  1. Freeman had the head to head win over Elko last season. And that was coming off the blunderous loss to Ohio State.
  2. That last paragraph just shows how much making it up that guy is doing on this recruitment. DK announces he is deciding within the next day = Oregon lock for this 9.95er. No sources, nothing else.
  3. The approach being broken at this one position is what sticks out to me. DT recruiting had a high risk profile this year since there aren't a lot of great in state DT options, we replaced our DT coach, and we went big game hunting for national targets. Yet, it didn't appear that Texas had a strategy or mitigations to match this risk. For example, there weren't any backup DT options brought in for June official visits or visits during the spring. It doesn't make sense why Texas has a bad approach at this one position and not the others.

  5. Sounds like we might learn today the strength of the Texas NIL vs Alabama NIL
  6. Reminds me of this scene from the Chernobyl series Can anyone dub this to fit the current aggie context?
  7. Good thing there are eleventy billion select teams in Houston. I swear there are more select baseball teams than Mexican food restaurants in Houston.
  8. Any updates on all these aggie lawyers putting together rock solid cases to sue the pants off UT and Schloss for unsportsmanlike conduct? I need more misery to scroll through
  9. The Omaha airport is such a depressing experience. Terrible place to process all that is going on for aggie fans
  10. Schloss can go 0 - 1,000,000 as a head coach here, and it will be worth it for what happened today.
  11. Maybe Brooks is the guy Gerry mentioned yesterday as having given silents to two schools. Gerry was saying this when he was talking about Texas possibly having 4 silents, but didn't know for sure because one guy had likely given silents to two schools.
  12. Based on how Gerry and CJ are wording their percentages/trends takeaways, sounds like Moore, Mills, and Pettijohn are silents.
  13. I think Fasusi and Haywood are the only elite guys they are in on beyond what they have committed. They will get decent guys, some that we would want in our class. But I don't see them making a push for a top 5 class. Somewhere around #10 seems about right.
  14. I am really bothered by the number of posters in this thread that are double spacing after a concluding punctuation mark. It's one space people. This is the way of the world now.
  15. I agree. Going 8-4 is really, really special from the perspective of keeping the mediocrity trend going. Kinda like seeing Khris Davis hit .247 four years in a row. Special to see, but doesn't amount to anything meaningful.
  16. What's really phenomenal is the spin 9.95ers can put on something so meaningless to give readers a nice warm and fuzzy about a recruit they have no hope in getting but that warm and fuzzy keeps the readers clicking for more.
  17. Texas surrounded the 40 acres with stockpiles of ham to keep Ketchum off the scent of this visit
  18. The way Gerry and Bobby were talking this morning about Texas being tenacious in transfer portal recruiting and not taking a "no," this would make sense
  19. QB got a rating of a floor of 4 and high of 5. So, yes, he does have that potential.
  20. That's a fair take. The 1-5 rating I set is likely too hard for a K / P to get a 5. Regardless, I think Auburn is a good kicker and he will help us win games this year, but I don't think he is or will be great / elite.
  21. Now that the portal is closed, and it seems that the roster is pretty much set for 2024 save a potential grad transfer portal addition, here's how I am rating the position groups: Ratings: Liability/Unknown Some Holes / Struggle Often Average / Serviceable (UDFA talent) Good (Draftable Talent) Great/Elite (1-3 Round Draft Talent) Ratings are two numbers: (floor / potential) Offense QB: (4/5) - Quinn hopefully performs as a RD 1 QB; Arch Manning is ready RB: (4/5) - Deep and talented RB room; will CJ Baxter or Jaydon Blue be one of best RBs by year-end? WR: (4/5) - Plenty of talent and depth, just need to find the right mix TE: (3.5/4) - Helm and Niblack are solid TE weapons (although for different roles) OL: (4/5) - A lot of talent and depth. Williams is talented, but replacing a RT who got drafted won't be without some issues. How long will Conner start? Defense DE (4/5) - Lots of talent and depth. Getting pressure from the edge should not be an issue this season DT (3/4.5) - The Arizona transfers help set a solid floor; Collins is the real upside for this unit LB (3.5/4.5) - Hill is special, Gbenda has experience, and Lefau and Gullete have talent CB (3/4.5) - Muhammad is a stud, but a lot depends on the development of the true FR and what Cole from the portal can do at the P4 level NB (3.5/4.5) - Barron and Guilbeau are solid NB options S (3.5/4.5) - Please start Mukuba next to Williams. Freshman are talented, but unproven Special Teams K: (3/4) - Auburn is a known commodity P: (1/3) - A lot depends on Kern or a portal addition
  22. I'm guessing at least one transfer is included in this bunch
  23. He needs to lower the dose on whatever he is taking
