  1. all polls become that much more AIDS ridden with every passing day.
  2. SQ 🌙💥🚀🚀🚀💎🙌🙌
  3. One of the big problems with the Fox conversation about the vaccine is that the message of “you are making a decision to help end a global pandemic” is never presented and instead it is always presented as “you are deciding between being forced to do somebody g by the government or a chance of getting sick”. because of that framing, we get Slorch-like reasoning above by so many people. Can’t even fathom limiting activity because your own health risks aren’t that bad.
  4. About the right amount of time between the right leaders telling their flock to get them and for the flock to go through the 5 stages of grief.
  5. Barry Bonds ring a bell? much better episode. I think it is still A- but better than the C I gave the first episode. The Sam thing didn’t feel right in the same way the Dani Rojas thing last episode didn’t feel right is my only complaint. Still could play out differently though because we don’t know how Sam will feel about Tartt now he’s back.
  6. Exceeds the value of the gross domestic product of a fifth of the world's countries. https://www.worldometers.info/gdp/gdp-by-country/
  7. man that's fucked up. arson on a fucking aircraft carrier? i wonder if that is most expensive arson ever.
  8. My opinion: the Simone Biles thing isn’t really political. It is “edgy” to have some negative opinion of her. And having a desire to have edgy opinion is the same drive that makes people be a loud right wing shitlord. So you see a lot of the same people express it even though it is really more about a person’s desire to be viewed as shitty. Thin hair to split, but I think it is real.
  9. Lulz at “I’ve got top secret clearance, so I give me access to places that are restricted on basis other than secrecy.”
  10. Tell him Biden numquam pronunciare mendacium /braveheart but as for the bolded,
  11. The cooler article from yesterday has me convinced this problem is 99% fear of looking wrong. We need to focus our efforts on creating structures for people to not be wrong about their position to now and still result in a shot. 1) "Wow, delta is way different from before. It wasn't clear a shot was the right path before, but now the risks are really too high." 2) "Wow, all that data coming in shows the vaccines are great. It was pretty crazy to be leading the charge in getting shots, but now everything has been verified." 3) "Wow, this J&J version 2.0 provides way better immunity than the previous ones. That goodness we waited so we get the prime vaccine." Messages like that needs to be disseminated all the time now.
  12. Cool cool. S&P up, DJIA up. Let’s just hop in the car to check my account, which is basically just a pile of PayPal.
  13. More like taken from r/dataisAIDS with that garbage legend.
  14. looks like two things most predictive of not getting jabbed are being black and being a trump voter. Well, good luck AL, MS, LA, because those are your only choices there.
  15. one of my favorites. always dug the mexicutioner name, always dug his "no, man, it's cool, but seriously my country is really violent. let's not" reaction to it.
  16. whoever went second in this game is terrible.
  17. Maybe all the right wingers giving permission to their flock to get shots is working. Sarah sanders had that article in AR, Tuberville had some statement.
  18. probably doubles as a pretty good comorbidity chart
  19. can't really gauge whether the differences in vaccine rates are enough to result in different paths at this time. they are at 126 doses per 100 people, we are 103.
  20. wow. the differences are huge. https://www.brookings.edu/research/new-census-data-shows-the-nation-is-diversifying-even-faster-than-predicted/ figured it would be a year or two difference. I had no idea.
  21. user name doesn't check
  22. it's really the only thing that will save us. it's going to be a nail biter in 3 years when the vote is a hundred million rabid trump fans against whatever support a sundowning geriatric or whatever member of the short D bench steps up.
  23. Same. Seeing that regard from AL or whatever get interviewed in the hospital bed and still be a denier opened my eyes. At the beginning of the pandemic I thought that a personal connection would help people so I hoped for someone that everyone loved like Tom Hanks very publicly get it and die. He would basically be a stand in for everyone’s neighbor. Now I’m sure it wouldn’t have mattered, so you know, sorry I wished you were dead Tom.
