  1. I've eaten at Cooper's twice and wasn't impressed either time. Thought it was just me. I guess it's better than Red River which apparently a lot of people like.
  2. I don't understand how anyone keeps their house at 68. 72 is as low as I go and it's normally 74.
  3. Oh it's some strong shit. We'll be gone for a week so I was thinking about doing it right before we headed out. No way I would with all of us there. The fumes do seem to die down pretty quickly. I'll put a coat on in the morning and then bring it inside overnight and haven't had any issues. It cures pretty quickly with good air flow.
  4. Came home to the AC blasting and every fucking light and TV in the house on.
  5. Ha sounds about right. I'll do the final coat indoors. I'm lightly sanding between each to knock off dust so I'm not worried about it for now. Besides, exactly zero of my neighbors know how to fire up a blower and all the lawn crews did their thing Saturday morning.
  6. I like the panoramic roof on my wife's XC90, but would be okay if it didn't even open. I wish my car had a solid roof.
  7. Pretty much no masks around Houston this weekend.
  8. I like it. Lets me take a nap while driving the family on road trips.
  9. I do financial outlooks for the businesses I support. It usually takes me anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours sitting down with the GM's to come to an agreement on what the number should be. It then takes me days...literally multiple days...to get that number loaded into our system for reporting. On top of that, right now we are converting to a new system so I get to load that number twice. This is real value add work here.
  10. Yeah we live in the Houston burbs and had already planned to upgrade in the next couple of years. We've been looking just to see if something happens to catch our eye, but it's a waste of time. Stupid prices on not very nice houses offsets any gain I'd get on my house. That's assuming we could even win a bid which doesn't seem likely.
  11. Of course we have someone on Surly with specific knowledge of the situation. Thanks for the info.
  12. When the fuck is this microchip shortage going to end? My brother delivers new cars to dealerships for a living and is about to be out of a job. Just amazing the ripple effects all of this has had.
  13. I don't see how current pricing for cars or houses is sustainable in the long run. At some point something has to give.
  14. The only nurse I personally know has been one of the most outspoken online about how it's all essentially a hoax that has been overblown by the media.
  15. I actually think I'll get into it when I retire. Will probably build a shop with all the tools just to play around with. A friend's Dad had one and it was the most amazing setup I've ever seen. Wanted one ever since.
  16. Wish I had the tools and knowledge to build them. I just order the tops and finish them before installing. Black Walnut island and kitchen table top finished with Waterlox. This one is about 6 years old and had a few black rings on it from our carbon steel pans. I need to keep up with it better and wipe on a new coat every year or so.
  17. Refinishing the butcher block island top.
  18. Damn the title of this thread.
  19. Well, the end links didn't fix my problem. Changed them out for some more generic ones and that didn't fix the problem. Now I'm changing bushings. Hope I can get all this shit back together.
  20. Fuck OU! Congrats to Pepperdine. They were on fire.
  21. It's like everything else. The real deal costs money and requires skilled design and labor so it eventually gets watered down for the masses until it is ruined.
  22. My first car was an 88 S-10 Blazer with the 4.3 V6. At the time it felt like it could pull down a house. Just looked it up and it only had 260 ft/lbs of torque.
  23. Nailed it. Don't you have some more shitty hot sauce opinions to tell us about?
