  1. Churchill didn’t want to help Hitler solve “the Jewish problem,” you see.
  2. I’ve been thinking about how the ancient Athenians every year would decide if they wanted to hold an ostracism, and if they voted yes, then the person who had their name written on the most shards of broken pottery would be banished for ten years. We need a constitutional amendment where we have the option to hold an ostracism every presidential election year. I think we could get Elon in a nationwide referendum.
  3. An honest assessment of public sentiment for or against atrocities and bloodshed will not leave either Israeli or Palestinian in a place to talk down or lecture the other. Accusations about a “sick society” aren’t really helpful and can fairly stick to just about any actor in the region.
  4. A former staffer to Hochul and Cuomo has been charged with acting as an agent of the PRC. Part of the bill includes manipulating access to shut out Taiwanese officials and to censor New York statements about Taiwan. NY is a hotbed for this, Eric Adams has his own issues with the Turks and PRC. https://abcnews.go.com/amp/Politics/linda-sun-former-kathy-hochul-aide-arrested-months/story?id=113347742
  5. Tuned in to see how much worse our O-line can actually get and the answer is none. None more worse.
  6. This, the gap in size has gotten to be absurd even within the 6a ranks. I have long thought that 5a (old 4a) was the ideal size for a school. I think the UIL needs set an attendance cap at around 4k. If you’re over, you can play a season but are ineligible for playoffs. No community needs a single high school that big and usually with multiple campuses and the like, you already are two or more schools in all but name. Trying to think of the last time the claim to overall best team in the state could plausibly come from below the top classification. Maybe one of those 1990s La Marque teams.
  7. Didn’t SOC start out pretty slow on their way to state last year?
  8. @Helobious, I cannot remember a freshman starting for the Cardinals and I’ve watched closely since the early 1990s. I don’t even think Mo Hunter, who eventually won state offensive MVP in 1994 started as a fish. Kind of a culture thing, and considering there is a direct line from Longhoefer to Gomez that’s a big deal. Clearly Woolery showed up on Friday. Always fun when the Valley “Old High” teams play and Weslaco should be pretty good. Not great that they scored 28 as this team needs to win on defense. San Benito may be the class of the district and may start 0-3 against PSJAN, Westlake, and Laredo United. 0-2 is basically a given after losing to PSJAN and United beat SA Warren. I don’t mind, it’s better for us if they get in their heads that they are a beatable team.
  9. Rick Reilly, who I find often insufferable, wrote a great book about DJT cheating at golf. To me, Trump’s cheating at golf reveals a lot about his supporters. These are people who don’t wish they were actually good at golf. They are the type of people who wish they could cheat at golf and say they are good and get away with it. DJT gets to do that and they live vicariously through him. It’s not even “everyone gets a trophy,” it’s more like “I give myself and no one else a trophy and everyone else has to pretend it’s real.” It’s a fascinating psychological profile.
  10. RFK Jr every time he stumbles across roadkill or a rotting animal carcass:
  11. It won’t land. All the people who understand how shitty this is already fall into one of two camps: 1. Horrified by what Trump means to the military and all other institutions and against him regardless of political inclinations. 2. Completely willing overlook what he means and compartmentalize because they are angry. Kamala needs to just register this as “yeah, he’s a weird guy who can’t even visit a cemetery normally.” Her campaign realizes we are all just about vibes now and the effective line for the masses is “Trump’s vibes are off.”
  12. My favorite part of the whale story is that Bobby “likes to study skulls and animal skeletons” as if that’s something that needs to be studied, like an 18th century naturalist. My dude, some obsessive German made an etching of that whale skull in 1785 and labeled every part in Latin, you can just go and get an animal anatomy book.
  13. That’s a garbage question and it requires her to either insult voters (because they are bad or dumb and believe lies) or concede that Trump has a point. I think all candidate should sit for hard interviews— about their policies, records, qualifications, etc. Not “please amateur psychoanalyze your opponent’s voters.” Can we also move past this little tick of “including people of color?” Embedded within that is an assumption that non-whites must have legitimate reasons for believing lies or wanting to take apart democracy.
  14. That article sparked me to read another BBC article about the missing hostages since I noticed that the guy was Bedouin. There are still some other remaining Bedouin, as well as at least one Nepalese and several Thais (and bodies of some Thai hostages). I guess I can kind of see the Bedouin being viewed as traitors to Islam or whatever, but it’s wild about the Nepalese and Thais. You’d think they’d have given then back early to score some PR points but then again these are the worst people in the world.
  15. I used to love going to the Sind Club in Karachi. The Pakistani elite would slug gin and tonics in a wood paneled cigar room while their wives at tea sandwiches and they’d tell me how awful the British were.
  16. If you haven’t figured it out, I think you’re posting rage-bait with a questionable tie to reality so I won’t comment.
  17. Yeah, what was I thinking, there’s no way a bunch of people are lying on social media. You got me there man.
  18. No, I can’t prove a negative but I can identify you as a dumbass.
  19. That link to the Pepsi story is so painfully stupid, LOL. You read a story on a Pakistani website about Jews dancing with Pepsi because of a ONE BILLION DOLLAR FUND given to…someone….and of course it’s tied to Rafah, and you believed it. That is honestly at least as dumb as any Q-shit I’ve seen.
  20. I have no idea what that image is or was and it’s on an atrocity porn site that platforms this guy. I actually dismiss anything you post or link to because you’re swimming in a pool of shit. The other link you provided offered this description of the “Pepsi dance”: RTE Urdu says Jews got a “$ 1 billion dollar fund”! After Rafah! Sounds legit! It was on X. I don’t know what your own thoughts are but I feel comfortable saying that you are linking to some explicitly anti-Semitic shit.
  21. I scrolled the Insta account you linked to and here’s what I found: Dan Bizerian: Sinwar speeches: Boycott Pepsi because you should be disgusted by the JEWS
  22. Yes, I like it when terrorists get killed and don’t like it when terrorists kill people. I guess you’re crying over Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian air bases, too? They should only shoot once the bombs are being dropped on them.
