  1. Went to Georgia James for our anniversary. It's was excellent, but I just have a hard time eating a deliciously expensive cut of steak that I can rival at home on my cast iron with a reverse sear. The ambeance, drinks, appetizers, and of course the occasion made it worth it though. Definitely a special occasion place unless you are Surly 1%.

Went to Corkscrew a couple months back for lunch and you have to get there before 1130 for any semblance of a reasonable wait. But the food was legit.
  3. Bearman in at Haas next year. Anyone have any insight into his lackluster F2 performance? Wondering if it's more team-related but no idea. Let's see what happens with KMag now...
  4. Only 109k for a 1998?? Wow, that's basically gently used for a 4Runner. Congrats on the purchase. Share more pics when you get it.
  5. All of this really makes me appreciate Piastri even more given his age. The guy just puts his head down, races his ass off, and seems like a cool head over the radio. Yin and Yang and all that.
  6. Hadn't seen that clip even if a year old. But when the narrator says "that's something that is hard to wrap our head around", in reference to net zero oil, that kind of sums up the PR challenge. Anthropogenic CO2 for both permanent sequestration and enhanced oil recovery is, in theory, a very practical way for an oil company to approach this era of net zero emission goals. Whether they be pie-in-the-sky or not is another topic IMHO. But why many lay persons with the loudest and most ardent followers are still so negative on net zero oil, assuming it can truly be done economically, is baffling to me. It's simple mass balance. We will see how successful or not Oxy will be at it but if it works, it could unlock massive reserves in areas where current secondary recovery is just not practical because there's no CO2 source. It just needs to not be a money drain, obviously. Maybe people don't understand that CO2 EOR projects are a thing and that we have to actually drill for and pipe the CO2 long distances. IDK...it's not a silver bullet but it's one good piece of the puzzle.
  7. Leclerc...not sure what exactly happened in the pit exit for SQ3. Just missed out on his flying lap. Ugh.
  8. Alright Lando, bring this home.
  9. Checo just can't make headwind within the pack as Piastri overtakes him.
  10. Bernie in the paddock is awesome. Always love her commentary and hope they give her more air time.
  11. Just finished Dracula for the first time. The ending wasn't quite what I was expecting in that it was more abrupt than I'd anticipated. But the prose...beautiful. I think it may turn into a yearly read with my daughters during October/November.
  12. @StassneyHorn, man, deep breaths.
  13. I feel like you've been pounding this message for a while and, while I'd love it to become reality, I have a hard time seeing gas recover in any meaningful way in the near/medium term. The amount of uneconomic dry gas/associated gas we've discovered as an industry is truly amazing. Would love to eat those words, though...
  14. At least Saturday quali was fairly entertaining. That's the best part of the weekend. That and the grid walk lol. They way Brundle told Mbappe's handler to GTFO was glorious.
  15. Ocon and Kmag need to be gone. At least Kmag is able to play the team game when appropriate. Ocon is just a little shit and his driving isn't good enough to make up for it.
  16. Harvard is the same. And the bussing of students that Miles mentioned? No. Hisd needed to call off school earlier today at the latest. But...we just got power back at Alexander and 10th. Oxford and White Oak is still out, though.
  17. Checking in...power still out in 77008, stones throw from Kroger on Shepherd.
  18. Anyone going to Comicpalooza in a couple weeks in Houston? Found out Martha Wells (Murderbot Diaries) will be there and figured I'd check it out. First time going.
  19. I felt very much the same way and was about to give up on it, too, but decided to stick it out. Once I watched the rest of it, it all made sense but in an extremely fucked up way. Like the other poster said, it's a very honest (seemingly) portrayal but beware because it can be very triggering for some.

That didn't even occur to me at the time because I was in a food coma from the ribs and sausage.

I must have gotten a bad cut of brisket at Pinkertons a few weeks back because it was pretty meh. The ribs were on point though. They were amazing.
  22. Just finished Revelation Space. Not bad, and knowing it was his first real novel makes sense. Some things were pretty superfluous to the plot and it dragged in the middle but the ending really picked up. It's like he got so caught up in his world building that he realized he needs to actually end the book. I'll probably read the next book in the series, Chasm City, since the general tone is that his writing style improves and give it another shot. Is that a fair representation? Taking a small scifi break with a thriller/suspense (The Last Word) before getting back to it.
  23. Preaching to the choir I know, but If Aston is truly serious about competing for championships, then they need to have some serious reflection on keeping Lance as a driver. Imo, he did his part well in helping get the team to where they are now as a pay driver, but AM is now ready to take the next step with a better #2 driver. The results so far this weekend are about as glaring as you can get.
  24. Interesting. So they just restarted coverage or did they also restart some actual energy investment funds?
