  1. LOHorn started following BlackCat
  2. I mean, it was a cool play, but how can that be an overturn?
  3. LOHorn replied to RGBIII's topic in Books
I started this yesterday after seeing this forum. I finished book one and I’m fairly far in book 2. Easy ready, zany, and a page turner. Thanks for the rec!
  4. This sucks, but it’s CFB now. He has to do what’s best for him, Texas needs to do what’s best for them. He’s been a great longhorn. How many teams other starting backs would you have taken before him? Fla, Ga, Ark, Osu. And maybe Sark is looking to get more physical.
  5. It’s a reverse cumulative, so the 1894 should be the total and this year 1-0. Is that not displaying?
  6. Here is the reverse cumulative record after this year. Spoilered for length:
  7. Does this mean Texas is like those teams listed, or does it mean Texas is part of a tier of programs that are unable to stupid and those teams can be?
  8. From Detroit, we are ready! FIGHT!
  9. PK’s defenses seem to struggle with mesh, and it’s seems like Klein loves mesh.
  10. If you follow Adam McClintock on twitter he does a pretty good job of breaking things down. Here is his thread on last nights rankings: Thing about this system, and he seems to be pretty accurate, is that it says that Michigan has 5 quality wins (teams above .500) and we have two. But here are Michigan's five quality wins: New Mexico, Central Michigan, Nebraska, Washington, Northwestern. Let's say that Texas's 2 quality wins, which are much stronger than Michigan's, cancel out Michigan's top 2. That means the committee is ranking Michigan over Texas because their lower tier OOC teams are good at beating other lower-tier teams, and Northwestern is 6-4 while Kentucky or Miss St is 5-6. If that's the case then we are doing this all wrong. Also, I want to mention that Game Control seems to have an important role in all this. Sark is going to have to adapt, and keep the pedal down. If the committee seems to value this metric, so it needs to be factored in to the team strategy.
  11. It was! We were in the side of the stadium where penn state scored to go up, which was also the student end. Good times! The stadium was hyped/surprised by the mid-4th, so you can imagine the deflation when the call was upheld. It was so close to the end, almost everyone stayed. Also, the PSU video boards weren’t high quality enough to have resolution to see a good the replay in the stadium.
  12. Just got back from road tripping with my son to Happy Valley (we’re located in Detroit) for the PSU/IU game. Solid experience, nice enough stadium, nice people. Traditions were good, game was outstanding. Their stadium access and accessibility to facilities/food was top notch, though the stadium isn’t particularly visually appealing. Would say the experience was similar to Michigan, but a little less in basically every way. We still had a good time though.
  13. I think Home/Road environments have the biggest effect on the OLs. Crowd noise reduces their advantage of knowing the snap count, and gives the DLine relatively quicker get off. I think our OL line plays better today as a result of the home field and another week of practice for the young guys. Arch will have just a little more time and it will make all the difference. I think Texas wins by 10-17 in a game that doesn’t feel particularly close.
  14. I was able to mess with this a bit to get Ole Miss to have a better conference winning percentage than A&M. Just have Auburn stumble home and MSU win some.
  15. From unseasonably warm Detroit 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
  16. DD Lewis coached my 5th (or maybe 6th, don't remember) grade basketball team. He did a fine job, but he kept using football analogies. We were supposed to learn how to run a two-on-one fast break by thinking about the option, etc, etc. He was a nice guy and a nice coach, and for a metroplex kid it was pretty cool to be coached by former Cowboy.
