Yeah. I grew up Catholic (catholic schools, the whole 9 yards, which also meant that some of my lifelong friends are dyed-in-the-wool Catholics). When I told some of them I was marrying my non-Catholic wife (at the time, Methodist, as she grew up in the Methodist church), a couple of them even commented "but....she's not Catholic!" Nope, she's not. And, we're getting married in her family's church (St. Luke's - gotDAMN is that a white folks protestant church). To make it even better, I'm now active in leadership in the PCUSA Presbyterian church, where my wife is an ordained minister. Kinda makes my friends' heads spin, but the cool part is that the priests and nuns who educated both of us (yep, wife went to Catholic school for a while - she was regularly "the protestant" in various classes) think it's pretty cool, and we've had a lot of good visits over theology with them over the years.
