  1. Quite the interview from Pierce today. Says Witt is in the plans for 2023
  2. So Jared Thomas to first/dh. Grab a juco guy to fill whatever role Thomas doesn’t and the lineup is sorted. Watts-Brown would round out a roster capable of hosting
  3. Horton didn’t throw at all as a frosh and is draft eligible as a soph. I’d say the biggest difference is Witt already has college tape, Horton had to come back to show off
  4. Seems like JWB and Porter Brown are last remaining portal targets and then still trying to round out the prep class with some combo of the SC twins, the kid Tech just booted, and maybe a Baylor flip of Calder from LT. There have been a lot of decommits in the last week so this is probably way too fluid to try to nail down
  5. Looks like he has a twin brother. Both 10s on PG, decommitted from SC 2 days ago, and both follow the Occupy NIL account
  6. https://longbeachstate.com/sports/baseball/roster/tanner-carlson/5466 Played 3rd and 2nd, slashed .345/.397/.466 last year
  7. https://twitter.com/tcarls_/status/1549851905966292992?s=21&t=zgUVJfpCRmkbh1RC1XVFaQ
  8. Are we really Walter Nolen-ing a low 4 star with 1 OL spot left?
  9. https://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=596710 Recent USC decommit following Longley
  10. This excludes Shelby, Gullete, Pilot, Baxter, Osborne, Hale, Vasek So Hill, Akana, Toviano, Deal, Shanahan?
  11. On 1 total prediction from an OU mod I’ve never heard of
  12. Last year some of the borderline guys were hungry for another shot in Omaha. I don’t really think there’s anything left for Kennedy or Southard in college now
  13. That extra year of age matters and probably offsets him potentially cleaning up the hit tool in both draft order and bonus negotiations
  14. Without Tulo I don’t think it made sense for Trey to come back. Let a pro team fix your swing instead of Rodriguez
  15. Don’t think Cox gets taken there if he’s not signing, but wonder if the slots are small enough now where an NIL counter can make a difference
  16. Draft starting back up. Gotta keep 2/3 of Flores, Cox, Thomas
  17. Damn. Sark and Marion have to deal with a target on their backs for over 2 months here
  18. https://medium.com/@tieranbaseball/mlb-draft-top-500-prospects-fba9fe7fceaf Very in-depth on the top 100 prospects. Fun read on Ivan. Says Bolte is asking for $2.5MM. I never like having hope during draft week
  19. Pierce taking a catcher makes me think we’re out of it. Skenes certainly could want to focus on pitching only, but I would say his value drops way off if that’s the case. We beat him up in the regional, I suspect that would happen frequently in a power conference. He was all American as a utility guy, not exclusively as a pitcher
  20. DC being able to play 3rd is super helpful. A lot easier to fill an outfield spot. 2 mashers, one for first one for dh. And we need 2 SPs, 1 being a Friday guy
  21. Nice. BU always recruited above their weight class in CA and had a good top half of their order. Hopefully the pitching coach hire is at least this splashy
  22. Was waiting for this. Spiegelman doesn’t seem like a scoop merchant, but a low % crystal ball on a guy that’s never had more than “use them to beef up my commitment graphic” level interest in us seemed like a big leap
  23. Why are we canning guys without replacements lined up? There’s no reason to have staff openings for any longer than is legally required. Not that we’ve lost anyone earth shattering, but we’re still more susceptible to transfers out and only have Pierce working on transfers in
  24. Yeah I actually don’t even think that roster sizes shrink now that I’m looking it up. That’s just what the popular reasoning was at the time. And I didn’t really notice anyone else missing in the dugout last week
