  1. I've posted a pic of my daughter. She was 8 months old and doing 'hook'em horns' in her sleep.
  2. Exactly. "What are you getting?" I always answer: "Why? Just get what you want." If she keeps bugging me, I tell her I'm getting "Food." Then she's pissed off*. I used to think it was because if she was thinking about getting the same thing then she would get her other choice and then eat hers and have "just a taste" of mine so she could enjoy both dishes. But then she learned I don't share from my plate. Now I think it's because she can't actually make a decision and is hoping what I'm ordering sounds good so she can get the same thing. It's also why she rarely will order before me because she's undecided. Unless we're at a specific place she wanted to go to for a specific reason - like pancakes. Then she knows what she wants before we get there. *I'm not getting laid anyway, so what do I care?
  3. At least now my wife won't want to go to Galveston this summer.
  4. Mythbusters did it better with the mega fire extinguisher.
  5. I tell her she's not my mother. I take the kids somewhere and tell them to pick stuff out for Mothers Day. They get things they think she likes. I veto some things (no, we're not getting her a pack of spearmint gum. Keep looking.) and make some suggestions. They got her flowers, chocolate, and some new slippers since she's been complaining about hers. I paid for it. She knows that. But I wasn't even in the room when they gave her their gifts. I got flowers for my mom. If the kids are old enough, let them shop for her. If she doesn't like the gifts tell her to complain to the kids. If the kids are really little, then you need to step up even if she already got the same thing. If she complains, tell her you bought yours first (even if you didn't).
  6. I heard he was more worried about the future of pork bellies, which is used to make bacon, which you might find in a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich.
  7. Then she spends 2 hours redoing what took me 5 minutes.
  8. Yep. She even stops to think about it before asking my help with anything because she knows she's relinquishing control. Once I've agreed to help, it's now my thing, not hers. Saves me from a bunch of crap.
  9. I taught my wife early that she can either watch or help me do it the way I want to do it, or she can do it herself. She doesn't get to tell me how to do it. Been fine ever since. If she's tempted, I just stop and ask if she wants to do it. Sometimes she does and I go do whatever I want elsewhere. Otherwise she goes away and leaves me alone. Short version: If I'm doing it, then I'll do it my way. Don't like it? Do it yourself.
  10. When I was in high school in RR, a girl I was casually friends with was killed by "accidental discharge" while visiting a friend (that I didn't know) at his house. Apparently there were several teenagers there and someone was playing with or holding a gun and it fired and struck her in the head. I never got more details than that at the time. 20+ years later I'm married and my wife (who grew up mostly in Liberty Hill) tells me a story from when she was 7 and living in RR about how her brother had some friends over and was fooling around with a gun and accidentally killed a girl in his bedroom. Yep. Same girl. Brother never got charged, and still owned guns for years. Cheated on his wife, divorced (with 3 kids), moved to Dallas, became an alcoholic, developed major kidney and liver disease, and died last year. We rarely spoke to him and only saw him twice in the 16 years from when we got married to when he died.
  11. The only superpower I have is the ability to stop the hiccups if I ever get them. Never lasts more than 3 hiccups. I don't know how I do it, but I just decide "okay, quit doing that" and it stops. Drives my wife nuts as she deals with them for 10-20 minutes at a time and sees me do it once or twice and then nothing. Not sure what costume Stops Hiccuping Man would wear.
  12. That was @LTbear whose wife liked to watch him fuck other chicks and joined in at times. Not sure if she still does.
  13. Didn't see this posted in my quick perusals. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/college-baseball-player-struck-by-stray-bullet-during-game-texas-2023-05-01/ Tl;dr version: Shootout in nearby neighborhood. Player standing next to bullpen hit in the chest. Currently in ICU.
  14. That's @RamjetFDO
  15. At least they made it accurate. Based on the size of that football in his hand, it would make him about 5'6".
  16. My car was originally orange and the first picture is a car (not mine) with original paint. The second picture is a different car with "new" pearl paint. Most people who don't know the car would never know the difference, but I can tell. And it would bother me.
  17. Yeah, I saw that after my post and edited. I'm assuming they"re using oil-based paint and not water-based. Is it single-stage or multi-stage? And I've heard different primers can affect the final shade a bit. The original was probably had lead and you might not be able to get a true match without lots of miniscule tweaks of the shade. I think the one on the right looks closest to the car pic, but you'd have to have them side by side to know for sure. I don't think most people would notice a difference unless it was sitting next to one that was original, but in the end it's you that had to be happy with it.
  18. Edit: just saw you had it scanned already. I'm dealing with the same thing for my Fiat 124 Spider. The original color was orange and I'm leaning towards blue (color code 462). The problem is getting the proper shade, and the new Fiats that are painted blue have the same 462 code but look different. I have a similar paint code card like was posted for the MGs and have DuPont codes, but a lot of paint shops can't properly match using that old code, especially if the old paint has lead and the new paints don't. There are paint companies that use digital scanning for paint matching. If you're not already part of an online FB group for your model, join one. You can probably get someone who has the same color in original who is willing to take it to get scanned and send you the code. That's what I plan to do. This is the color I'm probably going with, but with a black top to match the black interior:
  19. There appears to be a "sign bridge" right before the overpass that it hit first and might have missed the overpass completely. Still dumb to be following too close. The other one posted hitting the overhead "sign bridge" is exactly what happened a little over 10 years ago in 35 northbound between 183 and Rundberg basically in front of KLBJ. I was living in an apt nearby at the time and all power in a large area went out. Turns out some power wires were crossing 35 at that point and when it hit it fucked everything up for a good 6-8 hours. I got on my mountain bike and rode down there to see it up close. Didn't take it all the way down. Basically stopped the truck in about 50 ft from highway speed. Apparently the bed started going up as he was driving and he didn't notice.
  20. White Crocs can be found at most any Walmart.

  22. I don't see how women can't go to a store and buy what they went there for without buying a bunch of extra shit. Wife was taking the kids swimming to the indoor YMCA pool in RR. Tells me son needs new flip flops and is going to stop at Target. Asks me which card to pay with since we use different accounts for various things (bills, etc). I check and see the bills account still has about $50 in it after bills were paid. Flips flops for a 9yo can't cost more than $10-15 so I tell her to use that card. Later I need to order some parts for a car I'm restoring so I check to see if my "car" account has enough or if I need to make a transfer. I see the "bills" account is negative. I check it and see she spent $134 at Target. Plus a $28 overdraft fee. I was pissed. Her excuse? "I told you I was going to Target." WTF? She told me she was just getting flip flops. If she had told me she was getting a bunch of other stuff I would have had her use a different card. And I had just talked to her about how she needs to stop buying extra crap every time she stops for something we need. (Stops to get milk and buys the kids candy,, water balloons, etc turning a $4 stop into a $35 stop. "But it was only $4." $4 every damn time is $1000+/year in useless crap we don't need. She spends an extra $5-10 every day probably but then bitches if I spend $100 once every 3 months and how she now gets to go spend $100 on clothes.
  23. Do the winners usually pose with the livestock? Or is it just an aggy thing?
