  1. Looks like Kelley and wife will be in Burnet Monday at a rally someone organized to protest recent Mannix hiring.
  2. And IIRC (or understood the lawyer speak) even after the local judge found him innocent (not ruling on ineffective counsel as the writ was removed) and sent it to the Court of Criminal Appeals........Hampton uncovered emails between her, her attorney, and a prosecutor representing the state before the CCofA where they continued to throw Kelley under the bus and try to deny his exoneration. She was in it to the end to keep him in jail, even when the threat of ineffective counsel was removed from the appeal - Then publicly uses his story as her personal experience with and reason for passion with regard to her new position advocating for rights of the unjustly convicted.
  3. My wife and I were talking about her last night and trying to rank her acts on an outrage scale In no certain order... 1) Protecting McCarty at the expense of Kelley - knowing his life will be destroyed 2) Knowing that there is a high probability that in protecting McCarty you are allowing him to victimize more kids 3) Fighting to keep Kelley imprisoned due to pride and / or continuing the protection of McCarty 4) Then using her representation of Kelley to bolster her own reputation and pretend like she was victimized by the system as well. She's a psychopath.
  4. The good news is that no one ever went to jail b/c the ate too many Jolly Ranchers or dipped too much snuff.
  5. Better shot of the contrast.
  6. Dug this out today. My old 92S that was beat all to hell over the years. I'm normally not a refinish guy but this one got sent off for a cerakote shower and clean grips. Doesn't show up but the barrel is black.
  7. Squandered is right...probably leukemia - covid induced at that. But, it could be just your body's reaction and very easily be related to "carb-flu". Same deal as anyone who has done Atkins, Keto or whatever...your body goes through withdrawals because it has been conditioned to live on those alcohol carbs for so long. It'll pass. Many of us experienced "unexplained" cravings for sweets when we dried out and come to find out it was a natural reaction to cutting out the sugars/carbs when we quit. Glad to hear that you were able to identify something that was objectionable to you and take action. Don't be a stranger if you like what you read here.
  8. Here's one that is "gently used" coming up at public auction in 3 months. Perazzi Rock Island runs nice auctions and their stuff always comes in better than their grading indicates - very conservative evaluations IMO. That auction coming up in October is one I'd like to attend live. 3 days and thousands of lots for sale.
  9. The "stay home if you feel bad" hasn't hurt us as we can work remotely making calls, doing bid and spec work, email, zoom - but it has hammered some manufacturers I work with. At the start, they told their employees they should stay home if they feel bad and that it won't impact their pay or PTO (at the time it seemed wise to keep sick people from choosing to work (infect others) to keep their income). No good deed goes unpunished and immediately a large chunk of their line workers started feeling bad right away and stayed home. Many went and got hired on other jobs like walmart stocking, lawn care, and construction to double dip on pay. The employer knows it is a problem and is being abused, but can't put the genie back in the bottle and it has slowed their production to a crawl. They have these rolling waves of people staying home for a week or two, finally getting tested, coming back - rinse and repeat. Lead times have tripled and quality has suffered. I don't have any solutions and every business is different. All we are trying to do is the next right thing based on the information we have at the time and remembering that we don't want to put profits ahead of people.
  10. Nothing will break up a yard party faster than a bunch of coyotes coming to the house looking for an easy meal.
  11. Anyone want Bonnie and Clyde's shotgun for a conversation piece? Wincester 1897 - Bonnie and Clyde
  12. I love 40s as much as I love 9’s but I’m a whore so it’s a low bar for me.
  13. Its telling that the availability of .40 is so much higher now than 9mm which is almost nonexistent. Shows just how many people dumped their .40's in the last few years. I still own and keep both, but I was looking last night at SG and Natchez among others and you can still get .40 but 9 is MIA all together.
  14. @Dr. Beeper @BabaYaga @dcar00 Points well taken - Maybe I didn't consider it closely enough, or maybe I've thinking more of excusing / defending obvious and very serious criminal behavior - I think that's where my thought process was........ that they'll ride or die even with those they know to be committing egregious felonies. Maybe I'm naive to the inner workings of other unions but that's where the distinction was made in my mind.
  15. Folks - this is exhibit A in how you humble-brag. Very subtle and understated, but checks several boxes - SO is in the c-suite. OP is a player in their profession and can gain international employment during a worldwide pandemic. ONLY a $250k-500k investment to pull it off. I applaud this and give +rep. Just kidding @LABEVO ! Rock on and do what make sense. If you've got the ability to do something like that, grab the adventure.
  16. Wife: How long should I bake this? Me: 45 minutes should be about right. Wife: It takes an hour. I always bake it for an hour. Me: ..........................................................................................................
  17. Isn't that approaching 50% of the population? Seems bad to me.
  18. The police union is the only professional group that comes to my mind which on balance vigorously and without question protects its own regardless..... and often to the detriment of the good /decent law abiding members. It has created a culture that punishes efforts to clean house from the inside and puts the bad cops in a dominant position above the good ones who are forced to go along to get along. What starts as a few bad apples literally spoils the whole bunch as witnesses to this behavior become complicit in the coverups and excuse making. You don’t see other industry or professional groups fight so hard to absolve bad actors of responsibility rather than to eliminate them from the group. Were police unions to not defend so blindly, and would actually ostracize those violators, the job wouldn’t retain or even attract so many of these bad actors.
  19. Some of the pump packages that contain everything from solar panels to pump have a little control panel that provides an on/off switch for the fill tank to stop an overflow and a low level cutout that shuts the pump off if the event the supply tank gets low. Its a two switch system. An electrician Or water well driller could also built the same thing with a contactor, a couple of relays and some basic knowledge. You’ll need a starter panel to have control over both the fill side and the supply side. Probably a pressure switch for the supply and a float switch for the fill tank but there are multiple ways to skin that cat depending on the exact setup Of your system.
  20. Hog cutters in a jar are a nice touch. Is that a decorating idea from the Waco couple?
  21. You could rig a solar water well pump and put it in a flow inducer sleeve (pipe with holes in it) and suspend that in the pond or lay it on board set on the bottom of the tank (anything to keep it out of the mud). Put a normally closed pump switch on the tank you are filling, or use a fill switch if you buy it as part of a kit. That switch turns the pump on at low level and off when you reach a high level or fill point. Solar well pumps don't put out a lot of flow but based on what you described, you don't need a lot of flow - just something you don't have to babysit. Several companies make kits that include everything you need to do just this application.
  22. Python I got in a one-sided trade, plus a couple of Savage 99's in .303 and .300 Sav.
  23. Late 40's Model 70 in .270 with a Norman-Ford Texan 4x scope
  24. Just did a safe shuffle and took some pics of some that grabbed my attention. 1990 1st year production S&W 610 10mm - never out of the plastic.
  25. Guns on back order - wonder why?
