  1. No offense, but similar to hiring people , with this carousel i'd be continuing to interview to get my list of tier 1 / tier 2 candidates lined up . Once seasons start wrapping up i bet its going to be a shitshow and there's going to be some brides left at the altar
  2. These fucks were all excited to get the first home game back in the series just to run into a brick wall for 3 hours. They think the first home game vs a&m is not going to be well attended ?? Fuckers are going to wish they swapped years after we get done with them
  3. And apparently used to working with the well regarded
  4. There is even some noise that Michigan is willing to leave the BIG over this, amazing . I don't think Michigan is wrong, PE kills everything it touches . Total Offense intended for any PE Lurkers floating around. I could see why some lower tier schools may want what they think are some low rate loans or whatever, but we all know this is just the first hit to get their knives into the house to cut them into pieces. Agree with @Francisco 2.0 there is 0 reason for OSU or other top schools to even entertain this. WTF are they going to do with an extra 133M anyways ?
  5. I think this carousel we are seeing a bunch of coaches explore, but i think we are going to see an unprecedented stay in coaches at their current gigs . I think a bunch of the schools hoping they land a large fish end up going smaller with a black eye but for the better overall. The playoffs have opened some doors to smaller schools that simply did not exist before . Boise broke through last year, Tech is on the cusp, Louisville was on the cusp last year and this year. Why go to some big time program that will fire you for 9 wins, when your alma mater or some smaller school will pay you almost as much ? what if they give you 80% of the payouts for a playoff run ? I keep hearing HC are ego maniacs , well offer one a $4M deal with incentives for 10+ wins, conference championships, playoff runs, and national championships. you knock them all out, you get $15M , you get 9 wins you get $4M . Performance based pay, how good are you really ?
  6. the problem is that this is considered collusion , paradoxically divorced from government employee regulation even harder from by NIL/NCAA issues. its going to take multiple top universities to start resetting the incentive structures, and there is a ton of FOMO out there causing them to act irrationally. i was really hoping sarks contract since he came in as OC would be of the style you're mentioning I agree way too much of the salaries are guaranteed salary, elsewhere in the world you have a mix of performance and stock incentives to balance the sheets .
  7. both sides of this are way too quiet, and as @Tex Pete pointed out Aggy doesn't know how to STFU my guess is he's trying to both extort a historical elko sized jimbo++ package from aggy as well as see what his options are outside of college station. dudes going to parlay the shittiest season schedule ever for generational wealth one way or another though
  8. got to say i appreciate all you misers in here being so versed in aggie lore no one even bats an eye at this shit
  9. I feel like the days of this are dwindling unless something major again changes with NIL or a major staffing evolution happens to support head coaches (yes i realize some are trying this GM model) at the top level, though we'll continue to see more long terms at smaller schools that don't have much money or success anyways. Right now the pendulum has swung from treating athletes basically as slaves to seasonal free agents, thats a rough gig to manage
  10. stupid sip, you have to start counting after 1974 but then also count our 1939 championship
  11. yup, like wild card playin games that are coordinated into games that haven't been yet played for the first level If it happened this year it might be say Georgia vs OU and Texas vs Ole Miss , then the winners of those games play
  12. i don't see no shoes
  13. I would hope Sark has kiffin on speed dial myself
  14. I think the core problem is the fan base actually has the like the coach and this is rarely the case by the time they are fired. Coach O probably could have been reassigned to mascot and everyone would have been like yea that works.
  15. just to throw some gas on the fire , but vanderbilt doesn't even summon enough viewers to pass a flailing Florida https://sports.yahoo.com/article/sec-dominates-college-football-tv-174107770.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAMT44GReEYWRCKRwrGG8Y5LTZtJjPwVqJenMoutot-UBnyB-w2pmxGkI2gc7mmuNSkWIRcEgxbBBiWPDIo3do6T_10IpXufTqcDaksF0gxG6corGMin4mSUJNyOnqpbVfaTxIyPmrDvzjvJacxpGuRRM3p3pUIOvA6wj9-8kd707
  16. Ohio state last year , and in 2014 with a bad vtech loss . 2007 lsu .
  17. Depends on ou vs Bama but yes
  18. Its not near enough to potentially put your school and athletic department at the mercy of some penny pinching, value scraping, PE vultures either. USC and Michigan are correct in trying to kill this, PE scraps everything for parts leaving them shells of their former selves.
  19. Last thing aggy wants texas is at 9-2 and them having a game to give up for us to hit the playoffs
