Elon Musk: Nazi traitor piece of shit [Confirmed]
Brisketexan replied to MaybeACoordinator's topic in Daily Texan
I mean.....it was my dating M.O. sophomore year, with a decent success rate. I'm not proud of it, but it's the truth. Signed, Brisketexan....my dad is part owner of the Dallas Mavericks, I can totally get us courtside seats next weekend -
Dude...the Accuweather guy already has that path locked up. You think I'm kidding....he has actively worked towards this, and has made a shitload of political contributions towards it, for years. We are completely and totally governed by oligarchs, in no small part because Trump is handing them the keys to different aspects of the country as fast as he possibly can. That's how it's done. He's just following the post-Soviet model, letter-for-letter.

Over the last 50 years, your generic plastic army men (you know, these guys): Have been stamped the following things, in this order: Made in Japan Made in Taiwan, ROC Made in China Made in Vietnam (I think that's the new locale) The point being that jobs in factories that make cheap injection molded plastic toys are NOT first-world country jobs; they move as economies develop. We are never getting "cheap injection molded plastic toy jobs" back in the US....nor do we want them. Because the choice is either a shit job paying a sub-par wage, or a job in American conditions paying a good wage, in which case your $5 bag of plastic army men just became a $15-$20 bag of plastic army men. Now, do the same for plastic car parts, electronic components, etc. etc. ad infinitum. Americans DO NOT WANT THOSE JOBS. How do we know? Well we can look around at OTHER really hard, low-wage jobs: picking strawberries, installing roofs, working low-level construction jobs....and see that Americans don't want those jobs, either. That's why millions of hard working brown people are doing them. AND.....American consumers don't want to pay for goods, products, and services at the high prices that would follow such jobs paying the wage necessary to draw Americans. If you hated $7 eggs, you're REALLY gonna hate $8 lettuce, and $10 strawberries, and a new house that costs $300k instead of $240k. You can bring back 90,000 cheap injection molded plastic toy factories.....not one job will result. Or you can force the issue...and the factories will still close, because nobody is gonna buy the $20 bag of plastic army men. Sure, there are some manufacturing opportunities and jobs that can and should exist in the US. And yes, globalization has left some people behind. But what is happening here is the elevation to god-like status of "mediocre white men." What, oh WHAT will we do with all of our mediocre white men? We yell at EVERYONE ELSE to "better themselves...learn to code!" and all that shit. But for mediocre white men? Nope, they should stay EXACTLY as they are, and we should just jump into a time machine to take us back to a time when 1) we had the the only major economy left standing after WWII, thus making us a manufacturing center, and 2) they didn't even have to compete for most of the decent manufacturing jobs because minorities and women largely need not apply. The Trump administration is trying to turn back time. All that they'll accomplish is wrecking shit that will take decades to repair. Fucking idiots.

The destruction of America's public education system

All those kids who needed special ed teachers should just pull themselves up by their bootstraps. They are leeches and freeloaders, and we should celebrate Elon taking a chainsaw to them. MAGA! -

Your reading on both leaders is dead wrong. Zelensky isn't pursuing a resolution to get approval ratings and "keep his job." It's not about him holding on to power. And Putin isn't going to cash in his chips now. He has a 100% owned asset in the White House. He KNOWS he can get better terms out of Trump, because Trump is a TERRIBLE negotiator when someone else at the table has actual strategy and power. Putin is holding out for.....everything he wants, and nothing less than that. And Trump will find a way to cave and give it to him. And Putin KNOWS that. Why would he cash in now?

Also, that the "pro-Israel" crowd doesn't see this as plain as day is baffling to me. You are being USED. That's it. You are a tool of the autocracy -- you think that you are using them, but you have it bassackwards.

The Leopards Eating Faces and Unlubed Dildo of Consequences Thread

FIF accuracy. Because only THEIR immense suffering offers us any hope of righting this ship. It's a slim hope, but it's the only hope we've got. -

If by "forever chemicals and other hazardous waste" you mean Dollar Generals and meth, why then....yes. -
1) Nobody rational would argue against the concept that we need to take a much more vigorous approach to the garbage that is processed foods. 2) Except we have to exclude from group 1) the entire Republican party, which flipped the fuck out when Michelle Obama suggested eating more vegetables as "COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT CONTROL!" The GQP and anyone in it has NEGATIVE credibility or standing on this issue. BELOW ZERO. Fuck their hypocritical asses with a pitchfork coated in Red Dye No. 5.

Highlighting the important language. "Mixed bag" means that there were 1) violent criminal acts that took place (true, not disputed) and 2) peaceful protests/statements of a position that differs from yours (also true, should not be disputed). The existence of item 1) does not give carte blanche to treat actions under item 2) as crimes. Agreed? Because if you do agree....then you should be troubled by the administration's rhetoric and approach.

The man stretches the bounds of insulting yiddish. That...is an impressive feat. I mean, he's also a zorch (did I get that right? Been a long time since I learned all the dirty yiddish terms).

Groovy. Arrest and charge any individual who committed a crime. Do NOT arrest and charge people with a crime for having a political position you disagree with, no matter how vehemently. Can we have that agreement? No, we can't? I mean, the administration seems to be firmly in your camp, so hooray for you. Just remember, "first they came for" is an ironclad rule of authoritarian regimes. It goes in the "be careful what you ask for, you're going to get it good and hard" drawer.

Yeah....best I can do is the neighbor's dog pissing on 1 square foot of your lawn on his evening walk. -
blah blah blah, we never thought the leopards would eat OUR faces! They were willing to sacrifice the Republic and everyone in it for their delusional fantasy of slightly higher quarterly earnings. Every last one of them can burn in fucking hell.

Shit, who do you think is gonna go in those new prison camps once they deport everyone with a hispanic last name? XPrisonCorp gotta make its cash somewhere. Once we get rid of Obergefell and Lawrence v. Texas, we can go back to the way God ordained it: full criminalization of being gay, trans, or any other icky sexual/gender orientation thing MAGA hates. Don't think it's coming? Dudes. There are LITERALLY bills being introduced in multiple state legislatures, including ours, to do EXACTLY THAT. I don't have to make any of this up -- it's actually happening. -
What was awkward was that her vibrator had the same setup.

I mean, technically in accounting terms, I think those are more like dividends than a salary. Which is important, because the tax rate for capital gains and such is different than the tax rate on earned income.....neither of which Elon pays, of course. Just wanted to get that out there.

MOAR COAL! Problem though....are YOU going to invest $500 million+ in building/revamping a coal power plant, knowing that your payback time on that investment is 20+ years on the short end? No sane source of capital is going to pour it into a coal plant. And this admin is going to affirmatively attack the ability to build more wind or solar. Dumbest. Timeline.

I remain dead serious that this thread title needs to be changed to Trump vs. America

Everything is Shit: Tracking the Great Enshittening
Brisketexan replied to 956 Worldwide's topic in Daily Texan
Agreed. For international flying, we're generally locked in to the BA/AA system because of where our various people are (although sweet lord do I hate Heathrow). We/the kids fly that enough that it's worth going all-in on their program. And back when I flew a lot more for work (again, all around Texas, but 40+ flights a year), I was all-in on SWA. Was regularly A-list preferred, sometimes even earned a Companion Pass. It all made sense for me based on 1) where and 2) how often I flew, and then 3) SWA was so easy, with a great schedule, cheap fares, and other perks like free bags. But your point is really the point that ANY airline has to make -- for those of you who fly a LOT (which is an increasingly smaller share of all travelers), it makes sense for you to go all-in with us (whatever carrier has the most flights out of your home airport, usually). That strategy has a value that is declining, and fast. -
Just a hint, dude.....when you stink up your shitter something awful, and you spray a bunch of Febreze around, instead of your bathroom smelling like shit, it now smells like you took a giant shit...on top of some flowers. That's it. That's all you're accomplishing.

Sure. But we need to be grooming national leaders. Time to get back to the basics: mediocre white men. The future looks like this: You may hate that truth - I certainly do - but that doesn't make it any less true. We are seeing the resurgence, with a LITERAL vengeance, of the mediocre white man. He's sick and tired of having what is rightfully his STOLEN by.....well-educated and competent women....and smart, hardworking minorities. IT'S JUST NOT FAIR! And....the electorate seems to agree with them. So, play by the rules of the game that are in place, and play to win.

He has literally said that he is going to bring back all manufacturing to the US. As in, all the automobile components made (for example) in Canada and Mexico will be manufactured in the US now. Nevermind things like: 1) in what fucking factories? Constructing/retooling a major manufacturing facility doesn't happen in a few weeks/months. It's years. 2) and speaking of years, what sane person would invest money in shifting their entire manufacturing operation to a different country based on the erratic and mercurial moves of a madman? The policies you'd base your decision on today will almost certainly change LITERALLY tomorrow, and 150 more times between now and whenever your factory would be up and running. 3) at what additional cost to the American consumer? We like having cheaper auto parts that are built in Mexico by lower-cost labor because we like having cheaper cars. Start paying more in labor (good UAW wages), that $500 part from Mexico is now $900-$1000 here. Congrats, your car price just went up. But wait....Trump says we'll take care of that, by leaning heavily on "robots and AI." Cool....so then....what's the fucking point of bringing that factory over here? We won't be getting more manufacturing jobs from it. Which is it -- are the factories gonna bring lots of jobs (and increased prices), or are they gonna keep prices low by using robots and AI (but not adding any appreciable jobs)? He has told us his supposed "reasoning." It is all breathtakingly stupid. Because.... ...this. Fuck it, I am waiting for this admin to make the economic case for restoring slavery.
