  1. I concur. Not sure why Caleb Williams wouldn't consider Gainesville, Napier seems to like dual threat QBs. You can tell Napier used his time as an assistant wisely and paid attention.
  2. Every recruit that is "hotly" contested between us and the gooners is required to do something in order to burn any bridges to Austin and fire up their fan base. Even recruits we didn't recruit or showed only a passing interest in sometimes do it. It's part of their slope-headed okie cosa nostra code.
  3. He really is looking good. All the max flow bleeders around here lamenting his performance in drills can return to the football board.
  4. Yes, his defense is vastly improved and is superior to Jones.
  5. If Jones is going to continue to get his shot blocked or turn the ball over when driving then he loses his chief advantage over Febres, who can shoot and his greatly improved defense is much better than Andrew's. Febres is a much needed insurance policy for games when Jones' shot isn't falling.
  6. More concerned with sabotaging the Ramada Inn than bolstering the bonfire.
  7. And JB looks like the Crypt Keeper these days.
  8. Yeah, it may always be a matter of "It only takes one renegade booster" to change the sheet music, but by and large, the USC network very much resembles the alums at Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame, Washington, et al. As CTJ so appropriately describes them, they are patrician by nature if not birth.
  9. Sorry if I'm being slow, but is this a repudiation of the asshat who engineered Fuller's departure?
  10. Does Willie Lyles ring any bells? This isn't exactly Apocalypse Duck.
  11. This is recency bias. I suspect you have little knowledge of history. Maybe I'm just an old. But if LSU had been a sleeping giant then other schools with actual richer football legacies might have hit on three cherries. For all of LSU's advantages, why couldn't anyone save the GOAT make it work? Sure, after Saban planted the seeds even stumblebums like Les and Ed won. But you are full of recency bias shit.
  12. I thought Napier was extremely impressive both before and after the game with us.
  13. Sure, you're right. I guess my point is that the aggy appetite for national recognition will be their undoing. Their lack of self-awareness and insularity will betray them and come as a complete surprise.
  14. The Chronicle has too many aggy readers to be honest with them. On the other hand, the SEC has completely seen through their schtick (apart from paid mouthpieces like that fraud Feinbaum) and if The Athletic becomes firmly entrenched then it will eventually cut the cord with pravda on the brazos. Only puffer fish puss bags from fish camp will continue to delude themselves. Water always finds its own level. Same with aggyrrhea.
  15. By the broad brush you paint with, who might not be considered a sleeping giant? Washington won a national championship under Don James. Georgia Tech, Colorado and BYU? If Saban had taken the job almost anywhere, in retrospect they would have been a sleeping giant per your reasoning.
  16. Check their football history, pre-Saban they were mediocre most years until you go back to the 60s. Gerry DiNardo reference makes me wonder if my sarcasm meter needs a tuneup.
  17. LSU was considered no such thing from the time that Cholly Mac retired and Saban appeared on the scene at Red Stick. Heck, they weren't a giant - sleeping or otherwise - most of the time McClendon was there.
