VIP News: The latest on 4-star CB Marcus Banks VIP ByBRIAN PERRONI 6 minutes ago Share 2 Comments Texas A&M losing cornerback commit Jeffery Carter to Alabama on Saturday night was not great timing with the Early Signing Period only being a week-and-a-half away. It will also pretty much be impossible to land someone else quite equal to his skillset, but the Aggies are not simply going to sign only one cornerback in the class. National top-100 prospect Erick Young plans to sign early with A&M and is locked in. Who will also be in the class, though? Spring Dekaney four-star Marcus Banks is the big target left. A one-time LSU commit, the 6-foot, 170-pound defender was close to making a commitment to A&M before the Tigers blew him away on an official visit. Now, he is back looking very heavily at A&M. Banks was thought to be an A&M-Alabama battle before both Florida and Florida State got involved. The Tide do not look to have room for him anymore, which is probably the only positive to come out of Carter’s flip. However, he has visited both the Seminoles and Gators the past two weekends. Both the Florida programs got late starts in recruiting Banks as he was only offered in the past couple months or so by each school. However, he has ties to Florida in that his father, the late Bobby Meeks, played there. That is obviously big for Banks but A&M has still positioned itself well. He was in Gainesville this past weekend and, while the trip went well, there is not a ton of optimism from the Gators on landing him. Florida State head coach Willie Taggart will be in-home with Banks this week, but there is not a ton of confidence from the Seminole side of landing him either. The talk there is that they have felt they have been behind both A&M and Alabama. Banks plans to announce at the All-American Bowl on Jan. 5 but very well could end up signing in the Early Signing Period and asking the school of his choice to keep it quiet until his announcement. I have my Crystal Ball on A&M still and feel good about it. It is not a done deal by any means, but the Aggies have done a great job recruiting him and, with the decommitment of Carter and A&M moving on from Bobby Wolfe, the depth chart is very favorable for him. Distance is also a big factor and was going to be a potential stumbling block even for Alabama. As for other names, we should have some updates on that front soon as well. The Aggies are still looking the junior college route but are not going to take somebody just to have a body. They are also looking at high school prospects from all over the country that are either uncommitted or they could flip -

10 recruiting storylines as early signing period approaches ByDAMON SAYLES 9 minutes ago Share 0 Comments In the final day of November, we've reached the 11th hour of recruiting for the early signees of the 2019 class. Dec. 19 is the first day football recruits can sign a national letter of intent during the NCAA's early signing period. The good news for Texas A&M fans is that many of the Aggie recruits are planning to take advantage of the early period, therefore ending any shot of another team flipping them. As Dec. 19 approaches, there are still a lot of questions that needs to be answered. The Aggies have 23 commits in the 2019 class, which means there are still a few holes to fill. And with the recruiting success of Jimbo Fisher and his staff last year, there's plenty of opportunity for this year's class to be completed with fireworks. Here are 10 storylines for fans to watch as the early signing period rapidly approaches. IS BANKS THE BIGGEST TARGET? We've all heard about the importance of landing quality linebackers in this class. Signing the best defensive backs is a priority for this team, as well -- which would explain why Houston's Marcus Banks arguably is the most important remaining target in the Aggies' 2019 class. Banks has Texas A&M, Alabama, Texas, Florida and Florida State among the top schools. He made it to College Station for back-to-back games in November, and the Aggies are hoping to close the deal. His commitment would mean Texas A&M having three 4-star cornerbacks in Banks, Erick Young and Jeffery Carter, as well as 4-star safeties Brian Williams and Demani Richardson. The secondary was a troubled area for Texas A&M on the field this season. Having these five players signed would give the upperclassmen a run for their money. WILL A&M LAND ANOTHER LINEBACKER? Linebacker is consistently a position of concern regarding Texas A&M recruiting. It doesn't help that the Aggies just lost its highest-ranked linebacker pledge in Christian Harris, who flipped from Texas A&M to Alabama on Wednesday. Texas A&M's 2019 class still has linebacker commits in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's Andre White Jr., Tallahassee, Florida's Tarian Lee Jr. and Dayton, Texas' RJ Orebo. All three are 3-star prospects, and White and Orebo are expected to sign in December. Lee said he's a firm commit but is still weighing whether or not he signs in December. A fourth linebacker would definitely help the class. Atlanta's Nick Jackson is a 3-star prospect who is committed to Virginia but really likes Texas A&M. Hampton, Georgia's Kevon Glenn is an uncommitted 3-star prospect who also would be a nice get for the Aggies. The big-fish land, however, would be Nakobe Dean -- and while the Aggies are still alive in the race for the Horn Lake, Mississippi, 5-star talent, Alabama and Georgia seem to be the frontrunners. ANOTHER 5-STAR ADDED TO THE CLASS? Nakobe Dean, the No. 1 inside linebacker in the 2019 class per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, was mentioned earlier -- and for valid reason -- but the Crystal Ball predictions currently have him headed to Georgia. You can bet Texas A&M will continue to fight for Dean until his signature graces the national letter of intent of another university. The relentlessness of Fisher's coaching staff is something that has become a pleasant discussion piece for fans of Texas A&M recruiting. There is no such thing as a commitment who is out of reach with this staff -- which keeps two 5-star prospects on the radar until they actually sign. Along with Dean, Amite, Louisiana, defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher is a player the Aggies are hoping to score the minor recruiting upset. Sopsher, the nation's No. 1 defensive tackle and No. 7 player overall, per the 247Sports Composite, is a heavy LSU lean, but he is taking an official visit to College Station this weekend. WHERE WILL STRIPLING END UP? For months, Texas A&M was believed to be the leader for Katy Mayde Creek 4-star defensive end Marcus Stripling. In recent weeks, however, some are wondering if he could end up playing college ball in another conference. Earlier this week, Stripling sent a message via social media that his top four includes Texas A&M, Oklahoma, LSU and Alabama. His Crystal Ball predictions shifted from being in favor of Texas A&M to being in favor of Oklahoma. But nothing is set in stone as Stripling plans on announcing and signing on Dec. 19. Stripling had his first in-home visit Thursday with LSU. He's only been on one official visit -- to Oklahoma the weekend of Nov. 9. He has been to Texas A&M multiple times on unofficial visits and was at Kyle Field for the marathon game against LSU. With early signing period less than three weeks away, every move Stripling makes will be watched closely. He's being recruited to Texas A&M by defensive ends coach Terry Price and defensive tackles coach Elijah Robinson. ANY DECOMMITS AFTER HARRIS? Texas A&M's 2019 recruiting class suffered a blow on Wednesday when Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 4-star linebacker Christian Harris flipped his pledge from Texas A&M to Alabama. Harris is ranked a top-10 inside linebacker nationally. Harris' decommitment came as a shock of sorts -- and it was news that Aggie fans are hoping not to repeat itself. While no other athletes are expected to decommit, a couple of athletes have been on watch. The 3-star duo of Tarian Lee Jr. and offensive tackle Adrian Medley are players in question, primarily because of their locations. Lee is from Tallahasse, Florida, while Medley is from Pensacola, Florida. Lee, however, had an in-home visit with Texas A&M on Thursday and told GigEm247 that nothing has changed with his commitment. Some Texas A&M fans also are keeping an eye on Mansfield Legacy 4-star cornerback Jeffery Carter. Alabama is a team trying to win him over, and he was in Tuscaloosa recently and will return for an official visit the weekend of Dec. 7. WILL A JUCO PLAYER SIGN? The first day a junior college player can sign a national letter of intent is Dec. 19. Will it be a day that the Aggies can add a college-experience player to its 2019 class? The biggest JUCO name associated with the Aggies is Dreshun Miller. The Eastern Arizona College 4-star cornerback is currently committed to LSU, but there have been discussions about him mutually parting ways with the Tigers -- and Texas A&M is on a short list of potential destinations. Arizona Western College 4-star cornerback Elijah Blades has been a name Aggie fans have asked about, but he's an Oregon commit. Independence (Kansas) Community College 4-star Kuony Deng would have filled a need at linebacker, but he committed to Cal on Nov. 23. If the Aggies sign a JUCO player, Miller could be the best option. He's a cornerback who also can play safety at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds. The biggest question involves whether or not the Aggies will need another defensive back commit -- assuming they keep who they have and land a player like Marcus Banks. DOES BREWSTER'S DEPARTURE PLAY A ROLE? When assistant coach Tim Brewsterannounced his plans to leave Texas A&M in order to reunite with head coach Mack Brown at North Carolina, it meant the Aggies not only lost their tight ends coach but also a solid recruiter. In retrospect, it doesn't look like Brewster's departure will play a huge role. Three players he committed to Texas A&M are Brock 4-star tight end Baylor Cupp, Converse Judson 4-star defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal and Dickinson 3-star tight end Jalen Wydermyer. Cupp and Leal are still committed. Leal said Brewster's news didn't affect his decision. Cupp had a successful in-home visit with Jimbo Fisher on Wednesday. And Wydermyer is looking forward to an official visit weekend beginning in a few hours. Brewster's departure was big, but fortunately for the Aggies, it doesn't seem like the news will play a major factor in current recruiting for the program. LANDING OUT-OF-STATE PICKUPS New York defensive end Adisa Isaac. Mississippi's Nakobe Dean. Louisiana's Ishmael Sopsher. Florida's Derick Hunter. There are a ton of solid out-of-state prospects strongly considering Texas A&M right now -- but "strongly considering" and "choosing" are miles apart as the early signing period rapidly approaches. The next few days will see an Aggies coaching staff already with a bulldog mentality ramp up its recruiting tactics in order to finalize a very solid 2019 class. All of the aforementioned are athletes who may end up elsewhere, but one guy to keep an eye on is Atlanta linebacker Nick Jackson. While he is currently committed to Virginia, he's had multiple conversations with GigEm247 about his respect for Jimbo Fisher and how much he likes Texas A&M. Jackson isn't expected to sign early, but this could be an advantage for the Aggies in finalizing the class. HOLDING ON TO 'SCOOBY' Louisiana 4-star linebacker Christian Harris decommitting then choosing Alabama was a blow for Texas A&M, and the Aggies want to make sure lightning doesn't strike twice, so to speak. The Aggies have another 4-star athlete the Crimson Tide are very high on. Mansfield Legacy cornerback Jeffery "Scooby" Carter is a Texas A&M commit who will be an early signee -- but will the Aggies hold on to him, or will Alabama pull him away? This has been a big question for weeks now, as he has legitimate interest in both programs. Since committing to the Aggies on July 28, Carter hasn't shut the door on the Crimson Tide; in fact, he has made a recent unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa, and he will return to the campus the weekend of Dec. 7 for an official visit. Carter is a huge piece to the puzzle that makes up Texas A&M's star-studded secondary class -- which arguably is the best 2019 defensive backs class in the country. He will be a huge land when he signs. Whether he'll wear Aggie maroon or Alabama crimson is still to be determined. WHICH COMMITS WON'T SIGN EARLY? Most of the 23 Texas A&M commits have agreed to sign their respective national letter of intent during the early signing period -- and that's good news. There are some names, however, to keep an eye on. Katy Taylor 4-star defensive end Braedon Mowry, A&M Consolidated 4-star defensive tackle Josh Ellison, Manvel 3-star offensive lineman Layden Robinson and Tallahassee, Florida, 3-star linebacker Tarian Lee Jr. all have entertained the idea of taking advantage of early signing period, but none of the four have officially confirmed the idea. That's not to say it won't happen; that is to say, however, that they will be monitored. The good news is that, whether they sign during the early period or the regular period, they're all firm with their pledges with the Aggies. -

Brian Perroni 70896 6 minutes agoVIP Texas A&M took a big blow last night when Baton Rouge (La.) U-High four-star linebacker Christian Harris switched his pledge from the Aggies to Alabama. Though you never want to see your commitments visit another school – especially one that has multiple recent national titles – there was not a ton of concern on A&M’s part going in to this past weekend’s official to Tuscaloosa. They were not discounting it, but felt they could keep Harris in the fold. However, the visit went better than expected and Alabama had made Harris a priority. A&M definitely began to realize that it would be a fight. The Aggies will try to get an in-home and get Jimbo Fisher for one as well, but Harris plans to sign early so this doesn’t appear to have the makings of a Bobby Brown situation from last year. So where does A&M go from here? Before getting Harris’ commitment, A&M had a pair of Georgia linebackers on campus for unofficial visits. One of those, Kevon Glenn of Dutchtown, is still uncommitted. However, he has not heard from the Aggies much at all lately. He would be interested and, the good part for A&M, is that he is not likely to sign early. Glenn has not set up any official visits yet but will likely schedule them to Missouri and Georgia Tech soon. A&M liked what it saw from him enough to offer at one point and he is a pretty versatile player, so it would not be a huge shock to see him get some renewed interest. The other prospect was Nick Jackson of Atlanta Lovett. The 6-foot-1.5, 225-pound defender, who could play inside or out, liked what he saw from Aggieland on his trip but there just really wasn’t room once Harris committed. Jackson made a commitment to Virginia late last month and is pretty solid but renewed heavy interest from A&M would likely pique his interest. You also can’t forget five-star Nakobe Dean out of Mississippi. He officially visited for the UAB game and we had a big writeup yesterday on where things stood with him. A&M is No. 3 behind the 1A and 1B of Georgia and Alabama. The Aggies are selling the engineering program with him but also the fact that he can be the face of the defense. He wouldn’t be the “next Roquan Smith,” etc. at A&M. That is something that appeals to him as well. It’s an uphill battle with Dean for sure but A&M is not out of it. He is enrolling early and will take his final official visit this coming weekend to LSU. People have asked about LSU four-star commit Marcel Brooks. He’s an OLB or Rover, though, and I’m not sure he’s realistic. He has at least shown some interest but I don’t see him ending up at A&M. Others have asked about one-time LSU commit Zach Edwards out of Starkville, Miss. He has some hurdles to clear off the field and it’s pretty telling that he is not really being recruited by anybody at this point. He has long wanted to be part of the A&M class but he’s not in it, so you can read into that what you like. One person that has not heard from the Aggies yet but that could potentially do so is Matt Jones of Odessa Permian. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound athletic defender is set to play a combination of defensive end and outside linebacker for Baylor but could fit a number of spots. In the junior college ranks, Jashua Allen of Arizona Western had at least received interest from A&M at one point. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound defender is committed to Colorado but the Buffs are without a coach at this point. A year ago, Bradley Dale Peveto went into Louisiana and Georgia after the Early Signing Period and found a few unsigned guys he liked. While A&M did not end up inking any of them, you could see a similar strategy happen this year. The good news for A&M is that Andre White Jr. out of Pennsylvania is a guy that the Aggies love and his official visit this past weekend went very well. He plans to enroll early and, while other schools – namely Penn State – have not given up on him, I expect him to be in College Station in January. White can play inside linebacker, which is absolutely the biggest position of need -

Pumping that aggy sunshine Monday-afternoon VIP recruiting notes VIP ByDAMON SAYLES 50 minutes ago 2020 WR commit Demond Demas (Photo: Brian Perroni, 247Sports) Saturday had a ton of out-of-state visitors at Kyle Field watching the seven-overtime instant classic between Texas A&M and LSU. Fort Myers (Florida) Dunbar defensive end and Florida State commit Derick Hunter didn't make the trip, but he was tuned in -- like a large part of the country -- and defined what he saw in three simple words. "It was crazy," he said. Hunter told GigEm247 late Sunday that his interest in Texas A&M is still very high, and he will decide among the Aggies, Florida State, Miami and Florida on Dec. 19. He will be an early enrollee and plans on signing that day, the first day of the early period. Hunter took an official visit to Texas A&M the weekend of Oct. 5 and was blown away by what he saw in College Station. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound, 4-star defender was a part of nearly 100,000 fans then to watch the Aggies beat Kentucky in overtime. With the 2020 early signing period still roughly 13 months away, it's vital for the Aggies to keep their five commitments engaged and committed. A game like Saturday definitely helps -- and 5-star wide receiver commit Demond Demas was there to enjoy every second. Demas was one of the biggest fans throughout the seven-overtime show, and he spoke about the feeling of watching the Aggies close the deal against an LSU team they've never beaten as an SEC representative and an LSU program they beat for the first time in 23 years. "Texas A&M vs. LSU was the best game I have ever been to," Demas said. "For my school to play how they played last night, [I'm] happy to be an Aggie." Demas is the nation's No. 3 wide receiver and No. 20 overall player in the 2020 class, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. Texas A&M's 2019 class is sitting at 24 commits and is nationally ranked No. 2 overall behind Alabama. The class features a bunch of talented players on both sides of the ball, and while the Aggies are hoping to flip Hunter from Florida State, one question involves another athlete to potentially flip. Junior college cornerback Dreshun Miller has been committed to LSU since June 23, but there has been talk of Miller and LSU mutually parting ways. Texas A&M has been identified as potential destination, and since last week, Miller has had four Crystal Ball predictions switched from the Tigers to the Aggies. There is mutual interest with both sides, but the big question involves whether or not there will be enough spots for the Aggies to add Miller to the class. Texas A&M has four spots remaining in its 2019 class, and there are a few athletes who can fill those voids. What may help Miller is that he's a cornerback who, at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, can also play safety. The Aggies are in need of cover cornerbacks, and if Miller is a fit, he will have three years to play two seasons. Ask most of the recruits in attendance, and get the same answer about Saturday's game. Four quarters and seven overtimes, all encapsulated in a five-hour window, made for historic memories left and right. 2020 offensive tackle Jaylen Garth -- who has five Crystal Ball predictions, all of them favoring recruiting rival Texas -- was at a loss for words after the game finally ended. Saturday wasn't the 3-star prospect's first time in College Station, but you can bet he'll have stories for life regarding a game like the one the Aggies and Tigers played. And that's a good thing for Texas A&M. "That was a crazy game," Garth said. "I think A&M has the best fans and game-day atmosphere." Texas A&M could use a tackle like Garth in the 2020 class, as the class is loaded with offensive linemen projected to play guard in Akinola Ogunbiyi, Jordan Jefferson and Josh Bankhead. Smart Chibuzo is the only lineman committed who is projected to play tackle -

Brian Perroni 70756 26 minutes agoVIP Texas A&M has 24 commitments in the class of 2019 at the moment. The Aggies can technically sign a max of 28 under NCAA rules as three can count back toward last year’s limit. However, A&M must see a ton of attrition this offseason to get to the point where it can take that many. The Aggies will definitely have attrition – it happens every year with every school, but A&M will likely have more than usual. However, taking 28 is not a 100-percent guarantee. A&M could take 26 or 27 as well. So where do things stand? CURRENT COMMITS Texas A&M has 24 commits and almost all are solid in their pledges. Nine of them are graduating early and set to enroll in January as well. There are two main guys to keep an eye on, though. The biggest is national top-100 cornerback Jeffery Carter of Mansfield Legacy. The nation’s No. 89 overall prospect has been committed to the Aggies since the summer, but had come close to committing to a few other schools before that. One of those was Alabama as the Tide almost got a pledge from him after an offseason unofficial visit. Nick Saban and Co. have not given up and had him in Tuscaloosa for an unofficial a couple weekends back. He is also set to officially visit Alabama the weekend of Dec. 7. The good news for A&M, though, is that Carter made his way to Aggieland the past two weekends. He hung out with a number of other commits and current players. The best case scenario would obviously be him canceling his Alabama official – he already pushed it back from this past weekend – but even if he doesn’t, A&M has done all it could. Jimbo Fisherwill get an in-home before the Early Signing Period and Carter will enroll early at whatever school he chooses. The other current commit to potentially watch also involves Alabama. Four-star linebacker Christian Harris out of Baton Rouge (La.) U-High officially visited Tuscaloosa over the weekend. However, he plans to sign in December and A&M is not incredibly worried about him flipping. Remember, Harris committed to the Aggies only a couple days after visiting Alabama over the summer. He has built a very strong rapport with defensive coordinator Mike Elkoand linebacker coach Bradley Dale Peveto and his family is very high on A&M. A SECOND TIGHT END Texas A&M has the No. 1-ranked tight end in the country per 247Sports committed in Baylor Cupp of Brock. However, with a dearth of players at that position on the roster, the Aggies want another in the class as well. The only target is Dickinson’s Jalen Wydermyer and it is a pretty much a two-team battle. Though he also lists Alabama in his top three, this one will come down to A&M and Miami. Wydermyer and his family officially visited Miami earlier this month and he and his parents all liked it more than they expected to. However, A&M has long felt good about landing him and for good reason. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound senior has his official visit set to College Station in December and plans to sign early, announcing his commitment on Dec. 19, the first day of the Early Signing Period. It would be a surprise if he chose anywhere but A&M. WHAT HAPPENS WITH UGWOEGBU? Texas A&M’s other major in-state target is David Ugwoegbu of Katy Seven Lakes. The 6-foot-4.5, 225-pound defender has played both defensive end and linebacker in high school and is being recruited for a hybrid role at A&M. Ugwoegbu was long considered a very heavy Aggie lean. However, after officially visiting Oklahoma the weekend before last, the Sooners felt a lot more confident, again for good reason. Oklahoma made up a ton of ground and, though Ugwoegbu had been basically assumed to be a near Aggie lock beforehand, the Big 12 program has emerged as a very real threat. The good news for Texas A&M is that the Aggies will get him on campus for an official visit the weekend of Dec. 14. It would be a surprise if A&M were not able to retake the momentum then. Ugwoegbu has a strong relationship with Terry Price and also experienced the Kyle Field environment over the weekend. At the moment, Ugwoegbu says he plans to wait until February to sign because he has always had that date in mind. However, you can bet that A&M encourages him to sign in December. The Aggies really want him in the class and would love to have him locked up as they try to close on only a few remaining prospects between the December and February signing periods. WHO ELSE ON THE DEFENSIVE LINE? The other big target along the defensive line is four-star Derick Hunter of Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar. Currently a Florida State commit, the 6-foot-5, 285-pound defensive end officially visited Texas A&M in early October. Talking to some people in the Sunshine State, nobody is really 100-percent sure on what Hunter will do. However, not many people expect him to stick with his pledge to the Seminoles, despite him being in Tallahassee for an official visit earlier this month. Right now, the consensus is that the most likely landing spot is Florida, where he officially visited this month as well. Hunter has previously been committed to Miami, so it would make it a big three trifecta of the Sunshine State for him. Hunter is set to graduate early, so will be signing in December. Fisher will definitely be making a trip to see him sometime in the next month. The other player still in the mix at least somewhat is Katy Mayde Creek defensive end Marcus Stripling. Once on the verge of an Aggie commitment, Stripling could have possibly waited a little too long. At the moment, there does not really appear to be room, but things could change. He was at Kyle Field on Saturday. Most assume Stripling will end up at Oklahoma, where he recently officially visited, but he also really likes Alabama and LSU. However, the two SEC West programs don’t appear to have room at the moment. Stripling will likely decide to wait and not ink a letter-of-intent in December, so A&M could get back in the race should the Aggies choose to. JUCO HELP? A week ago, Texas A&M hosted four-star LSU cornerback commit Dreshun Miller of Eastern Arizona C.C. After the visit, there were a number of Crystal Ball predictions come in for the Aggies. However, we are not ready to make that call. Most of the Crystal Ball predictions were from LSU media. Basically, he is not expected to sign with the Tigers. With Miller having just visited A&M, it made sense to switch the picks to the Aggies. With the numbers scarce, though, A&M would prefer a pure cornerback and there is some concern that Miller will have to be a safety at the next level. Should A&M decide it can take Miller, expect him to end up on the commit list. However, no decision has been made at this point. ANOTHER CORNERBACK? After the recent parting of ways with Bobby Wolfe, it left Texas A&M with a spot to fill at cornerback. The main candidate for that spot is a familiar name that was close to becoming an Aggie commit back in the spring. Spring Dekaney four-star Marcus Banks was leaning heavily to A&M before an LSU official visit swayed him and he committed back in June. However, he reopened his recruitment in mid-October. Banks has already used his official visit to A&M but has been in College Station twice recently on unofficials. Though he has official visits upcoming to both Florida and Florida State, this one appears to be yet another A&M-Alabama battle. Barring he and his mom being being blown away either the Gators or Seminoles, A&M seems the likely destination. The Aggies are pushing harder than Alabama and, again, he was close to an A&M commitment previously. However, he was at Alabama for an unofficial this past weekend. Banks plans to announce at the All-American Bowl on Jan. 5. That would seemingly mean he does not plan to sign in the Early Signing Period, which lasts from Dec. 19-21. However, it would not be a shock to see him sign with a school and have that program sit on it until he announces on national TV. QUICK NOTES -Houston North Forest four-star offensive tackle and Texas commit Javonne Shepherd did not make it to A&M this past weekend. That likely closes the door with him and the Aggies. -Fort Bend Dulles athlete Ainias Smith, who could play cornerback or wide receiver, plans to wait until February to sign and A&M is still actively recruiting him. There’s a good chance he officially visits this coming weekend but him wait will allow the Aggies to see where they stand as far as scholarship numbers. -Five-star linebacker Nakobe Dean out of Mississippi had a good official visit to A&M for the UAB game but the Aggies are still fighting an uphill battle against Georgia and Alabama. The Aggies are really selling the engineering angle, though. Dean is an early enrollee -
