  1. Just bought this for… ahem… my son. Team Associates Reflex 14B. It’s 1:14 scale with a 240 motor and only takes small batteries (probably 2200 mah max). I didn’t think he’s ready for anything bigger or faster at this point. If ahem… he likes it, then we’ll get a 1:10 scale buggy later on.
  2. Riding with my boy and realizing he needs a bigger bike. 8 years old and almost as tall as his 11 year old sister.
  3. What are you looking for and where are you looking? I need a new couch and can’t seem to find anything good.
  4. Okay fine. One more photo before I go on hiatus. I don’t recall the last time she transferred eggs from the box to the tray. It’s probably not a big deal to some of you, but it’s bugged me for the past 16.5 years.
  5. Thanks nnm. Thinks aren’t as bad as I make it out to be. It’s just more fun to bitch on an internet message board. Re counseling, I had about 3-4 years, primarily for my temper, but the last counsellor also had a background in child development, and she was AMAZING. She really turned around my life, and taught me a lot of me skills to deal with my kids - who are actually really really good compared to some of their wild friends. I guess it’s time for me to take a break from posting my stuff on this thread and just give a few reactions. Again thanks for the concern.
  6. Wife: The kids are out of school, we should go somewhere before summer camps start up. Me: We spent a week in Hawaii over spring break, do we really need to go somewhere? Wife: Yes, we can just go to San Diego for the weekend. I booked a hotel, it's $400/night. Me: We live 90 miles up the freeway, we don't need to spend the night... So we spent $400 to stay in a hotel (not to mention a crappy $120 breakfast buffet), and we stayed in San Diego for less than 20 hours. Not quite as bad as Knoxtnhorn's wife and SIL's boondoggle to NO, but pretty close. If only my wife spent 10% of her energy decluttering the house instead of booking the next getaway, we'd have a much cleaner house and a bigger bank account.
  7. It's was a Grand Hyatt by the bay. Nice hotel, but the breakfast buffet wasn't anything to write home about. I would have been okay with a breakfast burrito and a cup of coffee. The wife and kids wanted something nicer, and the bill for something a bit nicer at a local brunch place would have been pretty high. Maybe not $120 high, but we've had a few breakfasts that were easily > $80. So this is not a humblebrag, but being genuinely surly about any type of undisclosed / unexplained surcharges.
  8. You sound poor. But seriously. Dinner and breakfast bills both had surcharges. Haven’t seen this since Covid lockdowns ended.
  9. What the fuck is this shit? Surcharge for what?
  10. Someone’s been taking way too much vitamin B12 supplements.
  11. You’ve obviously never seen Mrs. Superhero approach a residential stop sign. The pedal is used mostly to slow to half speed, not pause, let alone stop.
  12. You missed the last part where you pay Brittany, the ex-hairdresser, to shiv BK lady with a broken toothbrush, while whispering in her ear "niveliveslost says hello". Heed Steel Shank's wisdom. He is succinct compared to the likes of Confucius, Socrates, Mencius or Descartes, but when you consider how to resolve all of life's worries, it can be distilled into 1) eating a meal high in cholesterol and fat, 2) drinking cheap beer and 3) laying pipe. Okay, this made me laugh.
  13. Clearly you have not met my wife. In our 17 years, there has not been an order where she doesn't ask a million questions; and then ask for substitutions or things on the side.
  14. Then we wouldn’t have had this awesome song. Yeah. Go straight to hell. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.
  15. Shark was just sharking. Stay out of their natural environment.
  16. I live in a gated neighborhood and my house is the second one after coming into the neighborhood. There’s not much distance to accelerate but some people are already 20+ mph before they pass my driveway. Pisses me off because there are a lot of kids (mine included) in the neighborhood.
  17. I got my raise and bonus today. Who wants to party?
  18. Going white water rafting with my daughter, turning around to see the biggest grin on her face as we hit a big wave.
  19. I bought a sleeping bag (REI Siesta) last month and had to get the long version because the regular length was sold out. Now I’m glad because it was chilly on the last two trips (mid 50s) and nothing better than to burrow deep into the bag to stay warm.
