Took the kids to see my parents in Taiwan. My 84 YO dad lost another 10 lbs or so since I saw him last. It started with getting covid, then having bad GI issues where he was afraid to leave the house in case he sharted (again). He tried everything for the past year without results, but seems like he's having success with a regular dosing of probiotics and enzymes.
With that said, he's still a trooper. He still has a healthy appetite, and he gets his steps in everyday. There was a day when we did 15,000+ steps together, and he kept up with me for the most part. Other than the shocking weight loss the past year, he looks great for an 84 YO man. We visited some family friends, and even though they were around the same age as my dad, they all looked old AF.
Hopefully I inherited some of the same genes, and not ones that caused my grandparents to die of cancer, high BP, dementia / alzheimers, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc.
