  1. Wish we were this aggressive in the 1st half. Oh well
  2. I'll check out Undying Mercenaries based on this because we have a bit of overlap looks like. Thanks. The first four novellas of Murderbot Diaries are awesome, too. Loved them all and saw that Apple TV is picking it up. They seem to be targeting the scifi market from what I can tell. Currently on The Girl with all the Gifts at the moment. Not bad so far...
  3. Fran's given plenty of props to Texas in the past when it was warranted. It's just that we suck.
  4. Get some, Sims!
  5. Re: no heat at Love. It was similar at Harvard Elementary. No heat yesterday and today. A lot of the older campuses have so many bandaids it's ridiculous. Requests to replace the HVAC system have been made but it keeps getting rejected...big surprise. I get that it's not cheap to update old schools with modern equipment, but can the people bitching about books, bathrooms, vouchers, etc please just sit down and let the adults fix actual issues such as these? We are sapping resources when we need them most. And the Miles comes out and says he regrets closing schools on Tuesday? GTFO with that BS.
  6. Mine is outside and, like others said, as long as the power is on she should be fine due to the heating element. During the winter storm a couple years ago I played it safe and just drained it but this time I didn't do anything and it was fine (Houston). Rinnai system here.
  7. Lol with this take. No one told you you're racist and you know you'll keep watching. Calm down.
  8. It's still a thing and there are some full developments of it besides just single wells here and there. But it's so clay rich compared to the Spraberry and Wolfcamp that it's just so far down the queue of development. Also, the Barnett in the Midland Basin is now a legit bench (not everywhere, though) and operators are putting capital towards appraising that now, too. It's basically a $60 oil bench before you start thinking about it.
  9. Quinn looks depressed, wth
  10. UW playing lights out and taking control.
  11. Wife got me the first book of Murderbot Diaries for Christmas. Looking forward to giving it a go...
  12. Just finished The Final Architecture series by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Fantastic read. I thought the third bin really came off the page. Less abstract than his Children of Time series.
  13. I'll throw in another for Milwaukee. I like how integrated their battery system is.
  14. What type of smoker is that?
  15. Was with Central Mutual via HUB but switched over to Progressive a week ago. Reaching out to some folks this week to dig a little deeper...
  16. I recently transferred ownership of our rental house to an LLC that I set up. Any suggestions on companies that do business insuring homes/assets owned by an LLC instead of an individual? Would I have to go down the business insurance path?
  17. Good job, man. We are at a similar range...was at 215 this summer and now down to 173 after cutting most carbs and booze. Looking back, can't believe all the crap I was eating throughout the years that I'd somehow justify to myself. On a much better track now.
  18. Just finished the Children of Memory (Children of Time series) and it was fantastic. It picked up a Hugo award this year as well. Highly recommend.
  19. Booger, FSU played like dog shit. That's why.
  20. Agreed. That's basically what Vowels said during their interviews.
  21. It's pretty minimal. They make like 30k net bbls/day from GOM and operate 3, maybe 4, fields. They have a pretty minimal exploration leasehold, too. Guyana sucked all the capital away, understandably. Most of the private players have a more valuable GOM portfolio.
  22. It's what "La Quinta" means.
  23. Looks like XOM takeover of Pioneer is coming to fruition. From WSJ: Exxon Mobil [uS:XOM] is closing in on a deal to buy Pioneer Natural Resources, [uS:PXD] a blockbuster takeover that could be worth roughly $60 billion. A deal could be sealed in the coming days, assuming the talks don’t hit a last-minute snag, people familiar with the matter said. After posting record profits in 2022, Exxon has been flush with cash and exploring options that would push it deeper into West Texas shale. An acquisition of Pioneer, with a market cap of around $50 billion, would likely be Exxon’s largest deal since its megamerger with Mobil in 1999. It would give Exxon a dominant position in the oil-rich Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico, a region the oil giant has said is integral to its growth plans. The Wall Street Journal reported in April that the two companies were holding preliminary talks. Exxon has a market value of $436 billion, so the deal, which would be the biggest takeover of the year, should be easily doable.
