  1. In listened to Genesis’ Invisible Touch album on my commute home. Great great album from a bygone era. Also listened to some ZZ Top. The live version of Rough Boy is my favorite.
  2. Think I’m gonna pass on the carbon bike. The shop was really clean and the owner seem pretty knowledgeable, but something just seemed a bit off. Don’t know how to describe it. I had actually put down a deposit for an aluminum bike week last weekend. They had a black 54 cm Domane in the shop, but I’m waiting for a green one to become available.
  3. I think he meant Kristen Kreuk. (Who is a half-Asian or part Asian, and most HAPAs are good looking) But Terri Hatcher is hot too.
  4. Is it ever appropriate to ask a waitress out? Asking for a friend. (I'm married, so really asking for friends who might be single)
  5. Looked at the carbon bike in person and it has some road rash on the front fork and a few other smaller blemishes elsewhere, but the frame looks fine. The downshifts were fine, but upshifts were a little rough which is surprising (?) I don’t have experience with the 105 group set. Need to think this one through…
  6. It’s the same size. I’m sitting outside the bike shop now. Wish me luck.
  7. Looking to get into biking again after a LOOOONG pause and I think I've narrowed it down to the Trek Domane frame. A brand new aluminum Domane with 105 groupset. It retails at $1,999 A 2021 carbon frame Domane with 105 groupset. A new SL5 retails for $3,499. The shop claims it is lightly used and is asking $1,950. I haven't seen it in person because it's north of LA, and I don't really go out that way. Assuming the carbon bike is in excellent condition as the shop claims, it seems like it is the better option. Just want to get your thoughts on it, or whether to consider other bikes.
  8. Can’t imagine how many times he’ll pee once he breaks that seal.
  9. So the asshole didn’t do it this way?
  10. Selling a bunch of the kids’ old toys on FB Marketplace. I can understand and deal with the lowball offers. It’s the people who ask if it’s still available then drop off the face of the planet that pisses me off.
  11. Lemme give you a hint. They were all the same way.
  12. From one ecobee owner to another, please teach me how to lock out an adult from changing the acceptable night time temperature to 65°. kthxbye
  13. Me: Can you move stuff so we can put up the Christmas tree? Her: I got you fam.
  14. You see, I think the word engineer is thrown around too liberally. Not doubting the academic achievements of those in facilities maintenance that actually earned engineering degrees. But applying the word to garbage collectors (sanitation engineers), maintenance men (facilities engineers) kinda cheapens the years I paid out-of-state tuition for drinking beer and sleeping through statics and dynamics.
  15. Not sure if this will show up. But this guy get it. https://www.facebook.com/reel/172336032626659?fs=e&mibextid=roAVj8&fs=e&s=TIeQ9V
  16. Newsom's too liberal in some areas, but I'll take him over the long and undistinguished list of republican governors. State income tax is a bitch, but I don't mind paying it. Property crimes, which are partly a result of homeless is an issue, but one can blame the weather and mental illness for the high number of homeless. I don't care about large capacity magazines. But damnit, I want a sports car, with a stick shift, that burns 93 octane gas, and that asshat has supported the ban on ICE by 2035 when I'll be prime mid-life crisis car buying mode. Oh, and we'll need to build a whole lot more powerplants and fix the electrical grid because it already can't support summer heatwaves. Once the percentage of EVs goes from 25% to 100%, it's gonna get worse.
