  12. A blurb from Roach's article: "The Longhorns finished with two recruiters ranked inside the top 15 in the country with wide receivers coach Chris Jackson (second), safeties coach Blake Gideon (fifth) and defensive line coach Kenny Baker (13) all proving to be difference makers on the recruiting trail." https://247sports.com/article/texas-clinches-no-1-recruiting-class-for-first-time-in-247sports-era-longhorns-ink-seven-top-50-2025-players-241422194/ Is that two or three recruiters? I can't count this late in the afternoon
  13. Oregon only cares about pays 247
  14. What a great day! And lots of time left with lots of room for recruits left to sign. I was wondering what our current rating would look like over the last ten years. So, I checked 247 and figured I'd share the results with you. https://247sports.com/Season/2014-Football/CompositeTeamRankings/ Year / Our class rank that year / Where our current 2024 "points" would have ranked 2024 = 6th / 3rd 2023 = 3rd / 3rd 2022 = 5th / 4th 2021 = 15th / 3rd 2020 = 9th / 4th 2019 = 3rd / 3rd 2018 = 3rd / 3rd 2017 = 25th / 3rd 2016 = 7th / 1st 2015 = 10th / 3rd 2014 = 17th / 2nd 2013 = 17th / 2nd
  15. IMO, the best of Army/Navy or (lol) Air Force should get an auto-bid every year.
  16. Of the top ten teams in the 247 2025 class rankings, Oregon and Michigan have the fewest commits right now. Gotta think Oregon at the least, must be sitting on a few silent commits/flips and are prepared to move up in the rankings? They currently have 16 commits to Texas' 24 commits. So, for fun I used the calculator to add eight random "90" rated 4-star commits to their class and it put them at 297, in 5th place for team rankings. https://247sports.com/Season/2025-Football/CompositeTeamRankings/
  17. I'm not getting any of the usual 247 paywall stops. It's giving me the full article. --------- The Georgia Bulldogs are gearing up for a big game on Saturday when they face Texas with an SEC title on the line. While the Bulldogs have their full attention on the Longhorns, it appears one Bulldog will not be part of that preparation. Georgia cornerback Julian Humphrey announced on social media that he plans to enter the transfer portal. Humphrey would be leaving Georgia after starting 10 games this season but falling out of the lineup in recent weeks. "First and foremost I would like to thank the man above for everything he has done for me, and I will forever be grateful for everything! I also wanted to say thank you to all of the loyal UGA fans along the way. Thank you" Humphrey wrote on social media. "With that being said, after careful consideration I will be entering my name in the portal with 2 years left of eligibility." Humphrey began the 2024 season as Georgia's starting cornerback opposite of Daylen Everette, but Humphrey lost the role in Week 12 against Tennessee. An early defensive pass interference call led to Humphrey being pulled in favor of Daniel Harris, and Humphrey backed up the sophomore for the next game. He did not see the field against Georgia Tech in Week 14. Humphrey recorded 10 tackles and 4 pass break-ups in eleven games. Humphrey redshirted during his true freshman season in 2022 but played a bigger role as a reserve in 2023. He appeared in nine of the first 10 games for the Bulldogs and really made his mark against Missouri, when he had a pair of tackles and a pass break-up in Georgia's 30-21 victory. Humphrey seemed to turn the corner against Missouri, but the next week he suffered a significant setback. Humphrey hurt his collarbone against Ole Miss, which was an injury that ultimately forced him to miss the rest of the season. Humphrey toyed with transferring after the 2023 season with hopes of getting closer to his hometown of Houston. Ultimately, the Georgia coaching staff convinced Humphrey to stay put. "I talked to Kirby and Muschamp and Coach Donte, and they were saying this is a big year for me. This could be my year to come out and have a good year," Humphrey said in March. "I thought about it, and I wanted to be developed rather than just be down there for one year to say I'm close to my family. I stuck it out here because the development part is one of a kind compared to other schools." The NCAA transfer portal does not officially open until Dec. 9. Come that date, student-athletes will be able to enter their name up until Dec. 28. A player can withdraw his name and return to his respective school if he so chooses. If Humphrey leaves Georgia ahead of Saturday's game, it would leave the Bulldogs with five scholarship cornerbacks. Those would be Everette, Harris, Ellis Robinson IV, Demello Jones, and Ondre Evans. The Bulldogs also have other defensive backs who have spent time at corner such as Chris Peal.
  18. 11B FTW I got through MEPS but had to drop out before completing my enlistment.
  19. More info on that story: https://247sports.com/college/georgia/article/georgia-cornerback-julian-humphrey-intends-to-enter-transfer-portal-per-report-240968127/ It doesn't look like we ever offered this Houston product? https://247sports.com/player/julian-humphrey-46078972/high-school-228094/
  20. NCAA isn't the NFL and you can't get rid of all conference championship games. The NFL is limited to 32 teams and two conferences. NCAA FBS consists of 134 teams and ten conferences. NCAA needs conference championships for the lesser conferences that are unlikely to ever sniff the expanded playoffs.
  21. Yes, please
