Fair point, if he's leaving Pitt he might want to keep it quiet until after that bowl game. And no real reason for Sark/Drayton or anyone else to push him on that.
If they were promoting him to OC, I feel like they'd go ahead and announce it though to get their guys excited and end any speculation.

He would have also retweeted or liked something about Slovis too

This is why we need to go after the Virginia Center in the portal IMO.
Depends on if we move angilau to center.

Anyone know how fast Jaydon Blue is? Everyone says he has great hands. I wonder if he has the ability to play slot for us?

Angilau didn't have have to beat out an entrenched starter at a position he's never played before
Majors is far from an "entrenched starter" He was just our only option man. He played so poorly at times that if there was another viable option I promise he would have been benched. His play during the OU-Okie lite- Baylor stretch of the season was piss poor. He got bullied. There's hope that Flood will continue to develop him and that he will grow from his experience this year and make strides in the weight room this offseason, but I promise you that nobody in the coaches office is penciling him in as a starter right now. He's going to have to compete to with that job in the fall.

I did give it some thought since my take comes from how Bill Belichick works with the defense plus how first time managers that fail to stop doing their prior duties and grow into their management duties after a promotion usually fail as managers.
Bill Belichick does not call all the plays but is essential in helping on game plans and when to call blitzes. That is why I said Sark could get involved in critical situations. The Patroits are as good as they have been over the years on defense because of Bill and not the DC(s) but yet he does not call all the plays. Clearly folks here feel that Sark cannot grow as a head coach to take on a similar role to better deal with the rest of of his duties so I have conceded that my take was bad.
I just don't see the point. its not an issue. I generally thought he made great in game decisions besides the dicker fake punt and not going for it on 4th and 2 at the Iowa State 40 yard line. You say you want him more involved with the D but honestly what could he add? What did Tom Herman add to the D by not calling plays? Correct me if im wrong, but there has been nothing to indicate that Sark cannot call plays and be an effective HC. I like what we did offensively and for the first time in YEARS it felt like we had an offensive identity that struck fear in our opponents.

Hutson is an EE and is physically ready, but playing in the flexbone means he likely has quite a bit of technical growth ahead of him before he's ready to take a spot right away
Thats why coming in early is so huge, hes already there as a run blocker, nobody knows what he's like in pass pro but at his size that shouldn't be an issue at Center. Junior Angilau was in the exact same spot as Hutson, Big Nasty maulers in an option offense with no pass pro exp and early enrollees. Angilau has been a day one starter. I think Hutson could do the same.

That's an interesting thought. Campbells athleticism from the C position would allow some really cool stuff to happen offensive scheme wise.
Robertson is a true center. Hutson is an EE and will get every opportunity to take the spot right away. Literally everyone else in this class save Agbo could theoretically give it a try. I’m interested to see if Angilau moves to Center in order to give Neto/Campbell/ Williams/Karic/Conner/ Or maybe even C.Jones? a shot to play guard. I know he’s a returning starter but it’s hard for me to see Majors starting next year unless he freaking kills it in the weight room this offseason. Hutson is a mauler and is already 320 pounds, so we shall see… all of a sudden it seems like we have an abundance of riches in the O line or at the very least, some real competition.

I will say one thing on Cam Williams.. he is a big basketball player who happens to have started playing football, not the other way around. He's a terrific athlete and according to Dallas area coaches he is a borderline 5 star player not a 3 star type. Many think he will be ready to play day one with a good coach. Plus Derrius Terrell who coaches at desoto has said that hes a legit 6'7 and he might still grow and that he is the biggest heaviest person he's ever seen who does not have any knee problems. He pointed out that Willams doesn't wear a knee brace. Also, Terrell said that Neto might be an elite center prospect, not sure if i've seen anyone mention that before. This O-Line haul is unreal.

Ideally that's what you'd want, but it's really not how it works with guys like Sark, at least not at this point in their career. Maybe one day *if Sark hangs around and wins a 'ship or eight and brings in recruiting classes in the top three-four every year that satisfy all of the correct positions, then he can delegate the offense away until that OC position is a revolving door of plug-and-play big time ex-head coaches or what have you. That time is not now.
*Obviously that's a huge if
If anything he wouldn't bring in an outside guy todo it. He said this year that if he would've gotten Covid Milwee was gonna be the play caller.

I still think Sark is spread to thin and that is why he did not get involved on the defensive side of the ball because of his focus on play calling duties. He needs to hand play calling duties over to someone eventually to function well as a head coach. Yes there is a danger in losing what he brings as a play caller but we do not have to lose what he brings as a game plan strategist.
bad take man. I love everything about what Sark brings offensively. Playcalling might be the last thing we need to worry about with this football team. Sark's best asset is his offensive mind, he's super cerebral and meticulous in his approach, a Kiffin model wouldn't work with him because he groups plays together conceptually, not individually. He's talked about this before in clinics. It seems WILD to suggest that we take our best asset and minimize it... In order to give play calling to a guy who last called plays at Howard. What are we doing here!? Sark is not Herman

FWIW Marion still doesn’t have anything related to Slovis transferring to Pitt on his profile. That’s a pretty good sign that he’s going elsewhere.

Andre Coleman was well liked by players. Lots of coaches and employees who fucking suck are wildly beloved by players and co-workers yet suck at their fucking jobs.
That was not my point. I was talking about the director of recruiting whose job it is to build relationships with parents and prospects. Based on what I know personally from guys who have been/are being recruited by Texas. They think he's doing a good job of recruiting them. There's more to it than that so thats why I asked the question for clarification.
The tweet I posted was Harris talking about how much he loves his boss which seemed a little off for a dude who is about to get fired.

Since we're playing this game...
Marion's 7 most recent follows are now Trevell Johnson, some rando, JWhitt, Westcott Eberts, Suchomel, Taylor Estes, and Rod Babers
Obviously he'd already be following anyone from Pitt, but sure seems like there's still smoke. Wonder if Pitt chose an OC already (hard to imagine Slovis committing otherwise).
He also hasn't liked/retweeted anything related to Slovis. Let's see if he does... that would be a nice data point.

Nahlin has also mentioned it on IT.
There's no chance Texas is losing anybody they value to Temple. Especially a coaching position that isn't on the field. This move to Temple should tell you everything you need to know about how Sark feels about Harris.
Ok I didn't know about the Nahlin mention. This just didn't read like a "Harris is incompetent" type of situation based on what recruits have said about him and stuff like this tweet, but maybe you are right. Im excited to see who we replace him with.

Finding a different job before getting fired.
It’s been rumored all over the place that Harris sucks and has no clue what he’s doing.
Define "all over the place" because i've only seen it from like two or three people on this board. He is well liked by players (as seen in Worthy's post above) and many recruits. I am obviously not saying that you cant upgrade there but multiple dudes from this cycle and 23's like Arch Manning, J Cook, and Rueben Owens have all gone on record talking about how much they love B Harris. He may not be elite at his job but to say that he sucks seems pretty harsh.

Dumbasses watch a camp highlight, proceed to make a complete dumb shit opinion on a 1.000 rated QB.
Dumbasses don't watch the high school game highlights that show his actual motion and make a smart well formulated opinion.
Part of his evaluation needs to be his leadership qualities too…which I haven’t seen discussed yet. Quinn is a natural born leader who all gravitate towards. I watched Southlake play a few times and whether it was on the field after a TD or on the sidelines in between drives, Quinn displayed so much emotion and passion for winning. I was very impressed. He’s not the entitled prick that he’s being portrayed as.
