    1. definitely looking for money or stirring the pot because of difficult idiots with unreal expectations at OSUĀ

    2. Handed a championship team and hasn't won shit ; loses his main rivalry game

    3. Actually a pretty good and highly paid coach that can maintainĀ ; hasn't actually had to build a team or culture much less pur out a bonfire dumpster fireĀ

    4. Can't handle criticism - see 1Ā

    5. Why leave a perennial contender when you're paid 10M to go to A&M ??Ā

    6. Aggy gonna pay this son bitch 15M to lose to TexasĀ

    Edit

    7. BIG has had 1-2 teams that could even compare with OSUs talent , he wants to take over A&M and play Texas , LSU , Bama , Oklahoma and Georgia ? This sounds like the best 8-4 coach money will ever buy youĀ

Some remaining P5 coaches with bigger names and some potential availability: Dabo, Jake Dickert, Jeff Brohm, Lance Leipold, Mike Gundy, Sonny Dykes, Gus Malzahn, PJ Fleck, James Franklin.Ā Ā

More than half of those are ridiculous. Jeff Brohm would be an interesting hire, as would Liepold, Dickert, and Gundy.Ā

    I still think it's Elko.Ā

Brohm is some sort of Louisville legacy. He is likely home unless an actual top 5 comes callingĀ

  3. I'm still doubtful he comes back .Ā  yes I know the scuttlebutt , but if he grades out he's gone.

    Ā

If he comes back it will probably blow people's minds because we haven't had a qb with all the surrounding pieces this good since McCoyĀ

    Ā

Would be the best thing for Texas for an experienced Ewers to lead us through year 1 of SEC , seems like striking goldĀ

Most of the Heisman contenders are multi year starters and historically QBs tend to get better the more time in a system.Ā

Expectations for a Ewers return would be sky fucking high and I'm here for it if it happensĀ

  4. The only way Oregon or Bama can get in over Texas is the eye test .

    Ā

    OregonĀ

    - plays a soft SOS, easy to look good playing puffs

    - no significant ranked wins , lost to the only top ranked team on their scheduleĀ

    Ā

    Bama

    - lost to texas at home ?

    - good but weaker SOS than Texas

    Ā

I'm going to be real pissed if we win out and miss it. Still hoping for some upsets to clear this upĀ

Even that is debatable.Ā  Is beating UGA (12-1), Ole Miss (10-2), LSU (9-3), and Tennessee (8-4), A&M (6-6), Arkansas, Kentucky, Auburn, Miss State really much better than beating Bama (12-1), KState (9-3), OU (10-2)/OSU (9-3), Kansas (8-4), ISU (6-6), Tech, TCU, Houston, BYU this year?

I don't see how that is close to enough of a difference to outweigh a 10 point road win head-to-head.

This and the Oregon lack of SOS are what I keep drum beating on .

If Bama beats Georgia that should only strengthen our case since we beat Bama at home.

    Ā

If none of that matters let's just schedule la tech or some crappy California teams for recruiting and be done with itĀ

The longer they have no coach the more their current good players get antsy.........

I'm moderately impressed with the lack of leaks, but this convinces me they don't have a clue who they are hiring and probably don't have the liquidity to make a hire they actually wantĀ

Isnā€™t that usually the case now? Usually a good bonus structure for winning championships, how far coaches advance in postseason tournaments, winning it all.Ā

It's definitely part of the structure but compared to executive compensation in other industries its small.Ā

Most certainly make most of their compensation from incentives , not from salaryĀ

    Ā

I'd go as far as say stacking bonuses for rounds of playoffs and championships , multi year bonuses for consistency.Ā

    Ā

Things that drive the coaches for success.

    Ā

This is in stark contrast to the golden albatros type contracts schools like A$M are giving out. I do not understand or agree with guaranteed money when performance can't be guaranteedĀ

To me it just seems like a missed opportunity for the Big 12 to create some interest in the entire slate of games this weekend. Supposedly there are scenarios where the UCF/Houston game can have an effect on who is going to Arlington. Tell me what those scenarios are and who to root and I'll probably tune in on Saturday. But as it is, I'm not watching that dogshit. Just poor leadership from the league office.Ā

When you say things like it just make me realize the conference is not just malficient , it's also incompetentĀ

    Ā

What losing Texas does to a mfĀ

I think the consternation coming from fans is mainly the fact that the conference should have been able to have a little foresight & worded their tie-breakers better so that they didn't need a clarification in week 11 & need to send out statements outlining the possible scenarios before the last week of the season.Ā
