When we went to Tulum last summer, the hotel asked us to throw toilet paper into a trash can instead of flushing it. Installing bidets seem like a no brainer.
I preached to our tour guide about the awesomeness of bidets. He had never heard of such a thing, and said he'd order one from Amazon Mexico.
A month? I look forward to it every day.
I've been going into the office early, and before my typical bowel evacuation schedule. This means I've been wiping my ass with toilet paper which is gross.
First 5 things I do when I get home... check if dinner is cooking, yell at the kids, pour a whisky, change into my silk house robe and slippers, and wash my ass
Wow. We have a $700M project due in < 2 weeks. It’s a private project, so hopefully the developer will be more understanding.
Not saying it 100% they’re to blame, but 99.999% sure they’re to blame.
Some idiot in my company opened a file they shouldn’t have, and we now have a massive data breach on our hands.
I worked a few hours yesterday and everything was working. I just tried logging on to my account using my laptop, iPad, phone. All nope. Password is incorrect. Can’t send remind, can’t reset it either.
If IT fixes it somehow, they’ll have to help 4000 people reset their passwords. Might as well call in sick because tomorrow is going to be completely unproductive.
It does feel weird, but you also get the freedom of not lugging another 247 oz of metal.
As for the ratio thing, think of it as a foreign exchange between the USD vs other currency. You buy the item that has a lower perceived value with the thought that at some point its perceived value increases and you sell it back for a profit.
When I was actively buying PM, my dollar cost average for buying gold and silver was $1,621 and $29.5, respectively, for a ratio of 55:1.
The current market ratio is about 87:1.
Financially it doesn’t make sense for me to trade silver for gold because I’ll be taking a loss. But my reasons are a) I believe the ratio will continue to grow in gold’s favor; b) 250 oz of silver is heavy AF, and my safety deposit box is only so big.
The “rule” at the time was:
My wife goes to the office 3 times a week for 3 hours. Just enough time to charge her car (free charging but 3 hour limit), meet with her boss for 30 minutes, and take a free tennis class.
OTOH, for the past 3-4 months, she’s at her desk by 730AM with her coworkers on the east coast, and on 8PM calls with her coworkers in China and Japan.
That’s why she makes the big bucks in our family.
My BIL gave us a tiny lazy Susan, maybe 2' in diameter. I hated the idea of having another thing on our dining table, not to mention our dining table is rectangular so would look really silly.
It sat in the garage for about a year, but I relented and put it on our dining. Man, that thing is great. With 6 people in the house, we're not reaching over each other or asking for things to be passed around.
I highly recommend anyone with a table that sits 8+ people to get 1, maybe 2.
They can somewhat fix the problem by having a slightly longer straw that goes to a corner.
I have several bottles of cologne, and all of them have straws like that so you can get to the last drop.
Speaking of stress levels... I did some executive coaching earlier this year thinking I wanted to be a VP at my company. But after 6 months of coaching, I decided that I'm perfectly happy where I am and the VP responsibilities will get in the way of family time.
I don't really account for it, but my parents have alluded that their brokerage account which I've been managing for the past 12 years will come to be at some point. That should get us to $12M by the time I'm 63 with both kids finally off the payroll. My wife and I aren't exactly frugal, but we easily live within our means. The difference with that amount of money would be we fly in economy plus for the extra leg room.
