  1. CP3 did work. The Rockets won 65 games even though "there aren't enough balls to go around for Harden and Paul" and were the only team to legitimately challenge the Warriors. And the Rockets should have beaten the Warriors even though it didn't end up happening. Anyone who says Chris Paul didn't work out for the Rockets is not providing an accurate assessment of what happened (which to be fair, will probably be 90% of people who comment about basketball).
  2. Remember when everyone said Chris Paul was a terrible acquisition and would never work next to Harden? And then the Rockets became the only team to legitimately challenge with Warriors with KD? Paul isn't completely washed up like people want to to pretend, but Westbrook is a better player and will very likely improve the Rockets (who already should have been the favorite to have the best record in the league).
  3. Of players I would have been interested for the Rockets Jeff Green, Wilson Chandler, Wes Matthews, Noah Vonleh, and Kyle O'Quinn all signed for the minimum. Markieff Morris, Richaun Holmes, Mike Scott, Kevon Looney, and JaMychal Green all signed for 5 million or less per year which we had the ability to offer. We didn't lose out on those guys due to lack of money available.
  4. JaMychal Green and Marcus Morris are still out there.
  5. Getting Butler was always unlikely. Other than that, we don't have the ability to sign anyone to anything other than the MLE (and it's very doubtful that we would hard cap ourselves by using the non taxpayer version) so anyone expecting big moves immediately was just setting themselves up for disappointment. I'm sure Morey will be creative and try to get something done somewhere and we'll definitely be aggressive trying to get the veteran minimum targets that we think will fit best on the team, but that will be about it.
  6. Signing House immediately to this deal is a bit disappointing because it means they can't really sign a contributor with the MLE and it will basically be minimum guys. It does keep another team from throwing him bigger money when they strike out on other targets but still have money they are trying to spend.
  7. Zimmerman and Lima both look solid. Long and Ream, not so much.
  8. Wouldn't this be $35 to win $65 and $100 to win $200? Those feel like bad calls into what I feel like were over bets (I'd think $30-35 for the first and $60-75 for the second).
  9. Yes, as I said in both posts you quoted he is a 33% 3 point shooter on 5 attempts per game. Again, this goes back to his free throw shooting that is awful. He very well might be the only player in the league whose EFG% is higher than his TS% due to how poor his free throw shooting is. His 48.8% EFG% shows that he's not a good shooter but other than his awful free throw shooting, it's fine.
  10. It's right there in the post you quoted. He shot 33% from 3 on 5 attempts per game. That's not good, but it doesn't hurt the team. He's not some historically bad shooter than people can just freely ignore like people want to make it out to be. Guys like Luka, Trae, Kuzma, and Booker all shot worse than him from 3 on a comparable number of attempts. He certainly isn't a good shooter but other than his awful free throw shooting, his shooting isn't really worth bringing up.
  11. Lonzo is one of the more underrated players in the league just from how much everyone hates his dad. He's a really good passer, good defender with the ability to switch across a few positions, and while his free throw shooting is embarrassing he's actually not a terrible shooter. 33% from 3 on 5 attempts per game isn't good but that's enough that his shooting doesn't hurt the team.
  12. and 65 of them favor the Warriors.
  13. Draymond gambling to give up the easy shot. Lol
  14. It's not like anything shady has ever happened before with NBA refs...
  15. I still think it should wait, but uh, that was bad.
  16. Yeah I mean, the Rockets loss last year that included an injury to the Rockets 2nd best player, horrible officiating, and a historically bad stretch of shooting obviously indicates that the only possible outcome in that series was a Warriors win. Houston just didn't have it in them. Same this year in a 6 game series where every game was decided by two possessions or less. With games that close, it's clear that this Houston roster just isn't good enough to ever possibly beat Golden State. What a stupid take.
  17. I don't love the Gold Cup roster but I don't completely hate it. We'll probably see the normal 4-3-3 that really looks a lot like a 3-2-2-3 that we've played most of the time so far. Ream, Miazga, and Long/Zimmerman on the backline with Adams in his "right back" spot, Bradley/Trapp as the other defensive mid with Pulisic and McKennie as the other mids, and then Altidore up top in the middle with Arriola and Boyd/Morris on the other wing. I'm fine with Adams in the spot that everyone hates and Bradley or Trapp as defensive mid but would put Pulisic on the wing where this roster looks really weak and start Holmes at his spot in the middle.
  18. The first three games against Panama, Costa Rica, and Ecuador we looked pretty good. Didn't look good against Chile with Pulisic getting hurt early and looked pretty terrible against Jamaica with a weird roster/formation. Definitely think it's way too early to be even thinking about pulling the plug on Berhalter. Will be interesting to see how the Gold Cup plays out.
  19. Mihailovic is so trash. Finally did something useful and basically trips over himself to break up the scoring opportunity at the end.
  20. There's a decent 11 that could have played based on the roster available tonight, but it's not one that has ever seen the field together. This has been pretty trash.
  21. The KD 3 was definitely the "nope, no one is going to beat this team" moment.
  22. Raptors needed to foul Draymond as soon as he touched it there
  23. Absolutely this. The logical approach is to keep doing the thing that has made you the only legitimate threat the Golden State with Durant while making a few improvements. And at the same time, if a trade is out there that you think improves the roster, do it no matter which players are involved. This seems to be exactly what the Rockets are doing even if everyone wants to panic and think the Rockets are trying to just trade everyone and force the coach to quit.
  24. If the Rockets find the right deal, I wouldn't be surprised to see anyone other than Harden be traded, but this is more along the lines of what I expect. I just don't really see any realistic Chris Paul trades out there. To Boston for Hayward if they lose Kyrie/Rozier and don't have faith in him every fully coming back (of course, if they are having those questions, do the Rockets really want to do this?)? To Miami for Whiteside and James Johnson (and then a follow up Capela trade of some sort)? To the Lakers for a young player or two if they strike out on everyone and panic (I don't understand why the Lakers would do this rather than just moving down a tier or two on the free agent list)?
