  1. It's the same demographic that was the backbone of Roy Moore's votes, and likely when David Duke ran. You can't reach them.
  2. I have a handful of friends who work political campaigns, and I always wondered why they would want to move so much, work frantically, and somehow still manage burnout. Turns out, campaign staffs are notorious for the frequent, casual sex. Especially in the larger campaigns.
  3. The feeling I get from Herman is he prefers continuity. We'll see if he ever changes it up.
  4. I'd imagine if and when Orlando leaves, one of Naivar or JWash will step into the DC role. I'm getting off-topic, but before we worry about the defense we have to wonder about the offense. If we have a good year, a likely scenario is having to replace both coordinators.
  5. This is a direct admission that Trump lied about the contents of the meeting, and asked his subordinates to lie as well. Pretty soon, everyone will just admit to colluding and the senate won't give a shit.
  6. https://247sports.com/college/west-virginia/Article/Source-WVU-welcomes-linebacker-transfer-from-Alabama-120384387/ LB VanDarius Cowen transferred from Bama to WVU. He's a head case, but really talented.
  7. Do you mean Obama should have pushed for it more? Or that congress should have delivered him a public option? Alternatively, he could have also tried to get ahead of the GOP messaging on healthcare. The GOP built their current dominance of politics on a simple anti-ACA message.
  8. Here is the full Bors comic for those interested:
  9. Actually the lobbyists do not want the rule to be taken away. They either want the rules to be relaxed or for all states to have one standard. But Trump probably saw that it was a rule put in place by Obama and thought it would be better to freeze it for as long as Trump is president. If you take away the rule, then essentially 49 states will have one set of emissions rules and California will have it's own.
  10. I wonder how much someone got paid to come up with this dumbass idea.
  11. I was more getting at what this guy is saying: If it's a better system in the short term (many millions being able to afford healthcare) and the long term (reducing costs) then I don't have issues with it. The logistics of the situation might require an increased cost in the beginning and I'd be fine with that.
  12. If the decision is between paying a "premium" to an insurance provider as opposed to a "tax" to the govt what difference does it make if it's about the same? Especially if it reduces the amount we're paying nationally AND it increases the amount of people getting insurance. We would still need to worry about implementation of such a plan and any costs or delays that come with it. Adding the entire country into one healthcare system will take a lot of work and planning.
  13. We got two CB picks for Ty Jordan to Texas, from EJ and Roach.
  14. It's wildly irresponsible. It took media a very long time to figure out that no matter what, Trump will call them biased and disregard them. Some still haven't.
  15. Thoughts? It's a good point by Nate Gold. The NYT bent over backwards in order to appear impartial for Trump. Apologies for the tweet spam.
  16. This is the group of "moderate" GOP members.
  17. For your reference, many conservatives have tried to create “free speech” based platforms that mimic twitter/Facebook. Somehow they all turn into cesspools of holocaust denial and open bigotry. It’s just the way it goes.
  18. And this is why we're seeing a shift in language from the Progressives. It's not "reform ICE", it's "ABOLISH ICE". It's not "shore up the ACA" it's "SINGLE-PAYER." They realize what worked for the GOP, and it's currently the only way of getting any part of your agenda passed. Compromising sounds nice until you realize the other side will never reciprocate.
  19. We don't have enough information to judge Drayton yet. However, last year was far, far, away from his usual standard. But he didn't have a good oline, a good passing game, or even a healthy stable of backs to work with. He's made elite running backs almost everywhere he's gone so it could only be a matter of time.
