  1. Mexico started 7 of the same players they started in the Nations League final. The US had one starter from the Nations League final. Yeah, "Mexico C team", right...
  2. His defender isn't beat. Yueill is stationary with the defender running to him with pressure. Yes, part of the problem absolutely is that Yueill is not a good enough player than running with the ball is a realistic option there.
  3. I don't think Yueill trying to go from a stop to take the ball upfield with a defender who already has momentum running at him is a good idea that is going to lead to any positive outcome. The correct play to me looks like playing the ball to Zimmerman who then has the entire field in front of him, instead of back to Robinson. The lineup was bad but if the idea is to rotate the team a lot for the first two games and then put together a real "top" team from what we brought in for the Canada game and knockout stages, it's not awful. If we rotate the next game and then come back to essentially this exact same lineup for the games that matter, yep, it's going to be bad.

Just admit you are wrong, it's not hard

It's honestly hard to believe how stupid you guys are @Napoleon and @ztejas after I have explained exactly what happened. Go to the video @Napoleon linked above, go to 3:18 in the video, set the playback speed to .25, and make it full screen since you are both fucking blind. Watch player #19 on Costa Rica. Watch him entirely miss the ball, kick Reyna (looks like it was actually closer to the ankle than the shin), Reyna take a hop not putting weight on the leg that was kicked, jump into the other Costa Rican player, and then go to the ground holding his ankle/leg that was kicked. No flop there, you are just morons.

You are talking about what happens after the dude kicks through his leg. Yes, after the Costa Rican player misses the ball entirely and kicks through Reyna's leg, he awkwardly hops to the side and into another Costa Rican player. That is after the foul to give the penalty occurred.

Yeah uh... I'm not sure what you're watching. Reyna heads the ball backwards, sticks his foot out to control the ball, and the Costa Rican defender is trying to clear the ball but instead just blasts him in the shin/leg making zero contact with the ball. It's a very clear penalty and there was basically zero argument about if from Costa Rica.

You keep talking about how Pulisic should play the 6 but I'm not sure that you understand what the 6 is. We don't want to pull Pulisic away from the attack.

I've seen a lot of people who want the US to play with 3 (or really 5) at the back, but I just have a hard time seeing how that is going to turn in anything but the US bunkering and hoping to counter. The best lineup involves Adams, Mckennie, and Musah together in the midfield. Pulling on of those guys for an extra center back just isn't something that makes sense to me. If the plan is essentially swap out Yueill for another center back because Adams isn't healthy, ok. I guess that's an option, but I don't see how we'll play with any kind of possession based style in that setup. I would strongly prefer going to a 4-2-3-1 instead of a 5-2-3.

That's what he brings. He gets into good positions at the right times and finishes some of those chances. I don't think he should be a starter and he's might be passed up by enough young guys to not even belong on the roster for the next world cup, but he's not behind that many people yet. But we absolutely need a better plan than Jackson Yueill when Adams is out.
  11. No, unfortunately, people are saying to themselves "THE COVID VACCINE IS GOING TO KILL ANOTHER 30 PEOPLE TOMORROW!" because people are morons who don't realize (or don't care) that Tucker is lying to them.
  12. Should the way he almost folded on the turn impact decision making here?
  13. The validity of the VAERS data doesn't even matter for Tucker's statement. He's just straight up lying about what that data is even supposed to represent. There's no reason to turn it into an argument about the VAERS data or assume that people are making false reports.
  14. You are creating a scenario that didn't happen. No, the gun was never shot at the cop who eventually killed this kid.
  15. Oh, right. He showed his hands too fast, shoot him.
  16. Cop says "stop, drop it, show me your hands". Kid stops, drops it, shows his hands. That shouldn't end in death.
  17. The kid followed the cop's exact instructions and the cop still shot him. Objectively, that means the cop absolutely fucked up somewhere in that process.
  18. If you've watch the video, it seems like there are really only two possibilities. 1. The cop was just intent on killing him, was yelling "taser!" over and over as cover, and had some acting lessons/foresight to drop a "holy shit, I shot him" while sounding genuinely shocked. 2. It was a mistake. An inexcusable mistake that resulted in death, but a mistake. I think it is pretty obvious which of those two is more likely. That doesn't make it ok and there absolutely still are other issues (should he have even been pulled over in the first place).

I mean, that's the entire point. Several players are only there for one match (which is the same match that Hoppe and Siebatcheu would have been available for. Reyna, Sargent, and Weah are all going to be playing in that game. There just isn't room for Hoppe and Siebatcheu to get time, so we called in other players who will actually play against Northern Ireland.
  20. 49-45? Lol. The first two rounds were very close but I slight favored Jan. 3 was clearly Izzy. 4 and 5 were clearly Jan but he did basically zero damage on the ground so I don't see how a 10-8 is anywhere in there.
  21. It doesn't even matter if he's milking it. Clearly illegal and there's no chance you can expect him to continue after that.
  22. Texas wins basketball game. Texas basketball fans happy.
  23. Feels like instead of doing the whole "well, renewables were wearing a really short skirt" you could just go with the bolded part.

Well, the post I was responding to was "but why on Earth would our WC Qualifying Senior MNT have any current MLSers in it?" so, yeah, for qualifying for now. I also forgot Zardes who is definitely in the picture for making a 23 man roster as well.
