  1. What might be more interesting is that Boise St just fired Andy Avalos. I wonder if PK or Choate would be interested there. Actually, also could just bring Harsin back in. That’s convenient
  2. Eh, it’ll be streaming on PornHub the same day
  3. Does this coincide with the rumor of Jordon Davison reclassifying to ‘24?
  4. My two cents agrees that most of the play-calling was like a scrimmage. The first 2-3 series were/scripted so that’s where Sark admittedly came out with passing plays (like 5-7 in a row). Ideally Sark and Co fix the back foot issue - Quinn had that issue last year and also looks different when he plants and follows through. I feel that the Red-Cat series was a single play that is likely to give Sark and Co film to teach of off and or adjust off of.
  5. From Canyon Lake, the Shaggy Bevo watches over me. I am one with the Shaggy Bevo and the Shaggy Bevo watches over me.
  6. So…. He dropped it at Isa’s place? Good thing Major isn’t on staff - or should be?
  7. Maybe details on a Coleman tangent, but didn’t Sark say this about Coleman AFTER Wiggins was retained by Alabama and Simmons stayed at OU? And fuck all, Raymond would have been excellent.
  8. Did Tee Martin get absolved from the Tennessee/Pruitt stuff? He was technically on that staff, but I cannot see that he was implicated in the scandal directly. Also his son plays baseball for U of Miami. Would absolutely love him in staff though.
  9. European athletes have the “ability” to play with an implanted defibrillator (AICD) so within -seconds- of his heart going out, he was immediately resuscitated. With minimal impact to cardiac and brain blood flow. AICDs aren’t as hip in the US
  10. I’m not sure what you’re specifically referring to - death? Even with placement of an AED, survival rates after SCD range from from 30-50%. Maybe there some outliers but that’s ASSUMING an AED is in the chest within 4-5 minutes. Near-immediate chest compressions get blood to the brain to dramatically decrease the risk of brain hypoxia, but the AED and the ability to resume cardiac Rhythym is key to all survival. Medical personnel available should be trained on it and shit- it’s like one of two scenarios any sports doc, trainer and EMT should know cold. You might know something in life - but I lecture on this exact topic regularly.
  11. Until more specific info: he experienced sudden cardiac death. Maybe he had an underlying condition or not or maybe he got thumped in a one-in-a-million shot (commotio cordis). The equivalent of a “widow maker” heart attack, and yes, quite literally “dropping dead.” He’d be more than lucky to be alive. After about 4 minutes, yes the oxygen deprivation kicks in in multiple locations including the brain. This is not something people tend to survive, period. (Not trying to be a Debbie downer, I have to use factual rationalization as a coping mechanism.)
  12. Unless rules have changed with the Transfer Portal, schools can request medical records and the player can provide as much as they want to. The school and their staff can review it all and even request to talk to his previous docs and staff. No one who formerly treated him has to say anything negative or positive though. I actually think he can do more imaging and outside opinions on his own and provide a “recommendation” - like how many players are medically disqualified from one school and pop up somewhere else.
  13. Thanks - I’m out of town now. But every honest opinion boils down to this same thing. He’s likely dislocated multiple times; his glenoid and labrum are shit. You’re correct though: if his last surgeon duct taped that stuff well enough, he can hopefully last on a season-to-season basis.
  14. Not to bag on when the point has been made, but anyone in the medical field in Texas who says this is lazy: either intentionally or because they assume they don’t care to know better. Most folks in the medical field in Texas know that the original name is UT Health Science Center of San Antonio and typically refer to it by its old acronym “UTHSCSA” (sounds like “you-tusk-a”). Yes I’m an alum, yes I was there during the name change to “UT Health - San Antonio”. As I’ve stated before, I’m not a nurse, so yes I’m a poors. - I’ll consider my rant completed-
  15. This certainly gruntles me. But I’m also very much in favor of grabbing a starter-level LB in the portal.
  16. I read this as the coaches feel comfortable with what-they-have unless a particular person becomes available. Blackwell played well in the final few games at Will and adding an immediate impact player like Lefau and/or Hill decreases the need for a non-starter-high-impact LB in the portal. Still need an EDGE/Edge/DE/whatever
  17. For some reason I thought this was reported as due to mono. Which actually makes the weight gain impressive. Then again, I could be completely wrong
  18. While Card clearly improved over last year, the team (and Sark’s) long term success was never based on him being capable. The moment Ewers committed was the moment Card was relegated to come in and hand the ball off and complete a few passes, barring Major-like circumstances (there weren’t). This offense was never a great fit and pissing ourselves because the backup QB is moving on is not the way now.
  19. Not a attack on you, but outside of: Ewers, Sanders, Banks, Campbell, and maybe Williams on offense, and, Murphy and Barron on defense, I’m not sure I’m sweating a loss from anyone else. Haven’t reports shown that Ford, Sweat, and Watts plan to return? All the guys listed seem to be pretty damn plugged in to the program right now. Edit: forgot about J. Thompson. He’s solid enough that it would hurt, and for some reason I’ve wondered about him transferring. But we know the staff is already trying for a S in the portal, not counting BJ Allen and Williams (we think) in the wings
  20. Getting to 8-5 is fantastic improvement and all and I’m generally so fucking happy to be a Longhorn fan right now. But, great coaches at all levels are always looking at available coaches who could be clear upgrades to the current staff, even if they’re alumni. I definitely think this staff is solid and won’t lose sleep over the same group coming back. But let’s not think that it’s the perfect squad who shouldn’t be considered for upgrading On Marion: would suck, but the guy has never stuck in one place very long. It’s likely that he was only here for 2-3 years max anyway. Can’t be mad at him for moving up in this world.
