  1. Hurtt would be cool but he’s also a DC, have to think he stays in the NFL. Rocker from Philly would be a great choice. Karl Dunbar is out there as well with a great background and was at Bama with Sark. Probably not:? John Scott at Detroit spent time with Muschamp at SC and has long CFB resume Cowboys DL coach Aden Durde was on Falcons staff with Sark and Quinn. John Timu is Asst DL coach w the Chargers, and played safety for Sark at UW. He’s pretty young in his career
  2. Actually not. It’s Inoke Breckterfield - who has decent resume of his own. But if Inoke goes to Bama, does it opens up Roach-to-UT?
  3. On the defensive side of the ball, all the hires have had a relationship with either Justin Wilcox (most of them) or Muschamp. Bo Davis is the one that boggles me but Sark had hired him at USC in 2013. Roach or Tuioti make a lot of sense, but if it is Lanning to Bama, one of these is available
  4. Fuckity fuck fuck Bo! Though I’d he has wanted to coach the entire DL, that’s a tough deal and seems like he was in a PK-or-me ultimatum. Oddly enough, both PK and Nansen have experience as DL coaches - not to Bo’s level of reputation. Joyner would be cool, and Orgeron would be blast. would Sark look at anyone in the NFL, and possibly Tracy Rocker with the Eagles (as it seems Sirianni is on thin ice there). Rocker has long been considered an elite DL coach and was at Tenn under Pruitt - who coached at Bama with Sark - and So. Carolina with Coach Boom. So, maybe a link? Or just wishcasting since I’m moderately depressed about Coach Bo.
  5. PK is the chef, Nansen is the sous chef, and Joseph is the maître D telling everyone about the specials that are not actually available.
  6. Thanks - this is what I referred to earlier. My bad @closetojumping I wonder if this move is really less about money, and more about getting paid to work where his daughter is, and back with his close friend. (And hopefully, not to go back to drinking with his close friend to creep his daughters’ friends)
  7. Yes, at face value that is a loss on my part. The intent was to portray the continuity as meaningful for development of an individual prospect recruited by a particular coach. Believe me, I have no reason to stand on a hill for Giles or Mac at this hour
  8. Also worth mentioning that the OL and DL coaches would also have been the same for 4 years straight. That has not happened since Oscar Giles (does it really count?) and Mac McWhorter.
  9. Absolutely this. The “turn your head when the WR eyes light up or slows” is taught at least at the HS level. Not everyone gets it, that’s fair. And perhaps the CFB allowance of face-guarding has altered some coaching styles. But it is taught I’m also finally done with Gideon or Joseph or both. They have had the same group for nearly three years, and the secondary is consistently lacking. Our best safeties we’re a walkon and true freshman. They recruit exceptionally but that’s seemingly it. Take Nansen as Co-DC/LB to give you another great recruiter, and let PK replace Joseph or Gideon.
  10. I totally agree that Nansen is a witch recruiter - and would be so at Texas. The fact that IT is the first to mention this gives me some pause on its actual veracity
  11. I thought @closetojumping (or someone else- sorry if misappropriated) had mentioned that Nansen was Sark’s (heavy) drinking buddy back in the day. It’s interesting that Sark has seemingly never gone to his previous list of assistant coaches even when they’ve been widely available. It almost seemed like he purposely avoided them. Just my thoughts on this
  12. Have to wonder that if Domani Jackson is any good, he follows Donte Williams to Georgia.
  13. Of course! Sadie‘s is a Day 1 or 2 automatic. Our other personal favorites are Saggio’s and Golden Crown. Saggio’s was the pre-game hangout for us.
  14. Both of you deserve more rep than I’ll ever have; and seeing as I’ll be back in NM next weekend, Blake’s is definitely on the list!
  15. Wow. I feel like that’s out kicking UNM’s coverage. Bronco is solid and deserves to be at a hard-working program that will achieve with underachievers. UNM football is barely there to pass time until basketball season.
  16. Ikaika Malloe is another former UW associate of PK. Coaches the heck out of the DL and EDGE at UW and UCLA. Seems able to recruit the west coast and may bring/keep Polynesian ties. In all honesty, this seemed to be a matter of when for Choate, so Sark and PK likely have their guy ready. JUST NO FREAKING STOOPS!
  17. I thought Avalos was being considered for other DC spots? As long as the replacement can also recruit with Choate’s energy, make it happen!
  18. I think that for Choate, it’s more about being a HC again and going back to the mountains. I should think staying at UT gives him a better P5 opportunity, and probably after some of realignment dust dies settles
  19. Scouring some Boise St boards: seems like their “insiders” feel that the only reason Choate wouldn’t take that job is because he’s offended he wasn’t picked over Avalos a few years ago. But the job seems to be either Choate or the interim guy. Some there are pining for Kellen Moore….
  20. Can we haz Barion Brown if this goes down?….
  21. @Magus Ossiswith the goods. My experience is that high-level athletes without a complicated meniscus tear, a BPTB graft, and an attentive/aggressive rehab program can be back well within 9 months. You know that any prolonged immobilization of his knee will set him back next fall more than anything. I’d be upbeat about his rehab program at least.
  22. Avalos or Choate? Yes. Wait wut Choate coached at Boise St with PK (and Justin Wilcox) before going off to be a HC on his own. Wilcox moved on to Wisc, Tenn, then to Cal. PK went with Petersen to UW. Aválos mostly came up after this group, under Harsin and was promoted when Harsin went to Auburn. interestingly enough, Wilcox was Sarks first DC at UW (and prior to Petersen/PK)
