  1. It’s also why he’s getting a skewed read on the recruitment
  2. Expecting him to be on the Horton track was highly optimistic and he's still well within a normal recovery window. Even so, the whole thing just blows. He passed up on millions to wear orange and his draft value looks to be tanking with only 2 full starts here. The Tennessee appearance will always be legendary and a top UT baseball game I've ever been to
  3. Jesus, what’s the room block like at the Fairmont/Four Seasons if we’re getting 3 rooms for every OVer
  4. Yup, the LSU poor run of form down the stretch in the regular season was going to play nicely into discouraging another shopping spree. Hopefully having capable assistants and a full staff this off-season help our pitch more than last year. The whole “we made game 3 of the supers in a rebuilding year” pisses me off. There shouldn’t ever have to be rebuilding years now
  5. Hurd, Little, Shores (missing 24?), Noot, Loer, Xavier Friday guy. Would be a lotta guys who want starts
  6. https://www.prospectslive.com/prospects-live/2022-mlb-draft-top-400-prospects-h8bxx PG was way higher on him than this guy. I also hardly trust the baseball pay sites for Covid era prospects. Fell from inside the top 100 prospects to just outside of 300 in the year leading up to the draft
  7. Found a scouting report from last summer. Surprised he was signable for Duke and no clue why he didn’t throw last year Santos is an advanced, angular lefty who presents a ton of angle and limbs to the opposition. The fastball has been up to 91 with steepness. Santos can throw a pretty fuzzy curveball with significant drop and feel. He's got a turn-me-over changeup that's can be inconsistent, but he's shown confidence in it. He works in a cutter/slider that has more sweep than depth. Santos has decisive, athletic movements on the mound and fully displays starter traits. High-ceiling arm with significant projection.
  8. Flores and a transfer for left side of infield. JT/Powell/Borba for some combo of OF, 1B, DH. Cummings/Belyeu/Brown/transfer for last 2 OF spots
  9. Galvan, Flores, Thomas join Belyeu in SB
  10. Between all the injured guys coming back and them already throwing huge $ at the Xavier closer we might've had a more compelling path to innings.
  11. Kolby Branch is an interesting one for SS. Initially committed to Rodriguez. .967 fielding % without a noticeable positive trend as the year went on. Ton of doubles as a freshman that maybe start to turn into HRs - BU has pretty short corners though so maybe not. 1:1 bb/k
  12. Retroactive, or just go-forward?
  13. Anyone hoping the Marucci shopping spree was a one off should be plenty disappointed by now
  14. We’ve got a Ron Holland-sized hole burning in our pockets for Battle. Kentucky has some open scholarships too. Not sure who else would be in that bidding war at this stage
  15. The Daly thing is a bummer, but the upgrade is needed at short. Glad he was able to get back in the lineup and make a difference in June. Walked by him quite a few times on football Saturday’s last year, always had a VY jersey on
  16. Ranking classes before draft decisions is fairly useless
  17. Basically what Ivan’s Odessa stats were. Not to say that this guy would be Ivan, just that if you’re looking for juco/d2 sluggers, they’re not going to be super well rounded out of the box
  18. https://247sports.com/player/chris-johnson-46104194/ Not sure if you were alluding to anyone or just in general, but here’s your available guard. Good size, meh shooter. Definitely not replacing Holland’s scoring volume.
  19. .333/.333/.467 in Santa Barbara though 12 abs.
  20. It’d be nice to finally get some draft luck. The last 3 have been such kicks in the dick and the one time we do get lucky he needs TJ 2 starts into his career. Last 2 classes of HS arms with only Whitehead and Harrison left is killing roster construction. Just shocking to look back at. So many guys not even making it through year 1 or throwing a single pitch. Going to need a big haul and high hit rate of stop-gap portal guys. A college offseason is going to turn JT into a 15+ homer guy. If we can get a year 5 from Powell the infield is set with O’Dowd and Flores. Getting 2 .950 ops OF from the portal feels doable. Can’t wait to scroll Rodriguez’ new twitter follows for the next few months.
  21. So jealous of this lineup. Just unrelenting.
  22. Would’ve agreed before this weekend. Something is seriously wrong with him defensively and offensively
  23. Hurley and Galvan. The massive defensive gap to Galvan preventing him from playing for months has been erased this weekend
  24. Maybe Zane will get touched up enough he loses some draft shine he’s developed this month
  25. Starting Witt and GG were glaringly obvious bad moves
