  1. 7 hits. Let’s get some more.
  2. Or, making plays. Nice defense boys!
  3. Yep. But looking like we can cause more damage later.
  4. What was Deggs saying about this meat?
  5. Galvan has been wearing helmet and detachable mask all season. Why the change?
  6. Oh ok. Then how should we calculate being top 10% like Troph wants?
  7. It was probably Ardoin, or Duplantier parents. Or if a recent player, maybe Eric Kennedy?
  8. Yep. Pierce gets hammered for being the pitching coach and then narrative goes hard on him. Fact is, this staff is ranked 45th in country in ERA. I'm not saying that is great (or Texas standard), but certainly not our worst ever (go look at 1996-2000 - 6+ team ERAs). There are only 9 teams in NCAA below 4 in ERA in 2024. 9. No team in country is below 3.6 ERA. Pierce gets hammered for not working the portal. He had pitchers signed from LSU, Baylor, ND, and Duke who didn't throw a pitch (Fontenot did but ended up a head case). He also brought in a guy from San Jacinto who has been great. I think he has done decent for what he had to work with. The 5 guys that are injured/quit weren't projects. They were all supposed to be heavy contributors. Pierce has had to rely a lot more on his developing players and the results show that. Some games we are great, others we are all over the map.
  9. You pissed at Fontenot, Rigney, Witt, Mercer and Santos?
  10. Ha! This is coming from Mr. Show Your Work. I actually show my work and get met with Michelle Obama? In Pierce's 7 seasons, who has won the CWS, by year?
  11. He was runner-up. I believe we call that "being competitive" around here.
  12. I assumed if you make it to the CWS, everything below this has likely occurred. Pierce's resume: CWS Titles - 0. CWS Competitiveness - 3-6 Record. Third place finish. CWS Appearances - 3 in 6 seasons Playoff Wins (I assume this is regional and super regional) - 21-6 Playoff Appearances (I assume is the regionals) - 6 out of 7 seasons. Conference Titles - Champs in 2018, 2021, 2023 and Runner-up in 2024 Conference Tournament performance - Runner-up in 2017 and 2022 Variance of performance season to season - Post season 6 out of 7 seasons? Roster Management - ???? Staff Hiring and Management - ??? His staff has followed him at each place he has gone. His peers have worked for him (Rod). Alumni work for him (Street and Rupp). Pros work for him (Tulo). Recruiting - Top 10 classes for 3 years in a row now.... Development - Howser Award - Melendez, Golden Spikes Winner and/or Finalist - Melendez, Clemens, Madden, National Player of the Year - Clemens, All - Americans 2017 - Morgan Cooper, SP (Third Team), 2018 - Kody Clemens, 2B (First Team), 2020 - Bryce Elder, SP (Second Team), 2021 - Ty Madden, SP (First Team), 2022 - Ivan Melendez, 1B (First Team), Murphy Stehly, OF (Second Team), Pete Hansen, SP (Second Team), 2023 - Lucas Gordon, SP (First Team), Lebarron Johnson Jr., SP (Second Team), Dylan Campbell, OF (Third Team), Conference Awards- 2018 Kody Clemens, 2B Player of the Year, David Pierce Coach of the Year, 2021 Ty Madden, P Pitcher of the Year, David Pierce Coach of the Year, 2022 Ivan Melendez, 1B Player of the Year, 2023 Lucas Gordon, LHP Pitcher of the Year, 2024 Max Belyeu, OF Player of the Year
  13. South San Antonio High School[edit] After briefly playing baseball professionally, Gustafson embarked on a successful 14-year-high school coaching career that began in 1953 at South San Antonio High School in San Antonio, Texas. During his 14 seasons at South San, Gustafson's teams won the Class 3A State Championships an impressive seven times: 1958, 1959, 1961, 1963, 1964, 1966,1967.[1]
  14. He has been to the CWS twice. He is 0-4. No way. Is that is how it is done?
  15. Well, one is from 2016 and the others go through 2024. In 2016, we hired the right guy. Those other guys have nothing on DP in 2016.
