  1. Absolutely right. I just had the heebie jeebies every time because the Jets always seem to get that key goal. But yeah, positional defense was outstanding. Combined with Ott's confident holding the fort, it was beautiful.
  2. Huge win. Make them play from behind.
  3. He's not as physical or as good a defender as Messier was, but there are similarities to their offensive game.
  4. Somebody's on a fucking heater.
  5. Stars coming out hot and fast but so far Hellebuyck has been on point.
  6. I am enjoying it and it remains interesting, but for some people I think the vast number of blue chip prospects that are now interested in Texas creates recruiting overload. Easier to follow/remember/covet x number of prospects than xxx number. For myself, I am no longer having large mood swings regarding the recruitment of a particular player. Which is what makes this so fabulous; I know we're going to wind up with a tremendous class. Trust the corches may still be a bit idealistic, but it's no longer a punchline.
  7. Winnipeg 3-1 v Stars this season. Outscored Dallas 13-5. I want to be optimistic but I won't lie, I was pulling like hell for the Blues.
  8. Derian. Hatcher. That is all.
  9. RIP Jim Dent. He was one of the earliest black golfers on the PGA tour. He was one of the longest hitters, particularly for the time he played given more recent advances in clubs. I got to play a practice round with him for the Colonial Pro-AM when I was a junior in high school. You had to be 18 to play in the actual Pro-AM, so I settled for the practice round. My cousin, who played in the Indians minor league system, made it possible for me to join him, Mr. Dent and Duane Kuiper. Jim Dent was very kind to me that day, and hoo boy, he drove the ball a country mile.
  10. He said three, maybe four. He also said that USC, A$M and LSU's recruiting pitches all lead with NIL. Which is building a foundation for a house of cards.
  11. Most of you guys don't hang out in the high school football thread very much; this is an extension of his schtick that originated there. Passive aggression trying to masquerade as wit. It's boring and tiresome. And witless.
  12. Hey, if it was good enough for David Copperfield it's good enough for a deep snapper.
