  1. Pretty sure OU pulling three of the top five players from Cali in any given year is in fact a new thing. Less fucking retarded takes for the love of god.
  2. I have a slightly used Hyundai I can contribute to the cause. Maybe Harris prefers a ride with better gas mileage?
  3. Did he ever rule out Sebastion Cheeks? UNC defense is an absolute goddamn mess and at the same time there is a clear chance to get significant playing time with us as a FR at LB. Makes more sense to me than Anderson or someone else already wanting to flip just based on what we've seen so far.
  4. Did more information come out today? Last I've seen was the update in the Murphy thread just saying 'clavicle injury' but that it wasn't serious enough for him to even be in a sling.
  5. This is going to turn into an LSU vs USC battle for Urban Meyer.
  6. This was all about LSU. There is buzz from both the LSU and Aggy side that they were already in talks with Jimbo trying to work out a deal for if/when they replace the ogre. Highly doubt LSU could or would match the terms he was already getting but this makes it that much harder to walk away even if LSU is the better gig. As to the timing there is some grumbling they've lost momentum over the summer with a few key targets due to negative recruiting from the rest of the SEC all claiming Jimbo is gone after this year. 'Why join that irrelevant program that will be 6-6 every yr once Jimbo walks?' is being pushed hard by Georgia to certain guys they are battling over. Could be why they pushed the extension now instead of waiting to see if the LSU job even came open first.
  7. Only LBs we are still targeting are Perkins, Barton (Utah) and Snelling (Nevada). I imagine we will continue to work on Patton, also, despite his Baylor commitment. Of those three we haven't heard much at all about Barton nor Snelling in awhile (unless I've just missed it) and I'm not sure we are even still in the mix with them. Perkins isn't worth discussing until we are firmly locked into the SEC for the 2022 season. I guess it is possible we could reach on another LB but I fully expect this ends up being a one LB class (Eoghan Kerry) with maybe Patton as a late flip. If we have a good year under PK and Choate the talent we can snag from the portal is likely to be a hell of a lot better than the upside on another 3 star reach.
  8. https://twitter.com/turnUplevee/status/1425990409235451904?s=20 This puts Bama back in the market for a Rb. Wonder if this puts Miller back up in the air. Can't imagine they would want Blue with all the drama attached. edit: Le'Veon Moss has opened up back up his recruitment. Looks like I failed to get the tweet itself in and only the link. Oh well
  9. Honestly asking: now that we know the NCAA's NIL rule and what other states have done.. is there any hope of the Texas law being amended sooner rather than later to match the looser doctrines that everyone else is playing with? You would think this is is one area where there would be almost universal support since anyone even loosely affiliated with a football program in the state of Texas needs this to change ASAP. Or is amending that law something that will have to wait till 2023 when they finally fucking sit again?
  10. Hopefully they recognize the meme potential of a yearly Texas vs Tennessee 'Battle of the UTs' rivalry game and make that happen. Texas v Bama is probably the single biggest money making cross-divisional game the new SEC could put out each year, I would think, so unfortunately I imagine it swings that way with the pairings.
  11. Is Finkley a take for Alabama right now? I would assume so but you never fucking know with that program so figured I'd ask.
  12. Banks landing with the ducks would at least make sense. They sniped Williams even though the kid was telling his friends and coaches like 15 hours before he was going Texas. They flipped the WR that was a heavy ND lean with apparently just as little warning (he also was telling 'family connections' like the day before it would be ND). Now Banks goes from a late July commitment date and torn between Texas/Aggies to Oregon + moving his date up? A lot of this smoke coming out about not having his mind made up could just be cover for "I accepted a giant fucking bag and want people to be less suspicious". Their bag game has always been strong and the NIL rule passage by the NCAA gives them more of a green light than ever. At least if its Oregon we have a solid chance of getting him to flip back throughout the season if he has second thoughts about playing so far from home and/or they humiliate themselves against another Oregon St or Cal.
  13. At the risk of making this thread relevant to recruitment and the 2022 class again: Any recent word on Maalik relocating for his senior year? I assume that would have already happened by now but I remember there being talk about it like ~2 months ago. Even saw some mention of Cedar Park HS on a few boards as a landing spot (honestly can't remember if that was actually based on anything or pure guesswork). Not sure if this was ever anything more than complete bullshit but either way.. any news?
  14. Say we hold on with Winfield and add Thompson. Coleman goes wherever, Hudson to SMU, Marshall to the sheep fuckers, Shaz to SEC, Stewart to Gators or whoever ultimately drops the biggest bag and Williams decides to stay close to home at USC. In this not unlikely scenario who are the realistic option B targets to round out the WR class? I'd still be thrilled to have a WR class with just Thompson and Winfield either way. Not trying to be pessimistic (I still think Stewart is a coin flip and I think we could land Williams if we miss on other targets and make him more a priority) but haven't seen much discussion about lower tier WR targets in this class in months. Curious what names we should be keeping an eye on as fallback guys.
  15. Would we actually consider taking 3 Rbs in the 2022 class if both Citizen and Gatson say yes and Blue actually gets his shit together? Or is Gatson just in the mix as a consolation prize (a good one but still) if Citizen heads elsewhere and/or we move on from Blue? Main reason I ask is that people around the kid seem to think Texas would take his commitment immediately if he decided to give one. Was surprised to hear that but obviously they could be wrong.
  16. The part where in almost every single insider write up about the kid it mentions teams offering him the ability to play both sides of the ball? Almost as if this is perhaps something he values? Banks knows his future is at LB. That isn't the same thing as him not wanting to see the field on offense at all. TCU is offering early playing time as its major argument for why he should head that way. We can offer him the same on offense while still letting him spend the vast majority of his time working with and developing at LB. Would hardly be the first player we kept in specific packages while they transitioned fully to a different role.
  17. You would think Sark's offense would be an edge in fighting Fatterson for Banks. Even if his focus is on LB (and that seems to be where we want him as well) he could probably still crack the field as a FR just being worked into the screen game. Its not like we are exactly stacked at wideout with guys who are good after the catch. Especially if Jake Smith remains perpetually injured. I know its hardly some ground breaking thought or anything but I am surprised this isn't getting mentioned at all with Banks. Especially with regards to what could give us an edge over the accursed frogs.
  18. So it does replace the existing graduate transfer exemption. Hope they give additional clarity on what exactly would potentially qualify someone for an exemption waiver as a graduate. Is that going to be purely for hardship circumstances or if some kid burned his one-time xfer as a FR but then did really well scholastically and has the opportunity to go join a top graduate program might they get rewarded with a waiver? I imagine they leave it ambiguous so the corrupt jackasses running the process can just do whatever they feel like at the time.
  19. Based on the comment below by CTJ, directly talking about Woods, it would appear he is NOT this mysterious WRX. Also if Woods was the guy, and they were in the loop enough to know he was considering the portal before even Arkansas Insiders learned of it, they would also likely have known he was a hard OU lean out the gate and wouldn't be hyping it up as possible.
  20. I tried to give each new team a fresh chance to convince they were worth watching / investing time in. Generally by the first games of conference play it was always clear just more of the same Shaka-ball bullshit. Best immediate change with Beard is even if our team looks like ass early on I can reasonably expect them to actually improve as the season goes on. edit: on a side note I have no clue if the GroBros would ultimately be a great fit with Beard's scheme but considering how damned fun they were to watch in the tournament against KU I still hope we find out.
  21. Always happy to see someone who actually did come here to 'play school' have success in that area. Good for him. Still going to get some solid coaching under Wilcox and might fit better in Cal scheme anyway. Just glad this wasn't some kneejerk reaction to all the EOT shit resurfacing this weekend as I initially figured it might be. Sounds like he just had a good opportunity and seized on it.
  22. I was at that Agger v Pitt game back in 2003 or 2004 (the one in college station). Completely agree with you. Was in awe watching that kid play that day. Think he had like 3 effortless TDs or something like that. Was fucking a chick who went there at the time and I remember after the game a bunch of drunk conversations by their fans trying to figure out if we had just seen a god tier once in a generation type talent or if their defense was just that bad. I argued it was both.
