  1. For whatever reason, Nespresso articles show up in my Google feed. One of the articles was so incredibly stupid. "How to use your Nespresso pod if you don't have a machine." Shit you not, it essentially came down to "Cut open the Nespresso pod. Dump the coffee grinds into a paper filter. Slowly pour hot water over the coffee grinds until you get a nice cup of coffee." I'm surprised they even bothered to write that because whoever the intended readers were, should not be in charge of boiling water.
  2. If the gap is any bigger than 1/8", you'll want to have the backer rod in there before you put in sealant. And agree with all the other suggestions of getting pest control to get in there before you seal up any cracks and joints.
  3. I refrigerator leaked and the water was absorbed by the adjacent MDF panel. The cabinet expanded and the custom laminate detached at the bottom. I used a paper towel to soak up as much water as possible, and used some woodworking clamps to make sure it didn’t expand any more. Thankfully it’s in a corner and not really noticeable to anyone except for me. But I’d like to restore it as much as possible. Any ideas on how I can fix it?
  4. I'm a solid Gen-Xer, and have not idea what these are:
  5. Re the fridge, my wife's boss said she unclogged her drain by unplugging the fridge, and letting it sit for 2 days. We were planning on doing it next weekend after we clean out more of the fridge. But the MFer leaked, a lot, and the water got under the cabinet, which caused the wood to swell, and the laminate is delaminating. Just a bit in the corner where no one but me would notice. But still. MFer. The new fridge arrives on Monday.
  6. Does Tony Blair, former British prime minister fall under our generation? Because he was really good as well.
  7. Before I go to Korean BBQ next time, I’m going to Goodwill to buy some clothes that I’m going to throw away after dinner.
  8. If she was in the US, she be lucky to see the inside of a prison. They’d probably mace her first, then taze her for giggles, put a knee on the back her neck and beat her with nightstick to make sure she “stops resisting”. After she’s in the squad car, they’d taze her one more time for talking back.
  9. Hope his odds are higher than (Abdul can you give me a number crunch real quick?) 32.33 repeating of course % of winning.
  10. Ha! I know the owner of G&G demolition. Helluva guy and his wife is a total milf.
  11. Problem with Michigan is the Arab American diaspora is sitting this one out. I have a coworker who's family lives in Michigan, and they HATE the Biden Administration. Of course they also HATE Trump. So that's why there's the uncommitted movement in Michigan. In 2020, the more of the Muslims in Michigan voted for Biden instead of Trump. If they sit out this one, it could hurt Harris more than Trump.
  12. I was rushing so didn't look at the route options on Apple Maps to get from my house to LA. Just talked Siri and went on my way. The fucking app took me on a tour of LA area freeways. I could have taken my usual route and be there in about the same amount of time (maybe even quicker).
  13. My kid introduced a new Gen Alpha term to us yesterday. Wife to son: “Hey, do you really want to run the 5K next month?” Son: “Yes. Some of my friends are also running, and I want to cook them.”
  14. Hahaha. I’m a man of many talents and responsibilities. I also have good jizz that created amazing kids. Wait ‘til you see what my kid said about the upcoming sports event!
  15. Make sure you cc the raccoons, possums and fire ants.
  16. I don’t know how many times do I have to say this… White people.
  17. I mean it LOOKS cool, but seriously, how long will it take to fully charge a solar-quartz battery/capacitor? 5 minutes in direct sunlight? If you wear it outdoor for at least a few minutes a week, that power reserve will be stuck at full. Might as well just make it an appliqué on the dial.
  18. Is that a power reserve indicator on a quartz watch?
  19. Office manager last week: "BTW you're leading the inclusions and diversity events this month, you should have gotten some emails already." Me: "Wait a minute. What? What emails?" HR coordinate today: "So how's it going on the D&I stuff. Did you get the emails?" Me: "What emails?" HR coordinator: "Lady in Seattle was supposed to send you emails. Here, I'll forward you the emails and link to materials."
  20. I used to go with the wrench Why the wrench? Cause fuck him, that's why. - Will
  21. Shoot, if we're stereotyping, did I also mention I'm teaching my son exponents? He's figured out 2 ^ 11 but still struggles to tie his shoe laces. Oh, I don't have computer geek skills. I'm just good at looking at advertisement emails.
  22. I love Micro Center, which IMO is the best computer store hands down. Walk in, and it's complete geek central complete with acne, greasy hair and Mountain Dew. During covid, they had tons of monitors when they were in short supply everywhere else. Recently, I had been actively looking for a computer to replace the current rig. Micro Center sent out a sales email, selling a Lenovo Legion game rig for sale for $800 so I snagged it. The same rig with the equivalent GPU (RTX 4060 vs Radeon 7600) is $1,330 on the Lenovo site.
  23. I ran into my son’s Jiu Jitsu coach today. He probably has 50+ kids in the studio, and even though I’ve only spoken to him once, he knew who I was. I asked how come my kid is sometimes in the back corner with the advanced belt kids instead of with the other white belts. The coach said for a kid being 3 months in the program, he’s doing well and wants him to learn more advanced techniques instead of just the white felt stuff. Totally impressed that the coaches are paying attention to the development of each kid instead of just lumping them with other kids with the same amount of time in the program.
  24. I ran into the dumbest employee at Home Depot today. I went in to get baseboards for the renovation. 2 each 7’ boards. 2 each 6’ boards. The 7’ boards are clearly the same length, but he measured both of them to be sure. He then measured both 6’ boards… Then he did the math: 2 x 7 = 14. 2 x 6 = 12. 14 + 12 = … he pulls out his phone to add those up because he didn’t trust me when I said it’s 26. I guess if my brain ever regress to an 8 year old state, I can still get a job at Home Depot
  25. Me still awake in our office area that’s just outside of bedroom. She went to bed first and leaves the door open, then asks if I can dim the lights because it’s too bright. Now I’m in bed on my phone scrolling silently the dark, screen brightness all the way down. She just asked if I can turn off the phone because the light is somehow penetrating her eyelids and she can’t fall asleep.
