  1. Options 2-3 are likely fine, but leave us with a risky floor and ceiling only as high as Flores can improve. Borba making it could mean that he's headed for a Flores-esque freshman year. Flores' summer could mean he isn't a lock to be a positive contributor. Powell's average fell from about .400 on April 1 to .340 by the end of the year. I don't see how next year's team is even just as good as last year's without plus infield and outfield transfers at the top of the lineup
  2. Hainline backup plans are flying off the market and we’re still up against every heavy hitter in the nation for him
  3. Holliday eats Pierce’s lunch again
  4. The UCSB guy doesn’t seem receptive on socials. Bingham’s probably getting drafted. https://calsummerball.com/statistics/ Go ahead and sharpie Cummings into a top 2 spot in the order
  5. Borba is making it, but his bat doesn’t seem College ready. Wazzu/Memphis and Flores left side. Powell and O’Dowd right side. JT, Cummings, Max OF. One more bat is found money and maybe moves Powell to DH
  6. He’s been on a tear lately. Slugging almost 1.000. Flores and Galvan not really inspiring. I was wrong about JT being there, think they had another Jared Thomas on the team last year or something.
  7. You going to post Bru McCoy's stats next? How out of date and irrelevant can you get?
  8. Mike fucking loves UT. Going to be a great presence around the program
  9. Not going excite a 24 draft eligible transfer. Which was the suggestion that Tenn’s park made it a more desirable destination.
  10. Tenn has a 4K seat shitter of a stadium that just lost in a super regional bid to southern miss. Not that I think ours is anything to write home about
  11. Honestly better atmosphere than Omaha, by a decent margin. Both 25k, but they’re all invested in the game in MMP
  12. Portal is great for seniors at schools with bad NIL. Going to exponentially grow his signing bonus if he can counter with some sec offers
  13. They doubled us up when we were #1 2 years ago. AD never promotes off campus events
  14. Okay this is getting boring. Daily basketball staff and roster freak outs 2.0. We’ll either land a Friday starter and a .900 ops 3B or we won’t. And it’s not going to happen in one day
  15. Sounds like Beard in that he was impossible to work for for longer than a couple years. I don’t get the feeling from Pierce that he’s sleeping in the office like Beard was. Or that he’s demanding a staff of the quality that Beard was. Who’s left that isn’t a CDC hire? Baseball, S&D, golf, soccer, rowing? Most of those will be replaced in a few years from old age or performance (soccer).
  16. You don’t have to be so embarrassed. Title still counts no matter how much people bitch about the transfers
  17. I was very much against LSU winning, but the same way A&M’s 2022 class spurred us into action, LSU printing the road map to modern success hopefully can be a catalyst
  18. It’s also why he’s getting a skewed read on the recruitment
  19. Expecting him to be on the Horton track was highly optimistic and he's still well within a normal recovery window. Even so, the whole thing just blows. He passed up on millions to wear orange and his draft value looks to be tanking with only 2 full starts here. The Tennessee appearance will always be legendary and a top UT baseball game I've ever been to
  20. Jesus, what’s the room block like at the Fairmont/Four Seasons if we’re getting 3 rooms for every OVer
  21. Yup, the LSU poor run of form down the stretch in the regular season was going to play nicely into discouraging another shopping spree. Hopefully having capable assistants and a full staff this off-season help our pitch more than last year. The whole “we made game 3 of the supers in a rebuilding year” pisses me off. There shouldn’t ever have to be rebuilding years now
  22. Hurd, Little, Shores (missing 24?), Noot, Loer, Xavier Friday guy. Would be a lotta guys who want starts
  23. https://www.prospectslive.com/prospects-live/2022-mlb-draft-top-400-prospects-h8bxx PG was way higher on him than this guy. I also hardly trust the baseball pay sites for Covid era prospects. Fell from inside the top 100 prospects to just outside of 300 in the year leading up to the draft
  24. Found a scouting report from last summer. Surprised he was signable for Duke and no clue why he didn’t throw last year Santos is an advanced, angular lefty who presents a ton of angle and limbs to the opposition. The fastball has been up to 91 with steepness. Santos can throw a pretty fuzzy curveball with significant drop and feel. He's got a turn-me-over changeup that's can be inconsistent, but he's shown confidence in it. He works in a cutter/slider that has more sweep than depth. Santos has decisive, athletic movements on the mound and fully displays starter traits. High-ceiling arm with significant projection.
