  1. Never mind, it wasn't a typo, since the next sentence says, "And then, [OSU] gets the same benefit a year later when it struggles against an inferior opponent (Northwestern) in the conference championship game." I guess Chris Baldwin is just a doofus who is arguing that a 13-0 BigTen champ got "the benefit of the doubt" in 2019 by being included in the playoff.
  2. That 2019 reference may have been a typo, since the link was to the 2014 BigTen CG, which was a blowout. Of course, that 59-point beatdown was over a #14 ranked Wisconsin team that came in with a 10-2 record. Not very comparable to Aggy's 21-point win over a hapless 3-6 Tennessee.
  3. Going back to the days before a group of dumb fucks decided that gossip peddling should henceforth be a "profession" replete with its own academic curriculum and University major, and everyone else went along with it.
  4. Disagree. Journalism has always been 80% lazy bullshit and self aggrandizement.
  5. GatorsOnly may have been trying to make it look like a lot going on, but the entire timeline, as described there, was only eleven days, with Meyer publicly commenting on it five days in. The story is then puffed up with various other people saying, in that eleven day period, that a formal offer hadn't been made or accepted.
  6. That didn't look like a lot of head fakes, or a particularly drawn out process. According to the timeline laid out in that article: November 17, 2011 - specific Meyer-to-OSU rumors begin appearing online November 23 - Meyer publicly addresses the rumors, saying, "there has been no interview," but "if something happens with Ohio State, I'll have a decision to make." November 28 - OSU announces Meyer as their new head coach.
