Fucking. Jealous.

This whole point in our history is quite fascinating and disturbing. You cannot have a functioning society when half the population lives in a different reality. I don't know where we go from here, but I feel like it can't be good.

Literally, on page 2 of Vol. 1:
The report describes actions and events that the Special Counsel's Office found to be supported by the evidence collected in our investigation. In some instances, the report points out the absence of evidence or conflicts in the evidence about a particular fact or event. In other instances, when substantial, credible evidence enabled the Office to reach a conclusion with confidence, the report states that the investigation established that certain actions or events occurred. A statement that the investigation did not establish particular facts does not mean there was no evidence of those facts.
What you have to account for is that Tucker is a liar. They have to fight dirty and that is what they are terrible at. They are dealing with the worst human being to ever hold the office of the presidency and they continue to try and use proper decorum when they need to be slinging his own shit back at him 24/7.
You don't beat this cancer by wishing it away. You aggressively fight back every moment possible and make his life a living hell. You put him on defense every waking moment and take away his ability to control the narrative. I believe the Dems will have their version of a come to Jesus moment at some point this year and finally work in unison again this cretin. What finally gets them to go on a full-blown offensive is anyone's guess because Christ, as stated by others many times, they are bad at this.
The time to be nice and cordial has long-since passed. Get down and dirty and get this country back to some semblance of normal instead of whatever the hell this is right now.
There is no normal. Not again. Not ever. We are broken right down the middle, and it will only get worse.

Contrast this with how most of us would react.
"Brisketexan, there has been a special counsel appointed to investigate [your coordination with Russians, whether you've ever embezzled money from clients, whether you've suborned perjury, etc. etc.]."
Brisketexan reaction: "well, that's annoying. I don't like being accused of misconduct. But okay, cool, hook em." Because....and this is the big reveal....I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO HIDE. I've done nothing wrong.
Someone who has nothing to hide, who has done nothing wrong, MAY get pissed at the prospect of being investigated, because even being accused sucks and is offensive, but he does NOT say "This is the end of my [presidency, career, etc.]. I'm fucked."
"I'm fucked" is effectively a guilty plea.
But we all know that. Barr knows that. Mueller knows that. Everyone knows that. But nothing matters.

I doubt it's an attitude that permeates throughout Bernie's base, but on Twitter it's getting worse and worse. The vast majority of negative Pete tweets come from Bernie fans, and their anger grows on a daily basis. If Kamala or Beto start moving up, they will be in the crosshairs as well.
The Bernie Bros are uncompromising. Give them Bernie, or they’ll kill us all and really show us.
Yeah, I can’t understand why so many of us can’t stand Bernie Bros. -
I’m an Eva Green man myself, but I’ll allow it.
Ill definitely allow Eva green. But you know me, I love the classics. So, Deneuve.-

Nothing wrong with 'cull' in this context; the scooter-riders are the ones we want to cull from the general population. Exterminated works too, of course.

But I still maintain that their are many out there that have pivoted toward the search for objective truth and have evolved to look outside of their confirmation bias-sources.
You have no basis for that contention. I mean, it's a nice wish.
But the existing "skepticism" as to "mainstream media" is in no meaningful way motivated by a collective love of the principles of objective truth. It is motivated by confirmation bias.
People who look skeptically on what CNN or Wapo or the NYT reports fall into one of two classes: 1) people who always look at ANY reporting with some degree of "trust but verify" -- those people haven't changed path since Trump came to power. They consumed information thoughtfully before, they still do; and 2) people who look critically on those sources as "FAKE NEWS," but slavishly lap up everything presented by Fox news, Breitbart, etc. They are confirmation-bias consumers of the highest degree.
Again, there is no silver lining. There is no bright side. The ONLY thing that Trump has driven is that folks who agree with him now only consume "news" that feeds their preferred narrative, and they actually consume every morsel of that "reporting" with ZERO skepticism. These are people who believe that Trump watched Muslims dancing on rooftops in Jersey as the towers fell on 9/11....and the list goes on, for pages and pages.
Trump is not selling an approach to objective truth. Nobody has pivoted toward a search for objective truth. The only increase in "skepticism" is a function of people rejecting information that doesn't confirm their biases. That's it. There is nothing else at any material level.

Brisket, I'll serve up a high hanging curve ball: do you ever question reporting by (say) CNN or MSNBC or Bloomberg or WaPo or the NYT? If so, why?
Surly answer:
Sure I do. Mostly, it's because of their font choice. Sometimes, it's because the reporter doesn't have a great rack.
Sane answer:
Of course. Anytime I read/consume anything, and the facts in any way seem "off" (often, that's because they seem incomplete), I dig in a bit deeper. Also, when I consume information, I tend to separate the underlying facts from the editorializing. And I try not to consume much pure editorializing at all (e.g., I don't listen to Tucker much, I don't listen to Maddow much).

Never said he (Trump)was skeptical, only that during this whole shit show the last 3 years, that it's good the general public is more skeptical of the information they are being fed by the narrative controllers.
Doesn't matter, we'll still get the shit sandwich come 2020.
But they aren't.
They are following the Trumpian lead. They are ONLY "skeptical" of stories that do not agree with their pre-existing positions. That's it. The do not question reporting because "I value objective truth, and want to ensure that I am only consuming true information." The question reporting because "that story does not agree with my preferred narrative, therefore it is fake news."
That's a huge fucking leap BACKWARDS with respect to our information-consumption.
Refusing to simply accept news reporting as true can be a very good thing, or a very bad thing, depending on WHY you do so. Our reasons for doing so indicate that our ability to collect, process, and use information to reach informed conclusions has flown BACKWARDS. There is no silver lining.

All I said was the silver lining for me with regards to Trump's presidency is that the masses are more skeptical and critical of MSM, WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY CONCEDING THAT HE DID'NT INTEND TO MAKE IT HAPPEN OUT OF VIRTUE OR TO DO THE RIGHT THING BUT RATHER IT BEING A RESULT OF HIS INSANE SELF-SERVING MODUS OPERANDI is lauding him?
I don't think so, nice try but nah...that ain't it.
He. Is. NOT. Skeptical.
Skepticism arises out of a perspective that values objective truth and reality. He is 100% opposed to those things.
With respect to every virtue that skepticism brings to the table, Trump champions the exact opposite of those virtues. A story is "true" if it speaks positively of Trump. It is "fake news" if it speaks negatively of Trump. Objective truth has literally ZERO VALUE in his calculus and approach. In other words, if you value a world in which the standard for journalism is objectivity, fact-based reporting, with limited agenda, Trump is the fiercest enemy of that world imaginable. He is not a silver lining. He is poison. His goal is destruction of all objective truth, so that the only "truth" is what the regime says it is.
Your premise is based on valuing objective truth and honesty.
Your "silver lining" is a man who wages war against those things.
"We had to destroy the village in order to save it" has always been a stupid position. You shouldn't resurrect it.

how does someone from florida fly to colorado and is able to walk out of the gun store that day with a gun? there's no waiting period? the supposed background check they did didn't come up with anything about this "credible threat" the fbi issued?
No waiting period on a pump shotgun. And I don't think any flag on her was issued until AFTER she bought the weapon. No wait, instant background check of a file that didn't have any flags at that time = walk out with a new shotgun.

The concept sounds nice.
But when you re-state it as "let's send people to places where there are no jobs, and force them to stay there," the, ummm, economics of that don't seem too great.

Swindle, your list screams "I got this from Drudge or some other far-right spew factory", but let's assume some of it happened. Have you ever noticed what CNN does when they get a story wrong? They issue a retraction and sometimes an apology. Have you ever noticed what FOX does when they get a story wrong, which happens at problem 10X the rate CNN does? FOX does nothing. AND TRUMP TWEETS ABOUT THE FALSE STORY AND PRAISES FOX NEWS FOR THE STORY.
The fact that Swindle skips over that part I added for accuracy is what makes his entire premise fucking ridiculous. We KNOW what Trump thinks of inaccurate reporting -- he fucking LOVES IT. He re-tweets it and amplifies it.

I'm crediting Trump with the unveiling of the MSM's apparent biases to the masses
But. That. Is. Not. What. He's. Doing.
He is NOT attacking "biases." He is attacking RESULTS. If it is critical of Trump, it is BAD. If it is positive for Trump, it is GOOD. That's it. That's his entire thought process. He USES words like "bias" and "agenda," but not as ANY criticism of methodology or failure to report objective truth.
In Trumpworld, truth and lack of bias is evidenced by one thing, and one thing only -- is it a positive story about Trump?
He isn't unveiling SHIT. He is supporting and building up the exact model that you ridiculously say he is "unveiling."

QuotePeru's former President Alan García has shot himself as police came to arrest him.
Casimiro Ulloa hospital in the capital, Lima, said he was in surgery where he was being treated for "a bullet wound to his head".
Mr García is accused of taking bribes from Brazilian construction company Odebrecht - claims he has repeatedly denied.
Officers had been sent to arrest him in connection with the allegations.
Interior Minister Carlos Morán told reporters that when police arrived, Mr Garcia asked to make a phone call and went into a room and closed the door.
Minutes later, a shot rang out, Mr Morán said. Police forced the door open and found Mr Garcia sitting on a chair with a bullet wound to his head.
Health minister Zulema Tomás said Mr García's condition was "very serious and critical", and that he had to be resuscitated after suffering three cardiac arrests.
"Let's pray to God to give him strength," the former president's lawyer Erasmo Reyna reportedly told journalists at the hospital.
Mr García served as president from 1985 to 1990 and again from 2006 to 2011.
Investigators say he took bribes from Odebrecht during his second term in office, linked to a metro line building project in the capital.
Respect for a crook who has the decency to save his people the time and trouble of a trial. Wish that our crooks were so upstanding.

Dude....seriously?
Do you think it is bad for society in general to ask critical questions about the information they are being fed by mainstream media outlets that have been undoubtedly outed as pushing false narratives? When the reason is "because I don't agree with the conclusions those stories lead me to," yes, that's a fucking problem. It's RESULTS-DRIVEN, not process and input-driven.
If Trump asked the same critical questions about Fox News as he does about CNN, you would be on to something -- you'd have a crusader for objective journalism. That is not happening. Literally the OPPOSITE is happening. He CHAMPIONS agenda-drive, false-narrative spewing journalism....so long as the RESULT is that it praises him.
