  1. I even have a client that played linebacker for Arkansas back in '69 and '70 and all he could talk about was how impressed he was with the Texas team back then. Never had a single bad thing to say. Granted, he relocated to Arkansas from Texas when he was in high school so maybe he still here onto that sense of home? Dunno. All I know is I'm not sweating playing the piglets one tiny bit.
  2. Not too sure about that. I've lived here for three years now and wear Texas gear constantly and never get much of anything.
  3. I think y'all are overestimating the environment in Fayetteville these days. I just turned 29 a few days ago so I'm young and haven't experienced Texas vs Arky in person but their fan base is pretty pathetic. The last few seasons really took the wind out of them and they have decided they'd much rather be a baseball school. It's hard to even find a real Hog fan that knows football and is willing to discuss it. The majority of the population here are transplants that Wally brings in from anywhere and everywhere and those folks couldn't care less about Arkansas Football. Will they show up and put on their best stiff upper lip? Sure. Will there be any actual give a damn behind it? Nope. Unlike aggy, Arkansas fully understands their position in the hierarchy of college football. They seem perfectly willing to be the doormat of their conference. I'm sure the team will treat Texas like their Super Bowl but, from what I've seen of their talent pool and depth, they're depleted. Texas *should* walk all over them. I worry that Turtle Tom rubbed off some of his fucking weak-dick, no sack having traits on the team and that they'll turtle against a team they should trounce. Fuck if I know. I just don't want to live here for the next two years if Texas loses both games against Arky.

  5. Where'd he come from? Insert Vince Young "Austin Texas babay!!!"
  6. Maybe I'm the minority here but I'm thinking fuck it why can't we win the conference this year? We've recruited better than nearly everyone in the conference for the past three years and we finally have some big swinging dicks as coaches so what's the issue? Will it be easy? Nah. Will there be ugly wins? Absolutely. Will I give a shit if we win by 1 point or three scores while I'm slamming Patron and stuffing my face with smoked meats? Absofuckinglutely not. I will say, I'd almost prefer to take the loss in the Cotton Bowl and then come back and curb stomp those Norman fucks in the CCG.
  7. I've had them and they're good but they're not the same. Maybe it's nostalgia. Sorry to derail with the food talk. Carry on with the money talk. Regardless of wealth, aggy will always suck.
  8. I saw that yesterday. I was telling someone about August pies and I looked them up to show a picture and saw that they went under during Covid. I live in Northwest Arkansas so I doubt I'll get any August pies around here. I ran into a guy at the driving range up here last year that saw my Texas bag and he mentioned that his family owned August pies. I about shit. My family owned a restaurant in North Texas and we sold them there.
  9. Those Allsup's burritos were a staple of my childhood. Those and August pies.
  10. Fuck man. I like your style. Now I need to see this happen. Somebody get a banner started. I got 5 on it
  11. Both QB's look like they are capable of winning football games and, after the last 10+ years, that's all I care about. Just win baby!
  12. Fuck man. Wish we could've been there today. I've always had fun at the Spring Game. My favorite part is that no one is ever there and I don't have to stand in line for beer and BBQ.
  13. Starts at 1:00 right? Will there be pregame entertainment on the discord?
  14. I see what you did there. Now, get out.
  15. Makes sense the kid popped for pushing pills in HS got a degree in neuroscience.
  16. This shit blew up. It's even on the Pat McAfee show now lol Gotta love it.
  17. The "lifers" as I call them definitely don't process pain like the rest of the population. The ones that started wrestling in diapers and stuck with it as far as they could go are what I imagine drill sargeants wet dreams are made of.
  18. Always a solid tactic. I'd include speaking to the women those asses are attached to as well. That's when it REALLY gets exciting.
  19. What's scary is you never really lose it completely. When you've drilled moves tens of thousands of times your muscle memory is off the charts. It's just there waiting for the trigger.
  20. Yeah, Pennsylvania is a hotbed for great wrestling. It's incredible how many studs have come out of Pennsylvania in just the last decade. PSU having Cael Sanderson as HC is almost cheating.
  21. Beware of the cauliflower ear. That sumbitch at OU that's going first round in the draft this year, Creed Humphreys, wrestled his entire life. He manhandles anyone you put on him and makes it look easy. Texas should really start emphasizing wrestling at a young age. Way less CTE stuff for the kids and I promise you they'll be better football players for it. The balance, footwork, mechanics, gas tank, mental toughness, spatial awareness, etc of a wrestler is highly evolved compared to your typical football player.
  22. No doubt! I always keep an eye on the Texas boys that wrestle elsewhere since there aren't any programs in Texas. Bo Nickal out of Allen has been awesome for getting some Texas kids to step on the mat. It was hard to root for a Penn State guy but damn he's good.
  23. Also, you'd be amazed at the talent level of high school wrestling coaches. Our Assistant HC was in the Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater. World silver medalist, Olympic qualifier, three time All American, one time NCAA Div 1 National Champion at Oklahoma State. He was a bad ass old man that had wrestled with all the greats of his era. Wrestled the Russians in Cold War days where a match was one closed fist away from an international street fight. I like to shit on Oklahoma probably more than most guys here because I was forced to live there. One thing we can never claim any superiority on is wrestling. They breed them up there.
  24. As a kid who grew up in small town Texas, I had never heard of wrestling. When we moved to Oklahoma I was in Jr. High and I signed up for wrestling. Wrestled all the way through senior year in 6A. Was third in the state a few years. I can tell you this much: football makes you understand strength and brute force. Wrestling makes you understand how to use that against your opponent. If you tango with a solid wrestler you had better land the first punch square because you may not land another one before you go to the ground.
