  1. I'm a Civ noob and have read this elsewhere. Considering giving Civ5 or Civ6 a shot. Leaning towards 6 since it seems to be more friendly to those who are coming at it fresh but may lack some of the depth of strategy in Civ5.
  2. Done. Thanks for the heads up.
  3. Similar for me last August. It'd been since the AMD Athlon days when I built my last PC and I was blown away by how cost efficient it is to build a powerful machine. Plus the headaches of troubleshooting hardware/driver issues were non-existent. Not as powerful as yours, didn't get the x3D CPU and picked up a used GPU off eBay. Did opt for AM5 architecture, though. Ryzen 7 7700x 6700 xt GPU, 12GB VRAM 32GB DDR5 RAM Next I'd like to upgrade my 60Hz IPS monitors. OLED maybe??
  4. Damn, last I played NG was on NES 30 years ago. Holy crap that's amazing.

    Sonos thread

Have had Sonos for years and kind of figured most of their development went into the hardware and connectivity therein. The app has always played second fiddle to their equipment that always just seemed to work and sound great to me. I had no idea about all of the app issues.
  6. Wow great stop. Damn
  7. Let's get a turnover here
  8. Ugh. Should have called a TO there
  9. Wtf. Terrible spot again
  10. Omfg these refs
  11. Wow what a drive
  12. Confirmation bias is deeply entrenched with folks like Anastasis.
  13. I bet Yuki is pissed.
  14. They didn't ignore Leclerc. It was one of the main themes of the race. And the reason they didn't show Hamilton's last lap pass was because Norris crossed the finish line about when it happened. Lots of ins outs and what have yous.
  15. Lmao pic of Derp McCoy. Perfect.
  16. It took me two of his books, but I'm fully committed to Alastair Reynolds' Revelation Space/Chasm City/Glitter Band world he built. Currently on the 3rd book of that whole series.
  17. I'm here for it but didn't realize the extent to which you can customize. A couple months back I was tired of the same old Logitech keyboard and picked up this Cherry KC 200 mechanical. Relatively quiet, solid, comfortable and definitely worth it imo.
  18. Wrong. Holly Rowe is awesome.
  19. On a more local level, our very well regarded principal got the axe from Miles a couple days ago and is now hitting the news. We are supposed recertify as an IB school but the NES curriculum doesn't really allow for that. Our principal pushed back and well, now she's on "administrative leave" https://abc13.com/post/houston-isd-has-few-answers-parents-questioning-harvard-elementary-school-principals-leave-ongoing-investigation/15409427/
  20. Tickets go on sale in February and yes you are correct that you'd be sitting in grassy areas. The 3-day pass is sold through COTA and I don't think that is marked up. There are some 1day GA passes on Ticketmaster that look like about $140 cheaper. Reserved seats look crazy right now. The cheapest ones in the $600 range (3day) are bad viewing angles. If you decide to go, keep on mind that shade is almost non-existent, particularly in GA areas, so bring some portable shade. Another idea that folks do is, instead of dropping a bunch of money at COTA, spend a little less on ticket prices and go to the race in Montreal. That way for the money you also get a cool trip out of it.
  21. RIP legend
  22. Eh, I didn't hate going for it but the playback was questionable.
  23. I was a bit surprised when I saw the trailer for it in the theater. The original Danish one was very well done but it only made a little over $600k in the box office. I'm kind of torn but I'll prob go see McAvoy and Davis go all crazy... Hopefully the original producers can at least get a decent return from whatever royalties once the new one hits.
  24. Team Piastri all the way. His move on lap one was beautiful imho. What a race, Leclerc!
