  1. I met a kind lady at the SEC Championship. We were seated together, as we'd both gotten our tickets through the Longhorn Foundation. We got to chatting, and exchanged contact info. I always take button with my father's face (my dad passed away in 2023) to games to continue our "tradition" of going to/watching games together. She noticed, and we talked about him. I attended the Peach Bowl, and was pleased we were once again seated together. I had to coach her through the game (lol), and explain our path to victory against Arizona State. She took the photos of me sobbing after. πŸ˜‚ Neither of us got tickets through LHF for the Cotton Bowl, but were obviously going to find a way to attend anyway. She asked if i had any pictures of Daddy and me....I didn't think anything of it. She asked where I was sitting. And brought me this. The day before his birthday. So he could see better. πŸ₯Ή It was so nice for a moment to not have to be the "strong and resilient" one who takes care of every one else and just be the girl who misses her Daddy. To receive comfort without expectation of something in return. There IS still kindness in the world. There ARE still good people out there. And I'm so grateful to her for this beautiful gesture. πŸ’™πŸ€˜πŸΎ
  2. Lol! This shirt is older than the entire football team...probably time to turn it into a quilt anyway. But thank you!!
  3. Took longer to walk to the polling location than it did to vote. Not mad at the Longhorn on the sticker...but the young man with the a&m baseball cap that handed it to me seemed miffed...😏🀘🏾
  4. Similar experience, but we were in line for just over 60 minutes and didn't make it to our seats until after Quinn's int/ou's missed fg. 😑
  5. From Downtown Detroit......FIGHT! 🀘🏾
  6. Hopefully not! Unless we start doing the Broadway lottery ticket thing....otherwise - such is the price for being good. 🀘🏾 But to your point, I'd rather not have to donate eggs to afford tickets...
  7. Anyone else staying for the Rams/Lions game. Matt Stafford's return so it should be chippy....
  8. Saw it this afternoon. Was everything I wanted a summertime movie to be. Corny at places....suspend common sense and you'll have a good time.
  9. Welp, that was quite a morning and it's only 9. Tornado sirens went off in Valley Ranch around 6am, and I've been chilling in the shelter since then. Wind is starting to pick up again....
  10. It went to my junk folder, so I thought this was fake - looks like I'm getting tickets too!! 🀘🏾
  11. It looked like a walking person with the multiple vortices....scary
  12. How horrible. The experts say to put babies in car seats, as should the worst happen and your house is hit, they're more protected in the seat.
  13. No Aggies here - I'm a Longhorn undergrad and Tar Heel MBA. Dr Sister is a Wolverine undergrad (hence why I'm looking for tix to that game) and Spartan MD, and little sister is a Yellow Jacket undergrad (and heckuva engineer)
  14. Don't feel bad - made me laugh! And thanks for the "young" - everyone in that pic is 39 years old or older. πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Parents would have hit their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Today was sad but y'all made me laugh...I appreciate it 🀘🏾

  16. 2 sisters - I'm the middle. Oldest is a doctor and married...youngest is an engineer. I just have a MBA. He and my mom did all right with us, I think.
  17. πŸ˜‚ I was at the Surly event in New Orleans...I think there's a picture posted somewhere on here. Or on the Surly Twitter.
  18. And just because I'm still pretty thrilled with how we sent him off....there was also a parade of classic cars that escorted him that day, as he was a car guy (he owned all of this models during his lifetime). A '66 Chevy Nova, '47 Ford truck, '56 Chevy Bel Air....and this Harley. I have his last project car - an '88 911. I'll ask later if anyone knows of a good shop in DFW that can help me get it running.
  19. I'm a woman. :: gestures towards profile pic:: He definitely taught us (my sisters and I..me? GrammarπŸ₯΄) as we bought our homes...just kind of took for granted that he'd always be available for questions. We buried him a year ago today. πŸ’™
  20. I WISH I could call my dad for help! 😭 But hopefully he's proud that it got figured out without me paying money....even though I'd be in "trouble" for the thread title...πŸ˜‚
  21. They also forgot to remove a cap on the disposal which lead to the dishwasher not draining...it's been a struggle. πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ
  22. Also....that's what she said. 😏
