospect from out of state. DALLAS KIMBALL CB ISHMAEL IBRAHEEM A&M has offers out to a trio of in-state cornerbacks in the class and are recruiting each heavily. However, four-star Ishmael Ibraheem could be the prize. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound defender is still relatively new to football but has shown the athleticism and natural ability to pick up offers from the top schools in the country. He is not likely close to a decision at this point as he wants to take all his officials, but he has A&M in his top group as he is a big fan of Linguist as well. TEXARKANA PLEASANT GROVE DE LANDON JACKSON Landon Jackson is still a bit raw and that’s a scary thought for opposing offensive linemen. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound junior actually spent a lot of the year at outside linebacker in helping Pleasant Grove to a state title. The five-star prospect is one of the Aggies’ top overall targets and his father played basketball at A&M. His first offer also came from A&M defensive ends coach Terry Price as a freshman. The Aggies have a very good shot at landing Jackson, who says A&M and LSU are recruiting him the hardest right now. My Crystal Ball pick is on A&M. CY-FAIR RB LJ JOHNSON There are two running backs in the state that are 1A and 1B at this point and LJ Johnson is one of them. Playing in a tough Class 6A district, he averaged just shy of 10 yards per carry this season as he combine size with outstanding speed. Johnson ran an electronic 4.42 last spring. Johnson grew up a big fan of LSU as his family is from Louisiana and the Tigers might be A&M’s biggest competition. Texas is up there as well as those three will likely be the ones battling for him. MIAMI (FLA.) NORTHWESTERN LB TERRENCE LEWIS A&M went into Miami and landed national top-100 defensive end Donell Harris in the 2020 class. That not only landed the Aggies an elite pass rusher, it also helped their chances with five-star junior linebacker Terrence Lewis. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder visited Aggieland with Harris back in the summer. Lewis, who is incredibly fast and hits like a much bigger player, will likely be another battle with in-state Florida, though Nebraska is another school of interest. Harris will do his part in helping to convince his friend to end up in Maroon and White as well. HOUSTON EPISCOPAL OT CULLEN MONTGOMERY Though he has not received as much attention as his teammate, new Ohio State commit Donovan Jackson, offensive tackle Cullen Montgomery picked up a number of big offers in the spring and the summer. One of those came from A&M. Montgomery admitted that Fisher had him almost wanting to commit on the spot. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder is very high on the Aggies but Alabama, Michigan and Oklahoma are going to be the biggest competition for him. NORTH SHORE OL JAEDEN ROBERTS Even while still going to school in Kansas as a sophomore, Jaeden Roberts made his way to Aggieland on an unofficial visit and was offered. The 6-foot-4.5, 335-pound four-star lineman moved to Texas over the summer and played tackle in helping North Shore to another state title. The Aggies have been recruiting him as hard as anyone and are in as good of shape as anybody else. If A&M can find a way to get his older brother, linebacker Matthew Roberts, on campus as a potential grayshirt, it would make it very, very tough for anyone else to land the younger Roberts. The elder Roberts has A&M atop his list after being offered at camp over the summer. PORT ARTHUR MEMORIAL DE JORDON THOMAS Though Texas was the first Power 5 offer for four-star defensive end Jordon Thomas and the Longhorns have traditionally done very well in the Golden Triangle, the 6-foot-3, 240-pound junior has named the Aggies as his leader. There is talk around Port Arthur that Thomas, who broke his ankle in the first game this year and missed the rest of the season, could potentially be an early A&M commit. Don’t count out LSU or Texas, though. GARLAND LAKEVIEW CENTENNIAL RB CAMAR WHEATON Camar Wheaton burst onto the scene as a freshman when he ran for 429 yards and five touchdowns in a first-round playoff game after having only been brought up to varsity a few weeks prior. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound junior is now a five-star prospect as he has elite speed and, once he gets to the corner, is incredibly hard to catch, yet less tackle. Wheaton is one of the quieter prospects in the class and plays things close to the vest. However, all three of A&M, Oklahoma and Texas are in decent shape with him. He also took a ton of visits in the fall all around the country and is willing to go further from home for school. It is going to be a tough battle for any school looking to land him. FORT COLLINS (COLO.) FOSSIL RIDGE OT TREY ZUHN 4COMMENTS After Trey Zuhn attended a one-day camp at A&M this past summer, it was no surprise to see the 6-foot-5, 275-pound tackle immediately offered. Though he lives in Colorado, he has serious ties to A&M. He was born in College Station and has family, including grandparents as well as aunts and uncles, still living in Aggieland. Zuhn’s father was a walk-on at A&M and the young player grew up a fan of the Aggies. Still, a number of national programs are after him. I have my Crystal Ball on A&M but Ohio State and Oklahoma are both very much in the picture as well. Others to watch: Duncanville LB Kendrick Blackshire, Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood LB Junior Colson, Miami (Fla.) Central RB Amari Daniels, Fort Washington (Md.) National Christian Academy DE Monkell Goodwine, Denton Guyer CB Deuce Harmon, Prattville (Ala.) LB Ian Jackson, Philadelphia (Penn.) Northeast DE Elijah Jeudy, Washington (D.C.) St. Johns’s DT Taizse Johnson, Miami (Fla.) Northwestern S Kamren Kinchens, Oradell (N.J.)
