I've been making the joke for a few months that Saban was going to hire Cutcliffe as an analyst following this season. It's a very Saban move, although I have no idea if Cutcliffe wants to do that kind of thing.
Justin Wells said that part of the Cutcliffe to UT smoke is that Cutcliffe isn't a big fan of Saban and wouldn't work under a "dictatorship."

Also, on the latest Bobby Burton podcast, Justin Wells said that there's some smoke behind the scenes of David Cutcliffe joining the staff as an analyst.

Would love to see Okam back here as an analyst this year.

We are fortunate to be done with '22 recruiting for the most part, so this staff can really get after it with the '23 class. I believe this will be a top 3 class especially if Arch jumps in the boat. We are sitting in a good spot with a lot of guys in state and im excited to see what Choice and Marion can do on the trail.

Lol. Ok bud. So “cooked to order” and you think they’re efficient/consistent means it’s not fast food? They have counter service, no waiters, and they’re predominantly in strip centers. It’s fast food, bud. Chick fil a is pretty consistent too, I guess they’re not fast food despite double drive thru lines that snake around their buildings.
It takes 20 minutes to get your food, that is not fast food.

5 guys has to be my favorite national burger chain. It’s a greasy sloppy mess that takes years off my life with every bite but hot damn it’s good. The Cajun fries are also fantastic and they give you enough to murder a small horse. I can get behind that
Yep 5 guys is top tier but they are not “fast food” it’s cooked to order and perfect every time

Lol Drew Sanders would instantly become the best player on our Defense. Bama folks are salty that he hasn’t been able to play much this year, he’s a beast, he’s super versatile, and he’s a legit pass rusher.

So USC is out for Neyor, our OV is now a weekend visit, and Tennessee is having to fight to even keep their OV while he adds one that doesn't have an OC yet. Sounds like we're in a great spot.
Charlie Weis Jr is the new OC at Ole Miss. He was at USF last year.

Coach Marion posted a pretty cool facilities tour on his Instagram story. It’s more than anything that’s been put out so far. Pretty impressive.

Spoiler: Quinn's not going to be elite next year. Maybe in the future, but I'm not trying to get too far ahead of myself.
We just need the right the ship at this point. I don't anticipate going full Michigan and getting into the playoffs next season. But not losing by 50 to Bama and winning 9 regular season games is a darn good step in the right direction and should be attainable. Anything better than that next season is gravy.
I would hope that Quinn would be able to play at the level of RS freshman like Stroud and Young played this year. It’s definitely unfair but that’s his pedigree.

Would you classify better than average as elite?
Better than above average yes, because above average is “good.”

Do we need him to be elite or better than average?
I would classify elite as better than above average, no?

Think you mean Choice, not Coleman. But point taken. It's been a much better offseason than any of us could have anticipated given how badly we crapped the bed.
I think having above average qb play will be a huge factor for us next year. It'll help our defense out as well because we can't possibly have as many 3 and outs and/or turn the ball over on downs at midfield nearly as often I wouldn't think. OU and West Virginia getting decimated in the portal. Iowa State losing their upperclassmen. Can't fathom losing to Kansas again (course I couldn't fathom it this season either). But has to be better next year I'd think.
Good take but unfortunately we need Quinn to be elite. We’ve invested a ton of resources and sacrificed potential starting QB’s in Milroe, Casey, and possibly Arch towards Quinns success. We need him to be better than above average imo….The good news is that we have the talent around him to really make some noise as early as this year. Sark’s tenure is going to live or die on the arm of Quinn. There’s no room for excuses we have to get it done.

Hoping we get some news on Patterson soon.

I don't think Day will go to Chicago this offseason but his and Riley's career arc will be fun to watch over the next 10 years. They both inherited very specific cultures, talented rosters, and enough potential to continue to recruit at a high level.
It took Riley 5 years, but through a series of questionable hires and diminishing results, he tanked the culture and left behind a roster in shambles.
Day just finished year 4 where his major accomplishments were demoting his DC midseason, getting smoked in the only game that matters for them, and nearly losing his bowl game to a team full of try hard 3 stars. Maybe even worse, fOSU has 16 5*s currently on the roster, one less than Utah has 4*s.
I think both Day and Riley lack the requisite head coaching skills of culture/roster management that contributes so significantly to the long term prospectus for teams they inherited. Riley bolted - what will Day do?
Day is one year removed from playing for a natty
