  1. If Durant was 100%, I would take Golden State in 5. If Durant doesn't play at all, I think it's a toss up 7 game series. Assuming Durant plays some and is healthy enough to not be a negative, I'm thinking the Warriors in 6 or 7.
  2. The US has really let down since going up 2-0.
  3. The defender certainly thought he was getting called for a penalty
  4. Golden State and Houston don't really look like great teams when they play each other, so it could be that these teams are actually both pretty good.
  5. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/rockets/article/Rockets-don-t-keep-their-defensive-coach-13856388.php Contract ending and not being renewed is not the same as being fired.
  6. I care about the reality of the situation much more than "how it was reported". He didn't get fired.
  7. Bzdelik didn't get fired. He retired last year (pretty late into the offseason) and then was convinced to come back. His contract is over now and they have the entire offseason to find a replacement so he's able to just go back to retirement just like he wanted.
  8. He didn't get called for a foul but I'm not sure you can really call that a "clean strip".
  9. Wasn't the entire idea at the start of the lottery that whoever won was going to try to send the pick to New Orleans anyway to get Davis? Who had the stupid idea that suddenly when New Orleans wins the pick, Zion won't want to play there? He's going to be ok with LA or New York trading him to New Orleans but not being picked by them?
  10. wait, is it still rigged?
  11. I like Batum for the Rockets (I really thought he should have been a target for a Ryan Anderson trade since Batum's contract is just as bad but a year longer) but there's no situation where the Rockets should be trading Gordon (much less anything extra) to get Batum.
  12. Basically, this is really what the Rockets need. They made the right decision letting Ariza and Luc walk and I didn't hate the attempts to replace them even though they didn't work out. For next season though (assuming there isn't a huge roster change that I don't think will happen), the Rockets need to add two big wings who they feel confident playing at least 20 minutes a game.
  13. So Eric Gordon is a point guard who is awful on defense? What? It would be nice if we could move Gordon back to the bench and he definitely shouldn't be kept out of deals that could bring in something better, but he's very much not a point guard and is a good defender.
  14. I mean, Rivers and Faried both just came to this dumpster fire mid season.
  15. Use the MLE to bring in another player like Tucker. Try to keep Rivers and bring in a couple of cheap vets who want to play on a good team. Figure out something for Capela to do when teams stop the lob game in the playoffs.
  16. Lost the game in the first half really
  17. yeah, just look at the Bucks.
  18. uh, anyone going to try to stop Curry from getting the ball?
  19. I can't think of a single time we've gotten two even decent looks when we go for it at 30 or under (which we do every chance we get). Yes, normal 2 for 1s do work out when there is enough time to get two actual shots up. You shoot with 28 or 30, the other team uses the whole clock and you're hoping for to get a rebound with 5 seconds left and get a shot off. It doesn't feel like anything I've seen us do with that all season would make that more valuable than actually just running offense for the first possession.
  20. Has throwing up a shitty shot with less than 30 seconds left to get a "2 for 1" when the 2nd shot ends up essentially being a half court heave ever worked out for the Rockets? We seem to do it every game like it's an intentional strategy but it doesn't make any sense.
  21. The Rockets playing like they think Golden State is going to roll over. Would have been nice to come out hard and put the game away early, but I guess this will probably be a close one into the 4th
  22. Give up on the Faried thing. He really isn't that important.
  23. It's super fucking obvious. Not sure what to tell you if you can't understand.
  24. It's pretty obvious the Rockets would rather beat the Warriors at full strength than with a Durant injury. Have to win the series first for it to matter either way
  25. Capela is having a pretty shitty playoffs but he was pretty good in the regular season and will probably figure it out. It's just probably not going to be in this series.
