I've been in love with Emily Blunt since I saw those legs in a miniskirt in The Adjustment Bureau.

Then I suggest you go have a look at her scene in Charlie Wilson's War.  You can spend a couple minutes wishing you were Tom Hanks.

I've listened to On point (I think it was On point) interviews with "journalists" stating who, what, when, where, and why were outdated journalistic concepts.

Jim Lehrer was probably the last true journalist.  His Rules of Journalism should be THE standard by which the profession is judged.

    Jim Lehrer's Rules of Journalism:

    • Do nothing I cannot defend.
    • Do not distort, lie, slant or hype.
    • Do not falsify facts or make up quotes.
    • Cover, write and present every story with the care I would want if the story were about me.
    • Assume there is at least one other side or version to every story.
    • Assume the viewer is as smart and caring and good a person as I am.
    • Assume the same about all people on whom I report.
    • Assume everyone is innocent until proven guilty.
    • Assume personal lives are a private matter until a legitimate turn in the story mandates otherwise.
    • Carefully separate opinion and analysis from straight news stories and clearly label it as such.
    • Do not use anonymous sources or blind quotes except on rare and monumental occasions. No one should ever be allowed to attack another anonymously.
    • Do not broadcast profanity or the end result of violence unless it is an integral and necessary part of the story and/or crucial to its understanding.
    • Acknowledge that objectivity may be impossible but fairness never is.
    • Journalists who are reckless with facts and reputations should be disciplined by their employers.
    • My viewers have a right to know what principles guide my work and the process I use in their practice.
    • I am not in the entertainment business.

I mocked him for carrying his rifle.  I picked him out of a small group, because I knew he couldn't catch me or fight me.  I never said anything about his size out loud.

I made him feel ineffectual for trying to intimidate people with his weapon and idiotic tactical gear in public.  I don't verbalize anything about people's physical appearances, ever.

I'm being an ass for calling this guy's complete lack of masculinity and self-confidence?  The kids picnicking on the grass nearby don't need to be frightened at this guy's weekend warrior bullshit.  The adults know what he was doing, but all kids see is an asshole with a huge fucking assault rifle which they only know because they have to go through school drills every semester where they learn more about weapon types than I ever did...and I come from a military family.

While I agree that dudes running around with rifles slung over their shoulders outside of a hunting scenario are ridiculous, I still can't help but hear the Song of Sir Robin in my head as you describe your retreat to your car when he invited you to throw hands.

And honestly,  if he was intelligent would he really let his kid go to aggy over Texas or Wisconsin?   I get it if he were an alum. The cult is strong. But he's just a carpetbagger. Makes no sense.

I've been working on the theory that his kid isn't so bright and felt the academics at aggy were more her speed.

I’m also confused by the ad (only on the stream) that is a 3-second song that has no apparent tie to the preceding or following ad. Its lyrics are like “something something story, (we are?) expressions of love.”  And then onto an unrelated commercial. I’m so confused.

We have Zapruder film studied that and determined it is a commercial most likely put out by a florist society (that's a thing?) and the jingle is something like "Shop florists (?) your expressions of LOOOOVVVVVEEE!"

McShan Florist ... For your expressions of looove.
