  1. I sent back a steak one time because it was overcooked (medium instead of medium rare). The replacement was rare. At that point, I just gave up and ate the damn thing instead of complaining. Some places will comp you if you don't like the food. I had dinner with my then GF at NXNW (not sure if it's still around). I ordered the duck, but it didn't taste like the deliciously fatty duck I imagined it to be. I asked the server if this was the duck, who then brough the manager to see how they could resolve the problem. They didn't need to, but they comped me the entree. I turned around and gave the server a FAT tip that would have covered my entree and then some. But yeah, I'm usually a chump as well.
  2. Went for a ride last weekend wearing a t-shirt. Now I get why people wear jerseys. Lots of wind resistance even though the t-shirt clearly shows my father figure. I bought a jersey and will wear it if the weather cooperates. Now... a dumb novice question. When you want to turn left on the street, do you got into the left turn lane with the cars? Or should I just go to an intersection, hit the pedestrian light to cross? I've never ridden on the road, and am intimidated by the traffic and cars. Does that fear gradually subside? There's a fantastic biking trail close to my house, but I have to make a few turns to get on it and back.
  3. Maybe he likes being the cage, or out of the cage. We may never know. And he doesn't give a shit if we know. Because honey badger don't care.
  4. What’s wrong with Cheesecake Factory? Their miso salmon is delicious. I went on plenty of coffee dates in the past. Spend $8 (at the time), see how things went, then either cut bait or transition to drinks, dinner, etc.
  5. 14,000,000,000 for 24 jets? That comes to $583M per plane. Seems expensive. Looking elsewhere, F-35As for the Air Force is < $100M. Higher for export models, but not anywhere close to $583M per unit.
  6. What does a near sighted gynecologist and a puppy have in common?
  7. Maybe the guy thought he had an in because he wore one of these?
  8. Because Texas pays them? Also to remind us how bad John Mackovic was?
  9. Joke’s on on the whale. It’ll be in her soup and stir fry next year.
  10. If you have not watched Avatar The Last Air Bender, you are missing out. Not kidding.
  11. How is it that at the end of a typical day, I have at least 15 apps open on my phone?
  12. Not going back to read the entire thread, but WHY is the OP digging this hole?
  13. He was looking for salt and vinegar chips.
  14. That’s right. I forgot the majority of MAGA are dumb, uneducated, and even worse, ignorant. No wonder they’re calling behind. If they had just put the money in an index fund instead of buying Trump NTFs, they would have gotten a 20% return instead of continue being broke.
  15. The turtle is the enemy of my enemy. It's a god damn Game of Thrones arc in DC. As long as they all die a fiery death in the end, I'm good with it.
  16. I don't understand the talk about economic uncertainty. Yes there was inflation, but it's down to 3.4%. Unemployment is at a record low. Minimum wages have gone up. Stock market for those fortunate to have 401(k) or brokerage accounts has been going gangbusters. Can someone explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old?
  17. What’s the difference between a slice of pizza and a dead baby?
  18. How do you eat string cheese? a) Pulling it apart into long “strings”? b) Bite off the end like you were raised by wolves.
  19. Biden's campaign slogan should be "I won't make things worse than the other guy". Also, will like any post with Tina Fey in it.
  20. I went camping with the boy last weekend. Even though it was cold and we were cabin camping, he still insisted on peeing outdoors. He found a tree that needed watering, and subsequently peed on it instead of using a toilet. He's been doing so since our first camping trip together. I know @Brisketexan would also approve.
  21. Salt & vinegar is even better on fries. It's nostalgia thing. When I was in primary school (in South Africa), we would walk to the nearest swimming pool for PE. On the way back, we would stop at my friend's dad's chicken shop and get some fries, then to his mom's bakery to get a loaf of bread. Those were happy days.
