  1. And that's a fair point. However, I should have made it clear that this was a third party equipment provider who was price gouging after they received insurance payment. All doctor bills were responsibly paid, but this was $1000 for poor functioning, recycled equipment. It's unethical and is something for which I have no patience. It's ok to push back. 2. Definitely always push back and slow-play any payment. My wife went to the doctor and ended up getting a heart monitor for precaution. The damn thing never worked properly and we sent it back to the third party company that made the device once we she was done using it. Wife is fine, most importantly. I eventually get a $1000 bill for the monitor and about had my own heart issue. Once the bill was late (on purpose), I negotiated a 30% reduction. Next bill came and didn't pay it. Called the company to 'kill them with kindess' and negotiate an extension only to find out that "management has cleared the bill" and I didn't owe anything. $1000 to $0. Assholes. 3. I sent a connection request on LinkedIn. I hope she accepts! Engineering Education. Those who can't engineer, direct the NSF apparently. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
  4. I thought that there no way this is real. I was wrong. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
  5. I agree. I have the impression that things like this happen less often and/or with less intensity at schools where you have ample options to major in something that provides marketable skills.
  6. I mean, is it that hard to get a reasonable bike for less than 500? My old Specialized MB got stolen back on the day. Now I'm too cheap for that and want something low cost but where the derailleurs are semi reliable. Is an Academy Schwinn the main option? Got damn I hate Craigslist, but a used Trek would be ideal. Plus I want to get a trailer for my girls and a bike for my wife. Adds up quickly. Rant over.
  7. Yeah most of the time it does work out well but when you have skin in the game, your mind working wonders quickly. Our youngest, now 1, had a shit ton of amniotic fluid during pregnancy and we were concerned with what that could lead to postnatal even though my wife was healthy and doing all the right things. Now she's a freaking bulldozer, but right after she was born you are hyper aware of all the little shit that could be going on. It means you are a hell of a dad , MN.
  8. Thoughts on the gas supply issue out in the Permian? Seems like there is a ton of associated gas with all the increased oil production. And now with Apache ramping up gas production in Alpine High, I'm really curious to see how much of a discount Waha is to Henry Hub in the coming year+. Is Mexico or LNG supposed to absorb all this?
  9. Have you had an MRI? I had L5-S1 disk bulge pressing against my nerves and it hurt like hell. After seeing the actual image I was amazed at how much the disk was protruding. Did the standard Mackenzie back excercises initially, but a steroid shot followed by PT worked the best. For bulging disks, they can indeed 'heal' over time, as in your body absorbs the part that is bulging. That seems to have happened in my case, but the shot definitely helped a lot. Being more active, not sitting on my ass at work all the time (standing table), and taking ibuprofen whenever my back feels inflamed all seemed to have helped together. Edit: I saw Dr. Weiner in Houston at Methodist. So sorry no Austin recs.
  10. So we started giving our daycare germ-infested 3 yo honey a couple months ago and it seems to have helped abate the daily sickness/colds. We give her a spoonful every night before brushing teeth. Anyone else notice similar trends? Doing the same thing with our 1 yo girl because why the hell not. I remember my dad saying they used to get gallons of honey at a time delivered to them while living out on the farm.
  11. This x1000. Used to live in Cypress but closer to 249. It took minimum 15 minutes just to get to 290 or 249. Made the commute to the Galleria everyday miserable.
