  1. Again, this is the first game of the season, this pitcher has some filthy stuff. And for those who have played baseball at anything above the high school level, you know that one pitch you can look foolish and then hit a screaming liner the next. Baseball is hard.
  2. If you weren't going out there is a working link posted on here. Have fun.
  3. first game of the season and the guy throws hard with movement. It'll be fine.
  4. This is going to be a fun season. We may or may not reach Omaha, but it feels so good to know that smart people are guiding the ship. Been awhile.
  5. It is only fair to point out that USC under Rod Dedeaux - great teacher of the game that he was - enjoyed a similar, against the rules advantage that John Wooden and UCLA basketball enjoyed. They bought the best players and he had no other program to challenge his blatant disregard for the rules until Jim Brock showed up in Tempe.
  6. I like to think I pay close attention to the recruiting goings on, as much as I can, anyway. I trust your information, Sydney, so I have to assume that Harris completely fucked up a recruitment for Baker. Hope it isn't too late for the two new hires (Joe and Dunson) to provide a firewall between Harris and the coaches.
  7. Two things: is he related to Johntay? If he actually ran a 10.97 as an eighth-grader then holy shit.
  8. Blake Munroe Moderators 3.2k Moderators Posted 5 hours ago NFL Network/NFL.com released a three round Mock Draft and eight Longhorns made the list, including two in the top 14. Interestingly enough, they have Horns QB Quinn Ewers being the third Texas player taken in the draft at No. 33 overall. Full draft: https://www.nfl.com/news/three-round-2025-nfl-mock-draft-round-one
  9. It's not the optimum strategy but without said teenager we'd have lost even more games. Tre Johnson >>>>>> Rodney Terry
  10. Not sure about Otzelberger at ISU; he played there and calls it home. I kind of like a couple of Big West coaches: Russell Turner at UC Irvine and Joe Pasternack at UC Santa Barbara. Sean Miller is a proven top coach.
  11. Nah, Terry would need a miracle run in the tournament to survive. Tom Herman got kicked to the curb after 7-3 and a bowl victory. RT is basically Tom Herman sans the personal drama.
  12. BMFs

  14. Where did the narrative that Turntine is a guard originate? Every time I've heard Gerry discuss him he is adamant about Turntine being a tackle for the Horns, specifically a LT. I certainly don't have any sources close to the coaching staff, there are only three posters on here that I feel like have genuine sources with regard to team personnel, and none of them have said anything about JT not being a tackle.
  15. OTF said that Niblack was a good teammate - Gunnar Helm's father attested to it - and that Niblack was a serious country boy who would go fishing every day in Lady Bird Lake.
  16. Having worked in Hollywood, I can attest to the strangeness of much of its decision-making. But with regard to Breakfast at Tiffany's, in 1961 it was fine to racially stereotype Mr. Yuinoshi, who was not comedic fodder in Capote's novella. It was not okay to celebrate Holly Golightly as written, because she was a charming yet bottom line oriented prostitute masquerading as a socialite.. She ends up married to a third-world tribal chief who can bejewel her properly. Derail over.
  17. Most of you either lurk or don't follow the high school football forum, but I told people all year that they were sleeping on North Crowley. Cunningham is a serious athlete and baller, and Becton will more than likely turn him into a terror and NFLer.
  18. He's supposed to be 14-15 years old; must have been the roughest 14-15 years in history.
