  1. The new name being rumored is Blake Baker for DC. Missouri's DC.
ESPN efficiency ranks as a DC:
    Missouri '23 (#25)
    Missouri '22 (#24)
    Miami '20 (#42)
    Miami '19 (#26)
    LA Tech '18 (#90)
    LA Tech '17 (#86)
    LA Tech '16 (#91)
    LA Tech '15 (#54)

Honestly, taking the A&M DC gig is a pretty solid career move. Elko’s defenses are always salty and his O under Klein will eat clock, so you’ll look great to future employers. And you’d obviously get an absurd payday.

Glad you enjoy Saban winning a turf war against Sark. Good job dumb ass.

Whoopdie fucking doo! Sark lost a dick measuring contest over a flakey high school kid.

He just signed his third straight top 5 class, and now he has an extra scholarship to go grab a contributor in the portal or a late developer during NSD2.

Man it is open season on Florida's recruiting class right now. Napier was killing it in July and now it's all falling apart.

Wonder if this late take means A&M knows they're losing Evans and/or McKinley.

It certainly seems like this is insurance for Evans/McKinley. They probably want at least 1 DL in the boat on Early Signing Day as both Evans/McKinley could go the distance.

Higher average than FSU with 1 less commit. Even with Tyanthony Smith added we are still behind FSU at 289.28

It will take a getting a Dominic McKinley or Dealyn Evans flip to pass up FSU but that would also secure us a top 3 class.

Another scenario to pass FSU would be if Auburn can actually flip KJ Bolden, they're allegedly working hard to achieve that.

FYI -- 247 has updated our overall class rank to #3, but we're still sitting at #5 in composite score...

  5. The conferences are roughly equivalent. Sagarin has the Big 12 third behind the Pac-12 at 2nd, but the ratings are essentially a tie at 78.28 and 78.18. Massey has the Big 12 2nd and the Pac-12 third, but again the ratings are almost a dead tie at 7.85 and 7.84.

The PAC-12 got a ton of credit for “impressive” wins against Texas Tech, Baylor, Michigan State, Florida and Wisconsin in out of conference… Which all ended up being mediocre to terrible teams lol.
  6. Honestly, players at the major programs should receive a cut of the school's TV revenue instead of NIL donations from private sources... I doubt big money donors have the stamina to keep up the endless stream of NIL contributions. And asking the average fan to fund the roster's payroll is absurd when the program makes 100s of millions a year.

That is not the visit list of a coveted qb.

Murphy is still so raw and developmental -- Texas found ways to win in spite of his turnovers... I doubt coaches at the bigger P5 programs want to drop a massive NIL QB bag on him when there are other options with a higher floor...

With Matthew Golden looking like a lock to UT, do y'all still think Baron Browning from Kentucky will be the 2nd portal WR that UT takes? With UT losing 3 bigger body X WRs after this season to the portal & NFL Draft, you'd think UT would want a portal WR in that mold.

Ketch -- what's the back story behind your Twitter avatar? It's fucking weird.

  9. An aggy recruiting bump is going to be tough given we made the playoff, and the Texas staff is wise in getting younger recruits to games all season, laying the groundwork.
Elko's staff is awful in terms of Texas recruiting ties.

And LSU in year 3 of Brian Kelly is coming off the exposure of a Heisman winner… And OU is coming into the SEC with the momentum of a 10 win season (even if their schedule was fraudulent)… And Bama/UGA will continue to cherry-pick whoever Texas/LSU/OU don’t snag…

Aggy is not well-positioned in the recruiting landscape rn.
  10.

Aggy always operates under the assumption that they will be the only team who improves year-over-year.

In their delusion, they’re convinced next year’s schedule is easy but:

ND is one of the top programs in CFB history. @Florida in the swamp is never easy (even if it is Napier). Drinkwitz has a good thing going at Mizzou. @USCe and @MSU aren’t a sure thing… LSU beats them ~8 times out of 10. @Auburn will be tough facing Hugh Freeze in year 2… Texas beats them ~8 times out of 10 historically and is coming off a CFP berth…

  11. Strange to me that nobody on the Texas side has said anything about smith- that I’ve seen on this thread.  I’m always wondering who is scheduling visits to Texas to siphon some more money from them.

This could easily be the oldest trick in the Texags mod book: tell the sheep that “Texas is pushing really hard”, and then sell it as a big win when the recruit stays put.

Reminds me of Charlie Strong when he came here, and was bringing his Louisville targets. Lot of us were even excited I remember lol.

Cecil Cherry, DeAndre McNeal, the "Florida 5", and Devonaire Clarington really got the fanbase's juices flowing.

  13. Nahlin's stupidity is truly staggering... The Longhorns are a game away from playing for a national title with a level of hype and media attention the team hasn't enjoyed in ~15 years... His business was getting ready to boom, but he sabotages his relationships with Bobby / Gerry instead (the only 2x personalities people subscribe to listen to)...

Hope that Bobby / Gerry build an empire and IT becomes a ghost town.
