  1. The non-sympathetic take would be that you see the product of a decades old systematic effort to scare people away from thinking independently such that they only know the lines in the script they were told to say. I bet we could pick a dozen different topics and he’d know the lines to say. What do you think about BLM? What do you think of Obamacare? What do you think of voter ID? Any doubt we could nail his responses at a 100% rate? At some point being upset that you aren’t king of the world doesn’t abdicate responsibility from understanding what is going on around you. You don’t get a lifetime pass because your station in life is slipping
  2. 2 admits. Nice. I’ve been celebrating a little and going maskless. I feel like we’ve earned it. we are a week away from another big vax bump with kids getting it. We might have this thing whipped.
  3. This is all true, of course, but one day (probably very soon) the GOP will be in power again. Every day we squander without any sort of protection of the vote and protection of the process is a real risk that in short order a party that has shown it wants to overthrow our country can in fact overthrow our country, and it might even be nice a legal next time.
  4. oh. i see that was already covered.
  5. Checking her twitter it is non stop maga, so I think we can cross off 'break through case'
  6. I guess it's pretty serious.
  7. the real families part gets me too. for every 40 year old that dies from this, there are a pair of teenagers that live the rest of their life with one parent. them looking back on it a decade from now will suck. It's not something cool like dad died in combat or something sympathetic where mom died of breast cancer. my perfectly healthy parent was a retard ten years ago in pursuit of a political chess game she didn't understand she was playing, and she lost.
  8. and the next word is "but" and the rest of the sentence discusses natalie portman in the professional.
  9. Ummm, we getting a follow up here? Not great, Bob. https://www.sorryantivaxxer.com/post/charles-edward-robinson-ii-48-cumberland-md-truck-driver-anti-vaxxer-dead-from-covid
  10. the overwhelming majority of rooms are interior rooms with no glass
  11. All hatred directed toward Manchin is 100% wrong. He has managed to convince West Virginians to vote for someone that will go with D policies 60% of the time. That is exactly 60% more than you should expect out of the second trumpiest state in the country.
  12. A story about a pathetic nation's downfall
  13. sucks. liz cheney is about the only holdout left.
  14. i want to be a billionaire just to watch people sucking up to me by laughing at my shitty sense of humor.
  15. problem is this will make our football team look like 1963, which is exactly what most of the population wants. red staters see that letter and say 'don't threaten me with a good time.'
  16. I had to reread that University of Washington multiple times to make sure it wasn't saying Wash U. I've never realized that was that good of a school.
  17. I am disappointed that spiders have been classified as bug, but accept the will of the majority.
  18. 16 today. new admits be tripping and trying to pull us back into stage 3.
  19. It used to be positioned as helping the poors by helping everyone. A rising tide... So both sides were saying we help the poors, just in different ways. Now they figured out that hate is a much more powerful motivator than optimism, so why pretend we are helping anyone at all now?
  20. Some weird stuff in the infrastructure bill.
  21. It’s not that the wind blows. It’s what the wind blows. - RW
  22. It’s pointing to the fourth brick on the bottom and astutely pointing out that the top row would tumble without it. Well, yeah, the tower needs that particular piece but this tower is reliant on a ton of pieces. Eventually you get so removed from it it isn’t really the proximate cause anymore even though it is literally a but-for cause. NASA is because of oil? I guess on a long enough chain you get to oil. But you also get to LBJ and a ton of other contributors a lot quicker and a lot more directly. You don’t credit your dad pounding your mom for your little league team winning the game. But if your dad hadn’t gone steel shank one night you wouldn’t have that been there to catch that pop up. “But for” causation may (and may not) be true with a lot of the pieces of our economy and oil/ship channel but Texas has as advanced and high tech of an economy as anywhere in the country now.
